ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ರಾವಣನು ನಡೆಸಿದ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೈಕೊಡಲು ಬೇರೆ ದಾರಿ ಕಾಣದೆ ಮಾಯಾವಿದ್ಯೆಯ ಮೊರೆಹೊಕ್ಕ!ಈ ಸಲ ವಿದ್ಯುಜ್ಜಿಹ್ವನೆಂಬ ಮಾಯಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ನಕಲಿ ರಾಮಶಿರವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧ ಪಡಿಸಲು ಹೇಳಿದನು.ಬಳಿಕ ರಾವಣನು ಅಶೋಕ ವನದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸೀತೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ರಾಮ ಇರುಳು ನಡೆದ ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಇತರ ವಾನರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ.ವಿದ್ಯುಜ್ಜಿಹ್ವನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವನು ಕಡಿದು ತಂದನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾದ ರಾಮಶಿರವನ್ನು,ರಾಮನ ನಕಲಿ ಬಿಲ್ಲು ಬಾಣಗಳ ಸಹಿತ ತೋರಿಸಿದನು.ಅಷ್ಟು ಸಾಲದೆಂಬಂತೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು ಜೀವ ಸಹಿತ ಹನುಮಾದಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮರಳಿ ಹೋದನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ದುಃಖಿತ ಸೀತೆ ನಂಬುವಂತೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

'ಮಹಾಸಾಗರವನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಬಂದವನು ದನದ ಗೊರಸು ಮುಳುಗುವಷ್ಟಿರುವ ನೀರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿ ಸತ್ತಂತೆ ರಾಮನು ಗತಿಸಿದನೇ!'ಎಂದು ಪರಿಪರಿಯಾಗಿ ಸೀತೆ ಗೋಳಿಟ್ಟು ಬದುಕುವಾಸೆಯನ್ನು ತೊರೆದು  ತನ್ನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಕೊಲ್ಲುವಂತೆ ರಾವಣನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಳು.

ಇದೇ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಚಾರನೊಬ್ಬ ಬಂದು ರಾಮನು ಆಕ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಲು;ರಾವಣನು ಯುದ್ಧ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆಗಾಗಿ ಓಲಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.

ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ಅಳಿವ ಸಮಯ!

ಸೀತೆಗೆ ಉಳಿವ ಸಮಯ!!

ಅಂದು ಹನುಮನಿದ್ದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾವಣನಿಂದ ಬೆದರಿಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ತ್ರಿಜಟೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಇಂದು ಸರಮೆಯು ಸೀತೆಯ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಒದಗಿ ಬಂದಳು.ರಾವಣನ ಕುತಂತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ;ಇದು ಮಾಯಾಶಿರವೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿ ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಪಡಸಿದಳು.

ಅಷ್ಟು ಸಾಲದೆಂಬಂತೆ ರಾವಣನ ಆಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಮಂತ್ರಾಲೋಚನೆಯ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು,ಯುದ್ಧ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸೀತೆಯ ಕೋರಿಕೆಯನ್ವಯ ತಿಳಿದು;ಅದನ್ನು ಸೀತೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಆಕೆಯ  ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಇರುವ ತನ್ನ ಒಲವನ್ನು ಆತ್ಮೀಯತೆಯಿಂದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತ ಪಡಿಸಿದಳು. ಬದುಕಿದೆಯಾ ಬಡಜೀವವೇ!ಎಂದು  ಸೀತೆಯು ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕ ನಿಟ್ಟುಸಿರನ್ನು ಚೆಲ್ಲಿದಳು.

Ravana surrendered himself to Mayavidya ( which means ability to being invisible) when all his plan to take Seetha under his control, failed ! This time he asked a charmer called Vidyujihwa to prepare a fake head of Rama as if it had been cut off by him. After that Ravana went to Ashoka Vana to see Seetha and told her that Rama was killed along with other monkey warriors in the battle field which took place in the last night. He called Vidhyajihwa and showed her the fake head as if it had been cut off and archer of Rama. More than this he said that Lakshmana returned along with Hanuman and a few monkey soldiers alive with a heavy heart. Ravana narrated a false story in a way that the miserable Seetha could believe that. 

As the one who crossed the Mahaasaagara  ,died in the water in which the hoof of a cow sinks ,Rama too died - In this way Seetha lamented for Rama . She lost hopes in life and asked Ravana to kill her too.

During the same time, a messenger came and informed Ravana that Rama was encroaching Lanka ; Ravana went to call assembly for the arrangements of the war.

The time to perish for Ravana !

The time to live for Seetha !!

Then, when Hanuman was there and threatened by Ravana, Trijata helped him ,in the same way Sarame came to protect Seetha. She consoled Seetha by disclosing the conspiracy of Ravana. She proved that the head that was shown to her was fake. In addition to that she also gave information about the secret parley of Ravana which was happening in his court . She expressed her affection and intimacy towards Seetha by informing her about the preparation of the war on her request.  As the proverb says ' Badukideya Badajeevave ' (which means the poor life has survived) Seetha took a sigh of a relief.
