 ಮಾರುತಿರಥ!!

ರಾಮ ರಾವಣನನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಲು ಸಜ್ಜಾದ.ಆಗ ಮಾರುತಿಯು ಬಂದು - ಪ್ರಭುವೇ, ಮಹಾವಿಷ್ಣು ಗರುಡಾರೂಢನಾಗಿ ಸುರಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದಂತೆ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಗಲೇರಿ ಈ ರಕ್ಕಸರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸು- ಎಂದನು.ರಾಮನು ಕೂಡಲೇ ಮಾರುತಿರಥಾರೂಢನಾದ!!

ಲಂಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟ ಮಾರುತಿಯ ಹೆಗಲೇರಿ; ಮಾತಿನ ಬಾಣಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಸುಡಲು ಬಂದ ರಾಮನನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ರಾವಣ ಸ್ತಿಮಿತ ಕಳಕೊಂಡನು.ಮಾರುತಿಯನ್ನು ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿಸಿ ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನೆಸೆದಾಗ ಮಾರುತಿಯು ಗಾಯವಡೆದನು.

ಇದನ್ನು ಕಂಡ ರಾಮ ರೋಷಗೊಂಡು ಬಡ್ಡಿಗೆ ಬಡ್ಡಿ ಚಕ್ರಬಡ್ಡಿಯೆನ್ನುವಂತೆ ರಾವಣನ ರಥ ಸಾರಥಿ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಬಾಣಗಳಿಂದ ನುಚ್ಚುನೂರು ಮಾಡಿದನು.ಇಂದ್ರನ ವಜ್ರಾಯುಧದ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೂ ಬಗ್ಗದ ಜಗ್ಗದ ರಾವಣ;ರಾಮ ಬಾಣಗಳ ಏಟಿಗೆ ತತ್ತರಿಸಿ ನಿರುತ್ತರನಾದ.ಆಯಾಸಗೊಂಡ,ನಿರಾಯುಧನಾದ ರಾವಣನನ್ನು ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಸುಧಾರಿಸಿ ಬರಹೇಳಿ ರಾಮ  ಬೀಳ್ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. 

ರಣರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೋಲಿನ ಮೊದಲ ಕಹಿರುಚಿಯುಂಡ ರಾವಣ ಅವಮಾನಿತನಾದ.

ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮಾನವನಿಂದ ಸೋಲಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟೆನಲ್ಲಾ!ಎಂಬ ಚಿಂತೆ ಕಾಡಿತು.

'ನರರಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ  ಭಯವಿದೆ'ಎಂಬ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ವಾಕ್ಯ ನೆನಪಾಯಿತು.

 ಇಕ್ಷ್ವಾಕು ಕುಲದ ಅನರಣ್ಯನ ಶಾಪ ನೆನಪಾಯಿತು. ಅವಮಾನಿತಳಾದ ವೇದವತಿಯೇ ಸೀತೆಯಾಗಿ ಕಾಡುತ್ತಿರಬಹುದೇ ಎಂದು ಸಂದೇಹಿಸಿದನು.

ಪಾರ್ವತಿ,ನಂದೀಶ್ವರ, ರಂಭೆ, ಋಷಿಗಳು ಶಪಿಸಿದುದನ್ನು ನೆನದನು.

ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕನಿಗೆ ಭಯಾವರಿಸಿತು.

ರಾವಣ ಸೋಲನ್ನೊಪ್ಪಿದನು!!ಸಾವೊಂದು ಬಾಕಿ!

ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವೆಂಬಂತೆ - ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣನನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸಲು ಹೇಳಿ;ಅವನು ಯುದ್ಧ ಮುಂದುರಿಸಲೆಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.ರಕ್ಕಸರಿಗೆ ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣನನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸುವುದೇ ಒಂದು ಯುದ್ಧವಾಯಿತು!!

 ಗುಹೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದ  ಅವನನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸಲು-

.ಅವನ ಆಹಾರವಾದ ಮಾಂಸ, ನೆತ್ತರು, ಮದ್ಯ

.ಸುಗಂಧ ದ್ರವ್ಯ 

.ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲು ಭೇರಿ ವಾದ್ಯಗಳು

.ಆನೆ ಕುದುರೆಗಳು

.ಒನಕೆ ಈಟಿ...ಆಯುಧಗಳು

...ಹೀಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಆರುದಿನಗಳ ಹಿಂದಷ್ಟೇ ಮಲಗಿದ ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣ ಎದ್ದನು.

Maaruthiratha !! (The chariot Maaruthi !!).

Rama equipped himself to confront Ravana. During the time Hanuman came and says to Rama - " My Lord, slay the monsters by climbing on my shoulders as the great Vishnu slayed the monsters by assuming the form of Garuda ". Rama became Maaruthiratharooda( which means Rama sat on Maaruthi  who became the chariot)immediately !!

Ravana lost his stability when he saw Rama who came to burn him with the arrow of words ,on the shoulders of Hanuman who had burnt Lanka. Maaruthi got hit when Ravana unleashed arrows by targetting him which outraged Rama. Rama as the saying, compound interest to interest,  destroyed everything the chariot as well as charioteer of Ravana with his arrows. Ravana who was not even affected and collapsed by the 'Vajraayudha' of Indra , was shivered by the blow of Rama's arrows. Rama sent Ravana off to his palace who was exhausted and who had no artilleries .And asked him to recover and come.

Ravana got humiliated who tasted the bitter experience of the failure in the battlefield. 

He was haunted by the thought that he was defeated by an ordinary human being !

" You have the threat from the humans " - The words of Brahma was recalled. 

The curse of Aranya who was from Ikshvaku clan, remembered. He suspected that Vedavathi herself who was humiliated might be haunting him as Seetha. He remembered the curse of Paarvathi, Nandeeshwara, Rambha and the saints.

The fear enveloped the terrorist.

Ravana accepted his defeat !! Only the death was remaining !

As an another try -

He commanded to wake Kumbhakarna up ; and commanded him to continue the war. For the monsters,  waking up Kumbhakarna itself became a war !!

To wake Kumbhakarna up who was sleeping in the cave,

• The food he used to eat such as meat , blood, spirit, 

• Scents, 

• trumpets to wake him up,

• Elephants, horses.

• long wooden pestle, spear.....other weapons...everything was used . After using all those things Kumbhakarna woke up who had fallen asleep six days back.
