ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೧೭೫

ವೇದವತಿಯ ಶಾಪ,

ನಳಕೂಬರನ ಶಾಪ- 

ರಾವಣನ ಬೆನ್ನು ಹತ್ತತೊಡಗಿದವು.

ದೇವ ದಾನವರಿಂದ ಸೋಲದವ ಮಾನವ ವಾನರರಿಂದ ಸೋಲು ಕಂಡ!ಯಾರ ಯಾರದೋ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತು ತಂದವಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಪುರುಷ ಹೊತ್ತೊಯ್ದದ್ದು ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ!! 

ತಲೆಗೆರೆದ ನೀರು! ಕಾಲಿಗಿಳಿಯದಿದ್ದೀತೇ?

ಮೇಘನಾದ ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತು ಆಗುವ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ರಾವಣನ ಸೋಲು ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಲಂಕೆಗೆ ಬಂದವನೇ ಭೂಮಂಡಲದ ಅಳಿದುಳಿದ ರಾಜರುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತೆ ಹೊರಟ.ನಾರದನ ಸಲಹೆ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬರಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಸಲ ಅವನು ಮಾಹಿಷ್ಮತೀ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಳಿಯಿಟ್ಟ.ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ರಾಜ ಸಾವಿರ ಕೈಗಳ ಅರ್ಜುನ! ಕಾರ್ತವೀರ್ಯಾರ್ಜುನ!ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರೇಯಸಿಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಿಂಧ್ಯಾ ಪರ್ವತದ ತಪ್ಪಲಿಗೆ ವಿಹಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತೆರಳಿದ್ದ.

ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಚಿವರುಗಳು ಸೇನೆಯವರೂ ಇದ್ದರು.ವಿಷಯ ತಿಳಿದ 

ರಾವಣನೂ ತನ್ನ ಪಡೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ತೆರಳಿದ. ಸುಂದರ ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ  ನರ್ಮದಾ ನದಿಯ ಒಂದೆಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಜುನ ವಿಹರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದೆಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾವಣ! 

ರಾವಣ ನರ್ಮದೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಂದು ಶುಚಿಗೊಂಡು ದಡದಲ್ಲೇ ಕುಳಿತು ತನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ತಂದಿದ್ದ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಶಿವಲಿಂಗವನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸತೊಡಗಿದ.ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಜುನನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ನರ್ಮದೆಯನ್ನು ಅಡ್ಡಗಟ್ಟಿ ತುಂಬಿದ ನೀರಲ್ಲಿ ಜಲಕೇಳಿಗೆ ತೊಡಗಿದ.ಕೆಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹರಿಯಬೇಕಾದ ನೀರು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಉಕ್ಕಿ ಹರಿಯ ತೊಡಗಿತು. ರಾವಣನ ಶಿವ ಪೂಜೆಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಾಯಿತು!ಹೂಮಾಲೆಗಳು ಕೊಚ್ಚಿ ಹೋದವು. ಸಿಟ್ಟಿಗೆದ್ದ ರಾವಣನು ಕಾರಣವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ. ಸೈನಿಕರು ಹೋಗಿ ಅರ್ಜುನನ ಜಲಕೇಳಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು. ಬಂದು ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ವಿಷಯ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. 

ಮೂಜಗಗಳನ್ನು ಗೆದ್ದವ ಈ ಜಗವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟಾನೇ!?

ಅದೂ ಹುಲುಮಾನವನನ್ನು! ಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಧದಲ್ಲೇ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಅಡ್ಡಿ ಪಡಸಿದವನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ತೊಡಗಿದ.

ಸೈನಿಕ,ಸಚಿವರುಗಳೊಳಗಿನ ಉಪಾಂತ್ಯ ಯುದ್ಧಗಳು ಮುಗಿದವು. ಅಂತಿಮ ಯುದ್ಧ ರಾವಣಾರ್ಜುನರ ನಡುವೆ ಸುರುವಾಯಿತು.ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಕೈಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಕೈಗಳ ನಡುವೆ!!

ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಆಪತ್ತು ಬಂತು!

ಸಾವಿರದ ಕೈಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೋಲುಂಟೇ? 

ತನ್ನೆರಡು ಕೈಗಳಿಂದ  ರಾವಣನನ್ನು ಅವುಚಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ತನ್ನ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ದು ಬಂಧನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟ.ಬಂಧಿಸಿದಾತಗೆ ಬಂಧನದ ಬೇಗೆ ತಟ್ಟಿತು.  ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಸೊಕ್ಕಡಗಿಸಿ ಸೊಕ್ಕಿದ  ರಾವಣನ  ಸೊಕ್ಕಡಗಿತು.

ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತು ಇಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಿ ಕರೆತಂದಾಗ ಪಿತಾಮಹ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಬಂದು ಬಂಧಮುಕ್ತನನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿದ್ದ.ಇಲ್ಲಿ  ರಾವಣನ ಬಂಧನದ ಸುದ್ದಿ ತಿಳಿದ ಅವನ ಪಿತಾಮಹ ಪುಲಸ್ತ್ಯನೇ ಬಂದ.

ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನ  ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ.ಪುಲಸ್ತ್ಯ ಮಹಾನ್ ತಪಸ್ವಿ, ತೇಜಸ್ವಿ. ಅರ್ಜುನನಿಗೆ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಪರಿಮಿತ ಗೌರವ.ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಪುಲಸ್ತ್ಯನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ರಾವಣನನ್ನು ಬಂಧಮುಕ್ತನನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿದ. ಸೋತ ರಾವಣನು ಅರ್ಜುನನೊಂದಿಗೆ  ಸಂಧಿಮಾಡಿ ಅಗ್ನಿಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿ ಗೆಳೆತನವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.

ನಾರದನ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ....

The curse of Vedavathi, 

the curse of Nalakoobara - 

began to chase Ravana. 

The one who did not get defeated by the gods and the monsters, got defeated by the humans and the apes !

The one who abducted and took away the daughters of others became unaware of the abduction of the daughter of his own house by an another man !!

The water which is poured on the head has to drip down to the legs ! Isn't it?

By the time Meghanaada became Indrajith, the downfall of Ravana began. 

He went again to defeat the remaining kings of the earth ,soon after returning to Lanka. The advice of Naarada was not at all remembered. This time he marched on the town Maahishmathee. The king of that town was Arjuna of 1000 hands !

Kaarthaveeryarjuna ! He had gone for an excursion to the slope of the Vindhya mountain along with his beloveds.

There were also ministers and commanders of the army along with him. Ravana who came to know about this, went along with his army there. On the one side Arjuna was relaxing in the part of the spacious river Narmada and on the other side Ravana !

After purifying himself by taking bath in the Narmada, Raavana sat on the bank of the river and began to worship the golden 'Shivalinga' which he had brought along with him. During the same time Arjuna began to sport in water which was brimming by blocking Narmada. 

The water which was supposed to flow down began to rise which obstructed Raavana from worshiping Shiva !

The garlands got swiped off. Ravana who got angry asked the reason. His soldiers went and saw Arjuna sporting in water. They returned and informed Raavana what they had seen. 

Will he spare this world, who has won the three worlds !?

That too a mere human! . Ravana got ready to wage the war against the one who obstructed his worship. 

The semi final battle between the ministers and the soldiers got over. The final battle between Ravana and Arjuna began. Between 20 hands and 1000 hands !!

The 20 got in trouble !

Is there a failure for the 1000 hands ?

He caught hold of Ravana in his two hands, took him to his palace and kept him in a prison. The one who imprisoned, experienced the heat of imprisonment. The vanity of Ravana was broken who had become so insolent by breaking the vanity of the gods.

When Indrajith carried Indra by imprisoning him the lord Brahma emancipated him. But here the grandfather Pulastya himself arrived there soon after hearing about the imprisonment of Ravana. He emancipated his grandson. Pulastya was a great ascetic and wise . Arjuna had infinite respect towards him which made Arjuna liberate Ravana from the prison immediately the moment Pulastya asked him. 

The defeated Ravana compromised with Arjuna and made friendship with him with fire as witness .
