ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೬೨

ರಾಮನ 'ಕೋದಂಡರಾಮ' ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಅನ್ವರ್ಥಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಕಾರಣರಾದವರು ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರರು ಮತ್ತು ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯರು.ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರರು ತನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರುವ ಅಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಧಾರೆಯೆರೆದರು.

ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯರು ದೇವಶಿಲ್ಪಿಯಾದ ವಿಶ್ವಕರ್ಮನಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಮಿತವಾದ ವೈಷ್ಣವ ಮಹಾಧನುಸ್ಸನ್ನು, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ತನಗಿತ್ತಂತಹ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಬಾಣವನ್ನು,ಇಂದ್ರನಿತ್ತ ಅಕ್ಷಯ ಬಾಣಗಳಿರುವ ಎರಡು ಬತ್ತಳಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಖಡ್ಗವನ್ನು ರಾಮನಿಗಿತ್ತು ಹರಸಿದರು.ಇದೇ ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯರು ರಾವಣನನ್ನೆದುರಿಸುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಆದಿತ್ಯ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನೂ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರು.ರಾಮನ ಬರುವಿಕೆಗಾಗಿ ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯರು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದರು.ರಾಮನು ಅಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಶಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಾಯಿತು.

ವನವಾಸದ ಉಳಿದ ಅವಧಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯಲು ಸೂಕ್ತ ಪ್ರದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸಲು ರಾಮನು ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋರಿದನು.ಆಗ ಅವರು ತನ್ನ ಆಶ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮೀಪವಿರುವ ಗೋದಾವರೀ ತಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪಂಚವಟಿಯನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು.ಕಂದ ಮೂಲ ಫಲ ಜಲಗಳಿಂದ ಸಮೃದ್ಧವಾದ ಪಂಚವಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವನವಾಸದ ಉಳಿದ ಅವಧಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಕಳೆಯಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ರಾಮನನ್ನು ಬೀಳ್ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.

ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯರನ್ನು ಬೀಳ್ಕೊಂಡ ರಾಮ ಸೀತೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರು ಬಿಲ್ಲು ಬಾಣ ಬತ್ತಳಿಕೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪಂಚವಟಿಯತ್ತ ಪಯಣಿಸುವಾಗ ಜಟಾಯುವನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.ಮೊದಲು ರಕ್ಕಸನಾಗಿರಬಹುದೆಂದು ಕೊಂಡರು.ಬಳಿಕ ಜಟಾಯುವೇ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿತು.ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪೂಜ್ಯ ಭಾವನೆಯುಕ್ಕಿತು.ಜಟಾಯುವು ಜ್ಞಾನಿ.ಅದು ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಸಕಲ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಉತ್ಪತ್ತಿಯ ಕತೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ಕುಲದ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನೂ ಹೇಳಿತು.ಬಳಿಕ ನೀನು ಇಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ನೀವಿಲ್ಲದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀತೆಯ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವೆನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿತು.ಜಟಾಯುವಿನ ಮಾತಿನಿಂದ ಸಂತಸಗೊಂಡ ರಾಮನು ತಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಜಟಾಯುವನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಪಂಚವಟಿಯತ್ತ ಪಯಣಿಸಿದನು.

Vishwamitra was the reason behind the justified name ' Kodandarama ' which was given to Rama .Vishwamitra had taught all the artillery that he knew to Rama.

Agasthya blessed Rama by giving him the great Vaishnava Dhanas which was created by the godly sculptor Vishwakarma ,the great arrow which he received from Brahma and the two inexhaustible quivers and sword which he had received from Indra. The same sage Agasthya preached Rama 'Adithya Hrudaye' during the time of confronting Ravana. Agasthya had been waiting for the arrival of Rama. Finally he arrived and recieved the equipments and artillery from Agasthya. 

What next? He had to experiment them!!

Rama requested Agasthya to suggest the appropriate place to spend the remaining days of his exile. For which Agasthya suggested a place nearest to his hermitage called ' Panchavati' which was on the shore of river Godaavari. Then he bid adieu to Rama and blessed him to spend the remaining days of their exile with happiness in 'Panchavati ' which was enriched with various kinds of fruits and rivers.

Rama, Seetha and Lakshmana bid adieu to Agasthya and walked towards Panchavati along with their bows ,arrows and quivers. They saw Jataayu on their way. Initially they assumed that Jataayu would be a monster but later Jataayu introduced itself to them and said that it was the friend of Dhasharatha. Rama was filled with reverence towards Jataayu when he heard that. Jataayu was wise . It told Rama about its clan and the story of the birth of every animal. Later it requested Rama that if he agreed then it would reside with him and assist them. It also assured that it would safeguard Seetha in the absence of Rama and Lakshmana. Rama was pleased by the words of Jataayu and proceeded the journey towards Panchavati along with Seetha ,Lakshmana and Jataayu.
