ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೫೮

ಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಯಣ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದ ರಾಮ ಸೀತೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರು ಮುಂದೆ ಋಷಿಗಳು ಬಹುದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವ 'ಆಶ್ರಮ ಮಂಡಲ'ವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದರು.ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಯೋಗಕ್ಷೇಮಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿದರು.ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಋಷಿಗಳು ಹೇಳಿದ "ನೀನು ನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಇರು,ಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಇರು ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಜ ನೀನೇ.ನಮ್ಮ ಹಿತವನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿರು"ಈ ಮಾತು ಗಮನಾರ್ಹವಾದುದು.

ಹಾಗೇ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ವಿರಾಧನೆಂಬ ಶಾಪಗ್ರಸ್ತ ಮಹಾರಾಕ್ಷಸನ ಹಿಡಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಇವರು ಸಿಲುಕಿದರು.ಅವನು ಮೊದಲು ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೇರಿಸಿ ಹೊರಟಾಗ ರಾಮನು ತುಂಬಾ ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟು ಕೈಕೇಯಿಯ ಇಷ್ಟಾರ್ಥ ನೆರವೇರುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನೋವಿನಿಂದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು ರಾಮನು ನೋವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಧೈರ್ಯ ತುಂಬುವ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಶಮನಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು.ವಿರಾಧನು ತುಂಬುರ ಎನ್ನುವ ಗಂಧರ್ವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ತನ್ನ ಸೋಮಾರಿತನ ಹಾಗೂ ಸುಖಲೋಲುಪತೆಗಳಿಂದಾಗಿ ಕುಬೇರನ ಶಾಪಕ್ಕೊಳಗಾಗಿ ರಾಕ್ಷಸನಾದನು.ಅದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇವನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ರಾಮನಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಶಾಪ ಮುಕ್ತಿ ಎಂಬ ಆಶ್ವಾಸನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದನು.ಅವನಿಗೆ ಯಾರಿಂದಲೂ ಯಾವುದರಿಂದಲೂ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು(ಶಸ್ತ್ರ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ) ಸಾವು ಬರದಿರಲಿ ಎಂಬ ವರವನ್ನು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದನು.ಇದನ್ನೇ ಸುಳಿವಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರು ಅವನ ಕೈಕಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ನಡೆಯಲಾರದಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಲ್ಲುವ ಯೋಜನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.ರಾಮನೆಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಾದಾಗ ಅವನೇ ತನ್ನ ಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ ಶಾಪ ವಿಮೋಚನೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನು.ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಶರಭಂಗ ಋಷಿಗಳ ಆಶ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಲೂ ಹೇಳಿದನು.ರಾಮನು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ಬಹುದೊಡ್ಡ ಹಳ್ಳವನ್ನು ತೋಡಿ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವವಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಹೂತು ಹಾಕುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದರು.ವಿರಾಧ ಶಾಪ ಮುಕ್ತನಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿದನು.

ನೋವನ್ನು,ಕೊರಗುಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಗಲು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ರಾಮನ ಬದುಕಿನುದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ಸುಖ- ದುಃಖ, ಹಿತ- ಅಹಿತ, 

ಋಷಿಗಳು- ರಾಕ್ಷಸರು, ಕಲೆ-ಕಳೆ...ಇವುಗಳು ಬಂದು ಹೋಗುವುದನ್ನು ಕಾಣುತ್ತೇವೆ.ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದವರಿಗೂ ಇವು ಸಲ್ಲುತ್ತವೆ.

Rama, Seetha and Lakshmana who continued their journey in the forest, reached the biggest 'Aashram Mandala,' ( hermitage) where scores of saints resided in. He enquired their well beings there and proceeded the journey by taking their blessings. The words,which were stated by the saints there, are noticeable here, where they say " Be in the forest or in the country but you are our king, and keep protecting our interest and prosperity ".

While walking in the forest they had to face an obstacle in their way. They got tangled in the clutch of a monster called 'Viraadha' who was under a curse. Rama suffered an unbearable pain ,when Seetha was being taken away by the monster. Rama with grief told Lakshmana that the wishes of Kaikeyee were being fulfilled. Lakshmana consoled Rama with his words which healed his pain. Viraadha was a celestial being known as Thumbura. He had been cursed by Kubera because of his idleness and pleasure seeking nature.  As a result of Kubera's curse ,he had become a monster.  But when Viraadha prayed to Kubera, Viraadha was assured that his curse would be resolved only by Rama. Moreover Brahma had given Viraadha a boon that he would not die by being slashed by artillery and anyone. Using this information as a hint ,Rama and Lakshmana broke the legs and the hands of Viraadha and made him lame. Later they planned to kill Viraadha. But when Viraadha realized, it was Rama , he himself prayed to Rama to redeem him from his curse, and asked him to go to the hermitage of the sage Sharabhanga which was near by. Rama with the help of Lakshmana digged a pit and buried Viraadha alive and killed him. Finally Viraadha got redeemed from his curse and reached his world.

There was happiness - sorrow,  good - bad, sages - monsters, and gain - lose, throughout the life of Rama who was born to relinquish the grief and sorrow. It is also dedicated to those who possess Rama.
