ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತುವಿನ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಪ್ರಯೋಗದಿಂದ ಅರುವತ್ತೇಳು ಕೋಟಿ ವಾನರವೀರರು ಅಸು ನೀಗಿದರು. ಅವೆಷ್ಟೋ ಮಂದಿ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡರು.ಎಚ್ಚರದಪ್ಪಿದ ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಹತಾಶರಾದ ವಾನರವೀರರಿಗೆ ವಿಭೀಷಣನು ಧೈರ್ಯ ತುಂಬಿದ. 'ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ರಹಸ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅರಿತ ಅವರು ಅದನ್ನೆದುರಿಸದೆ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದ ಕಾರಣ ಎಚ್ಚರದಪ್ಪಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಬೇಗನೆ ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು' ಎಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು  ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಪಡಿಸಿದನು. 

ಆ ಬಳಿಕ ಹನುಮಾದಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಳಿದುಳಿದವರನ್ನು ಅರಸುತ್ತ ಹೋದರು. ರಣರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ  ತೀರಾ ಗಾಯವಡೆದು ಬಳಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದ ಜಾಂಬವಂತನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು. ಬಹು ಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಮಾರುತಿಯನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದಾಗ ವಿಭೀಷಣನಿಗೆ ಅಚ್ಚರಿ! ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸದೆ ಮಾರುತಿಯನ್ನೇ ಮೊದಲು ಯಾಕೆ ಕೇಳಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಜಾಂಬವಂತನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳಿದ. ಆಗ ಜಾಂಬವಂತನು- ಹನುಮನೊಬ್ಬನುಳಿದರೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅಳಿದರೂ ಉಳಿಯುವೆವು.ಅವನೊಬ್ಬನಳಿದು ನಾವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಉಳಿದರೂ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದೂ ಸತ್ತಂತೆ!-ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ಹನುಮನು ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದು ಜಾಂಬವಂತನಿಗೆರಗಿದನು.

ಜಾಂಬವಂತನು ಹನುಮನಲ್ಲಿ-ಸಮಸ್ತ ವಾನರರ ಜೀವ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ.ನೀನೀಗ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಹುದೂರದ ತನಕ ಹಾರಿ ಹಿಮವತ್ಪರ್ವತಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಎತ್ತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಋಷಭ ಪರ್ವತವಿದೆ.ಋಷಭ- ಕೈಲಾಸ ಪರ್ವತಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಅಪಾರ ಪ್ರಭೆಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ಓಷಧಿಪರ್ವತವಿದೆ.ಅದರಿಂದ ಮೃತಸಂಜೀವಿನೀ,ವಿಶಲ್ಯಕರಣೀ,ಸಾವರ್ಣ್ಯಕರಣೀ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಧಾನ ಕರಣೀ ಎಂಬ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಓಷಧಿಲತೆಗಳನ್ನು ತರಬೇಕು.ಇವುಗಳಿಂದ ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿದ ವಾನರರನ್ನು  ಬದುಕಿಸಬಲ್ಲೆವು.ಬೇಗ ಹೋಗಿ ಬಾ-ಎಂದು  ಹೇಳಲು ಮಾರುತಿಯು ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ವಂದಿಸಿ ರಕ್ಕಸರು ಬೆಚ್ಚಿ ಬೀಳುವಂತೆ ವಾಯುವೇಗದಿಂದ ಹಾರಿ ಹೋದನು. 

ಮಾರುತಿಯು ಹಾರುತ್ತಾ,ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಹಿಮಗಿರಿಯನ್ನು ಅನಾಯಾಸವಾಗಿ  ತಲುಪಿದನು.ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ  ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾಂಡ ದರ್ಶನದ ಅನುಭವವಾಯಿತು.

ಓಷಧಿಪರ್ವತವೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು.ಆದರೆ ಇವನ ಬರವಿನ ಸುಳಿವರಿತ ಅವುಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅಡಗಿದವು.ಸಿಟ್ಟಿಗೆದ್ದ ಮಾರುತಿಯು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕಲಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ಬೆಟ್ಟವನ್ನೇ ಹೊತ್ತು ಹಾರಿದನು.ಪರ್ವತ ರಾಜ ತಬ್ಬಿಬ್ಬಾದನು!!ಪರ್ವತ ಸಹಿತ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮಾರುತಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ  ವಾನರವೀರರು ಹರ್ಷೋದ್ಗಾರ ಮಾಡಿದರು!! ಹನುಮನೂ ಪ್ರತಿಗರ್ಜನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ.  ತ್ರಿಕೂಟದ ಬಳಿ ಓಷಧಿಪರ್ವತವನ್ನಿಟ್ಟನು.

ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ವಂದಿಸಿದನು.

ಓಷಧಿಲತೆಗಳ ವಾಸನೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರ ಸಹಿತ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಚೇತನರಾದರು.ಸತ್ತು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ವಾನರವೀರರು ಹೊಸಜೀವ ಪಡೆದು ನವೋತ್ಸಾಹವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದರು.ರಾಮ ಪಾಳಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹರ್ಷ ಮುಗಿಲು ಮುಟ್ಟಿತು.

ರಾವಣನ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೈನಿಕರು ಸತ್ತಾಗ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸತ್ತವರ ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಸಿಗಬಾರದೆಂದು ಸಮುದ್ರಕ್ಕೆಸೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು(ಮೊನ್ನೆ  ಚೀನಾದವರು ಈದೇ ತತ್ತ್ವ ಪಾಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು).ಆದುದರಿಂದ  ಓಷಧಿಲತೆಗಳ ಲಾಭ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಿಗಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಓಷಧಿಪರ್ವತದ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ ಮುಗಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಹನುಮನು ಅದನ್ನು ಅದರ ಮೂಲಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿರಿಸಿ ಬಂದನು! 

ಜಾಂಬವಂತನ ಮಾತು ಎಷ್ಟು ಸತ್ಯ!! 

ಅದಕ್ಕೇ ಹಿರಿಯರಿರಬೇಕು,

ಹಿರಿತಲೆಗಳಿರಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವುದು!!

Sixty seven crores of monkey warriors lost their lives because of Indrajithu who tried out Brahmaastra. So many were injured. Vibhishana consoled and filled courage in the monkey warriors who became disappointed seeing Rama - Lakshmana who were lying unconscious. 

Vibhishana said that Rama - Lakshmana fell unconscious since they accepted Brahmaastra instead of facing that though they knew the secret of Brahmaastra. He consoled them by saying that they would regain their consciousness soon.

After that along with Hanuman they all went searching for others who were remaining. They saw Jaambavantha who had fallen down being severely injured in the battlefield and they rushed towards him. He enquired the well-being of Maaruthi though he was in a miserable condition. Vibhishana was surprised ! He asked Jaambavantha why he enquired about Maaruthi first ,without enquiring about Rama and Lakshmana. During the time Jaambavantha said that if Hanuman would survive then they all would survive even if they perish. And even if they survive without Hanuman then they would be as dead though they were alive ! During the time Hanuman came forward and bowed down to Jaambavantha. 

Jaambavantha told Hanuman that the lives of all the monkeys were in his hand. He told Hanuman to go flying above the ocean a little far and to go to Himavathparwatha. There was Rushabha mountain on the top . And there was the mountain called  Oshadhi which was enriched with unlimited radiance , amidst of the mountains Kailasa. He told Hanuman to bring four Oshadhi creepers named Mruthasanjeevini , Vishalyakaranee , Saavarnyakaranee and Sandhana Karani, from there.

And he further said that the monkeys who were dead could be taken back to the life through those medicinal creepers and he asked Hanuman to go and come swiftly. Hanuman after bowing down to Rama ,flew to the Himalayas in the speed of Vaayu by startling the monsters. 

Maaruthi reached Himagiri effortlessly by flying and seeing. There he experienced the view of 'Brahmaanda'. The mountain Oshadhi was also found.  But all those creepers hid themselves when they got the intimation of Maaruthi's arrival, which made Hanuman furious. The furious Hanuman taught them a lesson by flying along with the mountain.  

The king of the mountain was startled !!

The monkeys were overjoyed and shouted enthusiastically when they saw Hanuman who was arriving along with the mountain !!

Hanuman roared as a response to their happiness. 

He kept the mountain Oshadhi near Trikoota.

He bowed down to everyone. 

Rama, Lakshmana and others became conscious just by the fragrance of the Oshadhi creepers. The monkeys who were dead got a new enthusiasm by gaining a new life. The happiness of Rama's army reached the sky.

When the soldiers died in the army of Ravana, they threw them into the ocean so that the enemies should not get the count of the deaths. ( The Chinese have followed the same principle recently). Because of that , the monsters could not get benefited by the creepers of Oshadhi. Soon after taking the benefits of Oshadhi mountain, Hanuman placed the mountain in its birth- place  and came back !

How true the words of Jaambavantha are !!

That's why there is a saying 

There should be elders

and elderly heads !!
