 ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯನಮ:

ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೧೨೭

 "ಹೋಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೂವೂ ಮುಳ್ಳಾಗುತ್ತದೆ" - ಈ ಮಾತು ರಾವಣನ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಯಿತು.

ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಭೀಷಣನ ಹಿತವಚನ ಕಹಿಯಾಯಿತು!

ಸತಿ ಮಂಡೋದರಿಯ ಹಿತವಾದ ಮಾತುಗಳು ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಹೋಮವಾಯಿತು!

ಕುಂಭಕರ್ಣ ಹಿತವನ್ನು ಬಯಸಿ ನಿದ್ರಿಸಿದ್ದೇ ಬಂತು!

ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಗೂಢಚಾರರೂ ರಾಮನು ದುರ್ಜಯನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಸಂಧಿ ಸೂಕ್ತವೆಂಬ ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದಾಗ ಸಿಟ್ಟಿಗೆದ್ದು ಜರೆದದ್ದೇ ಬಂತು!..

ಇಷ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆದ ಬಳಿಕ ರಾಮ ಸೇನೆಯ ಸೇನಾ ದಂಡನಾಯಕರ,

ಪ್ರಧಾನ ದಳಪತಿಗಳ,

ಮಹಾನ್ ವಾನರವೀರರ ಪರಿಚಯವನ್ನು ಅವರ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಗಳ ಸಹಿತ   ಶುಕ ಸಾರಣರಿಂದ ಪಡೆದು; ರಾಮನ ಸೇನಾಸಾಗರವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಯೂ,

ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಭೀಷಣನು ರಾಮನೊಂದಿಗೆ ತ್ರಿಕರಣ ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಕೈಜೋಡಿಸಿದುದನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣಾರೆ ಕಂಡ ಮೇಲೂ.... 

"ಸೀತೆಯ ಕೊಡೆ,ಯುದ್ಧವ ಬಿಡೆ" ಎನ್ನುವ 

ರಾವಣನ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಏನನ್ನಲಿ!!? 

ಮಾಡಿದ್ದುಣ್ಣೋ ಮಾರಾಯಾ!!ಆದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ  ರಾವಣನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಅವನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಉಣುವುದಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲ!!?

ತನ್ನವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗುಣಿಸಿ ಕೊನೆ..ಗೆ ತಾನೂ ಉಣ್ಣುತ್ತಾನೆ!!

ಶುಕ-ಸಾರಣರು ತೋರಿಸಿ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದ-

ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರನ್ನು,

ಲಂಕೆಯ ಭಾವೀ ರಾಜನಾಗಿ ರಾಮನಿಂದ ಪಟ್ಟಾಭಿಷಿಕ್ತನಾದ ತಮ್ಮ  ವಿಭೀಷಣನನ್ನು, ವಾನರರಾಜ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನನ್ನು,

ವಾಲಿಯ ಮಗ ಅಂಗದನನ್ನು,

ಲಂಕೆಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರೇ ಎಂಬಂತೆ  ಸುಟ್ಟ ಮಾರುತಿಯನ್ನು, ಜಾಂಬವಂತನನ್ನು, ಸುಷೇಣ-ಕುಮುದ,

ನಲ-ನೀಲ..ಮುಂತಾದರವನ್ನು 

ನೋಡಿ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ರಾವಣನು  ಹಿಂಜರಿದ!ಆದರೆ ಆ ಹಿಂಜರಿಕೆಯು ಮರುಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಶುಕ-ಸಾರಣರ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಿಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಬದಲಾಯಿತು!ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಯ ಹಿತೈಷಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬೈದಟ್ಟಿದ!

"ಉಳಿಯುವ ದಾರಿ ಅಳಿಯಿತು!

ಅಳಿಯುವ ದಾರಿ ಉಳಿಯಿತು!!"

'Even flowers become thorns when the time is bad ' - This saying turned true in the case of Ravana. 

The good advice of the younger brother Vibhishana became bitter !

The good advice of the wife Mandodari went in vain !

Kumbhakarna wished good and fell asleep !

The trustworthy spies said that Rama was unbeatable and advised Ravana to compromise with him. Ravana was furious and rebuked them ! Nothing else could be done by Ravana !...

Even after learning about the strength and efficiency of the chief leaders ,the general commanders, and collecting information about the great monkey warriors from Shuka - Sarana ,even after witnessing the great army of Rama and the brother Vibhishana who joined his hand with Rama by body, speech and mind ...Ravana did not change his mind...

What could be said to Ravana who said that it was impossible to give Seetha and back out from the war !!?

Eat what you have prepared !! But here, Ravana was not the only one who had to eat what he had prepared !!?

He feeds everyone and then at the end he eats too !!

Ravana hesitated for a moment when he saw Rama - Lakshmana ,whom Shuka - Saarana had introduced, Vibhishana who would be the king of Lanka,  Sugreeva ,the king of monkey warriors ,

Angada, the son of Vaali ,

Maaruthi who burnt Lanka in front of his own eyes ,

Jaambavantha, 

Sushena - Kumuda,

Nala - Neela and others ! But the very next moment his hesitation turned into anger on Shuka - Saarana ! He drove away even his last well wishers out of anger !

" The way to the survival perished !

The way to perish, remained !!
