ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೮೨

ರಾಮ ಸುಗ್ರೀವರ ಗೆಳೆತನ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಯಿತು.ಒಪ್ಪಂದವೂ ಆಯಿತು.ಆದರೆ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನಿಗೆ ಒಳಗೊಳಗೇ ಸಂಶಯ-ವಾಲಿಯಂತಹ ಮಹಾಬಲಶಾಲಿಯನ್ನು ರಾಮ ಸೋಲಿಸಬಲ್ಲನೇ? ಎಂದು.ರಾಮನಲ್ಲಿ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳದೆ ವಾಲಿಯ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಹೇಳತೊಡಗಿದ-

ರವಿಯುದಯದ ಮುನ್ನ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಸಮುದ್ರದಿಂದ ಪೂರ್ವ ಸಮುದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಸಮುದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ, ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಉತ್ತರ ಸಮುದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅನಾಯಾಸವಾಗಿ ಹಾರತ್ತಾನೆ.ಎಷ್ಟೆತ್ತರದ ಪರ್ವತವೇ ಇರಲಿ ಲೀಲಾಜಾಲವಾಗಿ ಏರುತ್ತಾನೆ.ದುಂದುಭಿ ಎನ್ನುವ ಮಹಾ ಬಲಶಾಲಿ ರಕ್ಕಸನು ಕೋಣನ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವನನ್ನು ಸದೆಬಡಿದು ಅವನ ಶವವನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಯೋಜನದಷ್ಟು ದೂರಕ್ಕೆಸೆದ ದಣಿವರಿಯದ ಬಲಶಾಲಿ.(ಆದರೆ ಅವನ ಶವವು ಮತಂಗ ವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ಆ ವನವು ಅಪವಿತ್ರವಾಗಲು ಮತಂಗ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳು ' ವಾಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವನ ಅನುಚರರು ಈ ವನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದೇ ಆದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ನಾಶವಾಗಲಿ ಎಂಬ ಶಾಪ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.ಅದು ನನಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಯಿತು) ಇಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಏಳು ಸಾಲವೃಕ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಒಂದೊಂದನ್ನು ಹಲವು ಬಾರಿ ಧ್ವಂಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.ಅಂತಹವನನ್ನು ರಾಮನು ಎದುರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.ಒಂದೊಮ್ಮೆ ರಾಮನು ಒಂದೇ ಬಾಣದಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಸಾಲವೃಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ಸೀಳಿದನೆಂದಾದರೆ, ದುಂದುಭಿಯ ಮೂಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ಕಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಚಿಮ್ಮಿ ಇನ್ನೂರು ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಳಷ್ಟು ದೂರ ಎಸೆದರೆ ವಾಲಿಯು ಸತ್ತನೆಂದೇ ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.ರಾಮನು ಈ ಎರಡು ಸಾಹಸಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ತೋರಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.ಮತ್ತೆ ರಾಮನಲ್ಲೂ ಇದೇ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ವಿನೀತನಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.ನೀನು ಅವಮಾನಿತನಾಗಬಾರದೆಂದು ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದನು.

ರಾಮನು ರಕ್ಕಸನ ಎಲುಬನ್ನು ಹತ್ತು ಯೋಜನದಷ್ಟು ದೂರಕ್ಕೆಸೆದು;ಒಂದೇ ಬಾಣದಿಂದ ಏಳೂ ಸಾಲವೃಕ್ಷಗಳನ್ನು ಭೇದಿಸುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ತನ್ನ ಅಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿದನು.

ರಾಮಬಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನಿಗೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಬಂತು.

The friendship between Rama and Sugreeva grew stronger and became unbreakable. They also committed to the agreement. But still Sugreeva doubted if Rama could defeat Vaali who was so mighty. He didn't say that directly but he hinted it through describing the valor of Vaali. Sugreeva said that -

Vaali could fly and jump from the west sea to the east sea, from there to the south sea and from there to the north sea without getting fatigued, even before the sunrise. He could climb mountains of any peak effortlessly. He was so mighty that he had defeated and slayed the mighty monster named Dundubhi who had invited Vaali for a duel by disguising himself as a male buffalo. After slaying the monster, Vaali had thrown his body one yojana away.( But the body that he had thrown, fell into the Mathanga forest and made the sacred forest defiled. Mathanga Maharshi was outraged by Vaali and he cursed him and his followers to get annihilated if they entered the forest. And that helped Sugreeva later ). Sugreeva pointed at 7 Saalavrukshas which were there and said that Vaali had destroyed each Saalavruksha many times and Rama had to face such a mighty Vaali. Sugreeva told Lakshmana that in case Rama split a Saalavruksha in a single arrow and  threw the bones of Dundhubhi 200 bows away then he would assume that Vaali was dead. He told Lakshmana that he expected Rama to do these two adventures. 

Then he told the same thing to Rama with courtesy. And further told him that he did not want Rama to be humiliated. 

Rama proved his valor and uncommon efficiency by throwing the bons of the monster 10 yojana away and splitting the 7 Saalavrukshas in a single arrow. Finally Sugreeva believed in the efficiency of Rama.
