ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೧೩೭

ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳ ನಿದ್ದೆ 

ಆರು ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಗಿಯಬೇಕೇ??

ರಕ್ಕಸರು ತಂದದುಲ್ಲೆವನ್ನೂ

 ತಿಂದು ಕುಡಿದಾದ ಬಳಿಕ ಸುಪ್ರಸನ್ನನಾದ ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣ ತನ್ನನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ ಕಾರಣವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ. ಆಗ ಯೂಪಾಕ್ಷನೆಂಬ ರಕ್ಕಸನು ಅಂದಿನ ತನಕ ನಡೆದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ, ರಾವಣನೂ ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋತನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಿದ. ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡ ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣ ಒಡನೆಯೇ ಅಣ್ಣ ರಾವಣನನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲು

 ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ತಿಂದು ಕುಡಿದು ಹೊರಟನು.

ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣನ ಭೀಕರವಾದ ಆಕಾರವನ್ನು ಕಂಡ ವಾನರವೀರರು ಭೀತರಾದರು.

ಓಡಿದರು.

ಬಹಳ ದೂರದಿಂದಲೇ ಪರ್ವತಾಕಾರದ ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣನು ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.

ರಾಮ ವಿಭೀಷಣನಲ್ಲಿ 

ಅವನ ಕುರಿತು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ವಿಭೀಷಣನು-

ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣ ವಿಶ್ರವಸನ ಮಗ.ಹುಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಮಹಾತೇಜಸ್ವಿ, 

ಶಕ್ತಿ ಶಾಲಿ.

ಹಸಿವು ಇವನ ಶಕ್ತಿ.  

ದೇವ-ದಾನವ-ಗಂಧರ್ವರಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ತನಕ ಇವನನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿದವರೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.

 ಇಂದ್ರನು ವಜ್ರಾಯುಧದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಹರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಇವನು ಐರಾವತದ ದಂತವನ್ನೇ ಮುರಿದು ಇಂದ್ರನೆದೆಗೆ ಅದರಿಂದಲೇ ಇರಿದವನು.

ಪ್ರಜಾ ಪೀಡಕ.

ಋಷಿ ಪೀಡಕ.

ಪರಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಪೀಡಕ.

ಅವೇ ಇವನಿಗೆ ಮುಳ್ಳಾದವು.

ನಿರಪರಾಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಲು 

ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಇವನಿಗೆ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳು ಮಲಗಿದ್ದು ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಮಾತ್ರ ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಬೇಕಾದ್ದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.

ಇದೀಗ ಅಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದ ಇವನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅಣ್ಣನ ಅನುಮತಿ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ- 

ಎಂದು ವಿವರಿಸಿದ.

ಬಳಿಕ ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣನನ್ನೆದುರಿಸಲು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಸೇನಾ ವ್ಯೂಹವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಲೂ ಅವನು ರಾಮನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿನಂತಸಿದನು.

ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣ ರಾವಣನನ್ನು ಕಂಡ.ಕಾರಣಗಳು ಗೊತ್ತಾದಾಗ 

ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ರಾವಣನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿದ.ರಾವಣ ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಪ್ಪಿದ್ದಾನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದ. 

ಆದರೆ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಣ್ಣನ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಗೆಲ್ಲುವ ಪಣತೊಟ್ಟು ಅವನ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಶತ್ರುಸಂಹಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ರಣರಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟ...

Should the sleep of 6 months end in 6 days ? Kumbhakarna consumed and drank everything that the monsters had brought . Kumbhakarna was pleased and he asked the monsters the reason for waking him up. During the time the monster named Yuupaaksha narrated all the incidents that had taken place so far and told him by stressing the fact that Ravana was defeated in the battle. 

Kumbhakarna who got angry hearing about the defeat of Ravana went to see his brother Ravana immediately after eating and drinking again. The monkey warriors ,who saw the gigantic appearance of Kumbhakarna got startled. They ran . The gigantic Kumbhakarna was seen from the far distance itself. Rama asked Vibhishana about Kumbhakarna. During the time Vibhishana told Rama that Kumbhakarna was the son of Vishravasa. He was brilliant and powerful since his birth. Hunger was his strength. No one could ever defeat him among Gods, monsters and celestial beings till the date. He was the one who had broken the ivory of Airavatha the Elephant of Indra and stabbed his chest with the same ivory, when Indra attacked him with 'Vajraayudha'.

Harasser of the citizens, 

Harasser of the saints and sages, 

Harasser of the women. 

And that itself became a problem for him.

Brahma with an intention of safeguarding the innocent people,  gave Kumbhakarna the freedom to sleep for 6 months and to stay awake only one day and to eat whatever he wished to eat. Vibhishana explained Rama that then he woke up in an odd time and he was going to take the permission of his brother for the war. Later Vibhishana requested Rama to form a separate army to confront Kumbhakarna. 

Kumbhakarna saw Ravana. When he came to know about the reasons, he rebuked Ravana for the evil deed that he had done. He explained where all Ravana had gone wrong. But eventually he decided to win the battle for his brother and left for the battlefield to annihilate the enemies by taking the blessings of Ravana.
