 ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯನಮ:

ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೭೫

ಅಣ್ಣ-ತಮ್ಮ, ಅಕ್ಕ-ತಂಗಿ, ತಾಯಿ-ತಂದೆ,ಗಂಡ-ಹೆಂಡತಿ,

ಅಜ್ಜಿ-ಪುಳ್ಳಿ,ಮನೆ-ಮಠ....ಮುಂತಾದ ಜೋಡಿ ಪದಗಳು ಕೇವಲ ಜೋಡಿ ಪದಗಳಲ್ಲ!ಇವು ಒಂದಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಪೂರಕವಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತವೆ -ಮಾಡಬೇಕು- ಮಾಡಲಿರುವ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳು ಎಂದೂ ಸಾರುತ್ತವೆ-ಎನ್ನುವುದನ್ನು ರಾಮಾಯಣದ  ಸೀತಾಪಹರಣದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು.ರಾಮನು ವನವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟಾಗ ಕನಲಿದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ ತಂದೆ ದಶರಥನನ್ನು ನಿಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಗರ್ಜಿಸಿದಾಗ ರಾಮನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ಕ್ರಮ , ಅವನನ್ನು ವಿವೇಚಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಶೈಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಈಗಿನ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೆ 'ಆಪ್ತಸಂವಾದ' ಅನನ್ಯ.ಅದೇ ರಾಮ ಸೀತಾಪಹರಣವಾದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸ್ಥಿಮಿತವನ್ನು ಕಳಕೊಂಡು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ನಾಶಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೊರಟಾಗ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ ತನ್ನಣ್ಣನನ್ನು ಸಾಂತ್ವನದ ಮಾತುಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿವೇಚಿಸುವಂತೆ  ಮಾಡಿ ಕಾರ್ಯೋನ್ಮುಖಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಪರಿ ಅನನ್ಯ! ತನ್ನನ್ನು ರಾಮ ನಿಂದಿಸಿದರೂ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸ್ಥಿಮಿತವನ್ನು ಕಳಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವ ದಾರಿಗೆ ಕರೆತಂದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನ ಜಾಣ್ಮೆ ಅಭಿನಂದನೀಯ!ಜಾಣ್ಮೆಯ ಹಿಂದೆ ಇರುವ ಅವನ ಅಗಾಧ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಯೂ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹ.ನಾವು ಕೌಟುಂಬಿಕವಾಗಿ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕವಾಗಿ.... ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿರಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ಇದಕ್ಕೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ?

ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನ ಹಲವು ಸಾಂತ್ವನದ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖನೀಯ ಮಾತುಗಳು-

.ಸಕಲಗುಣಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣನಾದ ನೀನೇ ಸೀತಾವಿಯೋಗದ ಈ ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕ ದುಃಖವನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದಿದ್ದರೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ಪಾಡೇನು?

. ಆಪತ್ತು ಸಂಭವಿಸದ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಿವೆಯೇ? ಅವುಗಳೆಂದೂ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಲ್ಲ.ವಿವೇಕಿಗಳಾದವರು ಧೃತಿಗೆಡದೆ ಮುಂದಿನ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬೇಕು.

.ಸ್ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೇರಿದ ನಹುಷ,ಕುಲ ಪುರೋಹಿತ ವಸಿಷ್ಠ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳು,ಈ ಭೂದೇವಿ,ರವಿ ಚಂದ್ರರು, ಇಂದ್ರನೇ ಮೊದಲಾದ ದೇವತೆಗಳು...ಆಪತ್ತಿಗೊಳಗಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಅವನ್ನೆದುರಿಸಿ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲವೇ?

. ದುಃಖ ಕ್ರೋಧಗಳಿಗೆ ವಶನಾಗದೆ ಆಗಬೇಕಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆಲೋಚಿಸು

. ನಾವು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಆದರೆ ನಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದ ಯಾವುದೋ ಕರ್ಮಫಲವನ್ನು ನಾವು ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ.ಯುಕ್ತಾಯುಕ್ತ,ಕರ್ತವ್ಯಾರ್ತವ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಯಥಾರ್ಥ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ಆಲೋಚಿಸು

. ನಿನ್ನ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನಳೆಯಲು  ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ

‌.ಮಲಗಿದ್ದ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನನ್ನದು

.ಈಗ ನಮ್ಮ ನಿಜವಾದ ಶತ್ರು ಯಾರೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಹಿಡಿದು ಅವನನ್ನು ನಾಶಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯವಾಗಬೇಕು.

ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನ ಹಿತನುಡಿ,ಆಪ್ತನುಡಿ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾಯಿತು.ಹುಡುಕುವ ದಾರಿಗೆ ರಾಮನು ಬಂದನು!

Elder brother -- younger brother, elder sister -- younger sister, mother -- father, husband  -- wife, grandmother -- grandchild, home  -- monastery....and many other word pairs are not just word pairs!

These words proclaim that these are the relationships which work, should work and which are supposed to work by complementing each other. This can be seen in the Raamayana during the time of Seetha's abduction. 

When Rama was about to leave for the exile, the enraged Lakshmana thundered that he would slay his father Dasharatha. But the way Rama calmed him down and made him think or the way he 'counselled Lakshmana, the term that we use today , was truly unique.  The same Rama who calmed his brother down, lost control over himself and claimed that he would destroy everything  when Seetha was abducted. The way Lakshmana consoled Rama through his words and the way he made Rama think rationally and made him focus on the duty of searching Seetha,  was incomparable. Though Lakshmana was blamed by Rama, he kept his mind unruffled and brought Rama to the right frame of mind to find the way to find Seetha. The cleverness or the smartness of Lakshmana was commendable! The power of his abundance love behind his intelligence is worthy of remark. 

Haven't our ancestors said that we have to be domestically and socially united, for the same reason mentioned above?

A few noteworthy words of Lakshmana among many of his consoling words:

Rama was told :

[  ] What could be the condition of the common people then, if you are,who is the complete man with all the good attributes ,not able to endure the temporary grief of the departure from Seetha?

[  ] Is there any animal which has not been in any unfortunate situation on the earth? The problems do not last long forever. The people who are rational should find a way to get the problems sorted out without losing heart. 

[  ] Haven't  Nahusha, the priest of the clan Vasishta Maharshi, the mother earth, Sun, Moon, Indra and many other Gods who have ascended the heaven ,moved on by facing all kinds of odds?

[  ] Without being captivated to grief and anger, think about the work which has to be done. 

[  ] We are enduring the result of the deed which was done by us but which we are unaware of. 

[  ] Think practically about the appropriate duties and obligations to be accomplished. 

[  ] Your intelligence can not even be measured by the Gods.

[  ] The duty of waking up your sleeping consciousness is mine.

[  ] This is the time to find out our real foe and to destroy him.

The good advise and the pleasant words of Lakshmana turned very effective. The mind of Rama came to the right track and decided to find Seetha !.
