ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೧೩೮

ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ  ಹೊರಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಂಡ ರಾವಣನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಆಶಾವಾದಿಯಾದ.ಅರ್ಧ ಯುದ್ಧ ಗೆದ್ದಂತಹ ತೃಪ್ತಿ ಅವನ ಮೊಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಿತು! 

 ತ್ರಿಶೂಲಧಾರಿ ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣ!  ಆರುನೂರು ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಳಷ್ಟೆತ್ತರದ ಬಿಲ್ಲಾಳು! ಒಂದು ನೂರು ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಳಷ್ಟಗಲದ ಮಹಾವೀರ!!ಅವನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಮಹಾಸೇನೆ!!

ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣನ ಗಾತ್ರ ನೋಡಿಯೇ ವಾನರವೀರರು ದಿಕ್ಕಾಪಾಲು!ಅವನ ಗರ್ಜನೆಗೆ ಅದುರಿ ಉದುರಿದವರೆನಿತೋ!!ಆದರೂ ಅಂಗದನ ಅಭಯದಿಂದ ಹುರಿದುಂಬಿಸುವಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣನನ್ನೆದುರಿಸಲು ಸಜ್ಜಾದರು.ಕಲ್ಲು ಬಂಡೆ ಪರ್ವತಗಳನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ ಆಕ್ರಮಿಸಿದರು! ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಹೊಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಣಿಸೆಹಣ್ಣು ತೊಳೆದಂತೆ ವ್ಯರ್ಥ!

ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣ ಗದೆಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸುತ್ತಾ ೮೭೦೦ ವಾನರರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.ವಾನರರೆಸೆದ ಪರ್ವತಗಳು ಅವನನ್ನು ತಲಪದೆ ವಾನರರ ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ಬಿದ್ದು ಸಾವು ನೋವುಗಳಾದವು.ಮತ್ತೆ ಕೆಲವು ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣನ ಸೇನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು  ರಥ ಕುದುರೆ ಆನೆಗಳು ನಷ್ಟವಾದವು.ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವೀರರು ಸೋಲುತ್ತಿರಲು ಹನುಮನು ಎದುರಾದನು.ಅವನೆದೆಗೆ ಶಕ್ತ್ಯಾಯುಧವನ್ನೆಸೆದಾಗ ರಕ್ತ ಕಾರಿದನು.ನೀಲನೆದುರಾದನು.ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸೋತು ಸುಣ್ಣವಾದರು.ಆದರೂ ಛಲ ಬಿಡದೆ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಆಕ್ರಮಿಸಿದರು! ಕೆಲವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ತಿನ್ನತೊಡಗಿದನು.ವಾನರವೀರರು ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಶರಣಾದರು.

ಇದರೆಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಗದ ಸುಗ್ರೀವ ಹನುಮರು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವನೆಸೆದ ಮಹಾಶೂಲವನ್ನು ಹನುಮನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಮುರಿದು ಹಾಕಿದನು.ಎಚ್ಚರದಪ್ಪಿದ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನನ್ನೆತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಲಂಕೆಗೆ  ಹೊರಟಾಗ  ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಯಿತು. ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣನ ಕಿವಿ ಮೂಗುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಚ್ಚಿ ಹರಿದುಹಾಕಿದಾಗ ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನನ್ನು ಕೆಳಕ್ಕೆಸೆದನು.ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾರಿದ ಸುಗ್ರೀವ ಮತ್ತೆ ರಾಮನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣ ಮರಳಿ ಯುದ್ಧಾರಂಭ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

Ravana became optimistic again seeing Kumbhakarna who left for the battle. The satisfaction of winning the battle partially was appeared on his face !

Kumbhakarna was being armed with trident ! The archer with a height of 600 bows ! The great valiant with a width of 100 bows !! Behind him the great and huge army !!

The monkey warriors ran being scattered when they saw the gigantic size of Kumbhakarna...! There were countless people who felt shaken and fallen because of his roar !! But they all were encouraged and boosted up by Angada who assured them of safety and they all got equipped to face Kumbhakarna. They assaulted him with stones, boulders and mountains !

Everything went in vain as washing the tamarind in the stream !

Kumbhakarna killed 8700 monkeys with his club by swinging that. The mountains without falling on Kumbhakarna which the monkeys had thrown on him, fell on themselves and caused many deaths and sufferings. And some fell on the army of Kumbhakarna which costed him his chariot, horses and elephants. Hanuman was confronted when the ordinary monkey warriors were failing to face Kumbhakarna. When Kumbhakarna threw Shaktyayudha towards Hanuman it hit his chest and Hanuman began vomiting the blood.  Neela was confronted. Everyone was defeated. Still without losing hopes, being determined they attacked together ! Kumbhakarna began to consume some by killing them. At last the monkey warriors went to ShriRama seeking protection. 

Amidst of all these,  Angada ,Sugreeva and Hanuman attacked Kumbhakarna together.  Hanuman caught and broke the great trident which Kumbhakarna had thrown towards him. When Kumbhakarna was carrying the unconscious Sugreeva to Lanka, on the way Sugreeva regained his consciousness . When Sugreeva bit and tore the ears and nose of Kumbhakarna ,he threw Sugreeva to the ground. Sugreeva who jumped from there came to Rama. 

Kumbhakarna began the war again.
