ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೧೬೮

ವಿರೋಧಿಯ ಕೈಗೆ ಬೆತ್ತ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಹೊಡೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ದೇವತೆಗಳದ್ದಾಯಿತು!

ರಾವಣನ ಅಜೇಯತ್ವವನ್ನು ಮನಗಂಡ ಭೂಗತರಾಗಿದ್ದ ರಾಕ್ಷಸರು ರಸಾತಳದಿಂದ ರಾವಣನಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಜೈ ಎಂದರು.

ಸುಮಾಲಿಯು ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ಅವನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಮನಗಾಣಿಸಿ 

ಲಂಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕುಬೇರನಿಂದ ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಲಹೆಯನ್ನಿತ್ತ! ಮೊದಮೊದಲು ರಾವಣನು ಒಪ್ಪಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಹಸ್ತನೂ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವನನ್ನೇ ತನ್ನ ರಾಯಭಾರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿ ಕುಬೇರನಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕಳಿಸಿದನು. ಲಂಕೆಯನ್ನು ರಾಕ್ಷಸರಿಗೆ ಮರಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಹೇಳಿದ.ತಂದೆ ವಿಶ್ರವಸುವಿನ ಸಲಹೆಯಂತೆ ಕುಬೇರನು ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ಲಂಕೆಯನ್ನೊಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಅನುಯಾಯಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೈಲಾಸದತ್ತ ಪಯಣಿಸಿ ಅಲಕಾಪುರಿಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆನಿಂತನು.

ರಾವಣಾದಿಗಳು ಲಂಕೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ನೆಲೆಸೆದರು.ಲಂಕೆ ರಾವಣರಾಜ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.

ತಂಗಿ ಶೂರ್ಪನಖಿಯನ್ನು ರಾವಣನು ವಿದ್ಯುಜ್ಜಿಹ್ವನಿಗೆ ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟ. 

ಮಯಾಸುರ-ಹೇಮೆಯರ ಮಗಳಾದ ಮಂದೋದರಿ ರಾವಣನ ಪಟ್ಟದರಸಿಯಾದಳು.

ಮಾಯಾವಿ,ದುಂದುಭಿ ಇವಳ ಸೋದರರು.ಮಯಾಸುರನು ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಶಕ್ತ್ಯಾಯುಧವನ್ನೂ ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ. 

ರಾವಣನು ಬಲಿಯ ಮಗಳ ಮಗಳು ವಜ್ರಜ್ವಾಲೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣನ ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ. ಬಳಿಕ  

ವಿಭೀಷಣನ ಮದುವೆಯನ್ನು ಗಂಧರ್ವ ರಾಜ ಶೈಲೂಷನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಸರಮಾಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ.

ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ಮಂದೋದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ಮಗನೇ ಮೇಘನಾದ.ಇವನೇ ಮುಂದೆ ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧನಾದ.

ವರರೂಪದ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನ ಶಾಪ ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣನನ್ನು ಬಾಧಿಸತೊಡಗಿತು.ರಾವಣನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಶಯನಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟ. ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಖವಾಗಿ ಮಲಗಿದ.

ಇತ್ತ ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ವರದ ಪಿತ್ತ ನೆತ್ತಿಗೇರಿತು. ಮಾನವ-ದಾನವ- ಯಕ್ಷ -ಗಂಧರ್ವ- ಕಿನ್ನರ -ದೇವತೆಗಳು-ಋಷಿಗಳು ...

ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರಿವರೆನ್ನದೆ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ಸೊತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಾಶಪಡಿಸತೊಡಗಿದ.

ಅವನ ದುರಾಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡ ಕುಬೇರನು ಹಿತವಚನಗಳನ್ನು ದೂತನ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೇಳಿ  ಕಳಿಸಿದ. ಸಿಟ್ಟಿಗೆದ್ದ ರಾವಣನು ಕುಬೇರನನ್ನು ಧಿಕ್ಕರಿಸಿ ಬಂದ ದೂತನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು  ತನ್ನವರಿಗೆ ತಿನ್ನಲು ಕೊಟ್ಟ . 

ಬಳಿಕ ಮೂರುಲೋಕಗಳನ್ನು ಗೆಲ್ಲಲು ಸೇನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟ.

Getting beaten up by giving a cane to a enemy - This became the situation of the gods !

The monsters who were hiding learnt about the invincibility of Ravana and came to Ravana from the subterranean region and hailed for Ravana. Sumaali made Ravana realize his strength and suggested him to take Lanka under his control from Kubera ! Initially Ravana did not agree. But at last when Prahastha too compelled him ,he sent Prahastha himself as his ambassador to Kubera. He told him to return Lanka to the monsters. As per the suggestion of the father Vishravasa, Kubera handed over Lanka to Ravana and then he travelled towards Kailasa along with his followers. He settled down there by building ' Alakaapuri '.

Ravana and the monsters settled down in Lanka. Lanka became the state of Ravana. 

Ravana got his sister Shoorpanakha married off to Vidyujiwhwa.

Mandodari the daughter of Mayaasura and Hema became the queen of Ravana. 

Mayaavi, Dumdubhi were her brothers. Mayasura gave the artillery Shaktyayudha which he had, to Ravana. Ravana got Kumbhakarna married off to Vajrajwaala ,the daughter of Bali's daughter. Later he got Vibhishana married off to Saramaa ,the daughter of the king of the celestial beings Shailoosha.

The son whom Ravana had begotten from Mandodari was Meghanaada. He was the one who later popularly known as Indrajith. 

The curse of Brahma which was in the form of boon began to trouble Kumbhakarna. Ravana got Kumbhakarna built a beautiful bedroom. 

Kumbhakarna slept comfortably inside it.

On the other hand, the power of the boon got into the head of Ravana. He began to destroy the the wealth of mortal - demon - yaksha - celestial beings - demigod - gods - saints without considering anyone. 

Kubera who saw his misdemeanor sent good advice to Ravana through his messenger. Ravana who got angry disdained Kubera and killed the messenger who had come there and gave his corpse to his people as food. Later he set out to win the 3 worlds.
