ಭರತನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇನೆ ಪರಿವಾರ ಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಭರಧ್ವಾಜರ ಆಶ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಸಮೀಪಿಸಿದನು.ಸೇನೆಯನ್ನು ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ತಂಗಲು ಹೇಳಿ ವಸಿಷ್ಠರನ್ನು ಮುಂದು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಆಶ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದನು.ವಸಿಷ್ಠರನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಕ್ಷಣ ತಮ್ಮ ಆಸನದಿಂದ ಮೇಲೆದ್ದು ಆಶ್ರಮೋಚಿತ ಸ್ವಾಗತವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಕಂದ ಮೂಲ ಫಲಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಸತ್ಕರಿಸಿದರು.ಭರತನ ಅಂತರಾಳವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೂ ಬೇಕೆಂದೇ ಭರತನನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವಂತೆ-ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ತಮ್ಮನಿಗೆ ಕೇಡುಂಟು ಮಾಡಲು ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ ತಾನೇ?- ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಭರತನು ತುಂಬಾ ನೊಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.ಭರತನ ಇಚ್ಛೆಗೆ ವಸಿಷ್ಠರೂ ಧ್ವನಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಸಂತಸಗೊಂಡು ಭರತನಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನೊಡನೆ ಬಂದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸ್ವರ್ಗ ಸಮಾನವಾದ ಸತ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಶೇಷ ತಪಸ್ಸಿನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ನೀಡಿದರು.ಆ ಸತ್ಕಾರವು ಹೇಗಿತ್ತೆಂದರೆ- ನಾವಿನ್ನು ಅಯೋಧ್ಯೆಗೂ ಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಭರತನೊಡನೆ ದಂಡಕಾರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ ಹೋಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ...ಇದೇ ಸ್ವರ್ಗ- ಇದೇ ಸ್ವರ್ಗ ಸುಖ- ಎಂದು ಸೈನಿಕರೇ ಮೊದಲಾದವರು ಕೂಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಭರಧ್ವಾಜರ ಕರೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಒಂದಿರುಳಿನ ಆತಿಥ್ಯವೆಂದು ಅರಿವಾದದ್ದು ಮರುದಿನವೇ!

ಮರುದಿನ ಭರತನು ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಂದಿರನ್ನು ಭರಧ್ವಾಜರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸುತ್ತು ಬಂದು ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ ಅವರ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಪಡೆದು ಅವರೇ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಚಿತ್ರ ಕೂಟದತ್ತ ಪಯಣವನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಿದರು.

Bharatha along with his entourages reached Shrungaberapura which was on the shore of the river Ganga. Guha could not make out why they had come there and he was suspicious seeing the vast army of Bharatha .He commanded his navy force to be ready in the Ganga for both warm welcome and for the battle if necessary. Guha met Bharatha along with valuable items for the hospitality and offered them to Bharatha. Both enquired the well-beings of each other. Guha felt gratified and pleased when he realized the immense love of Bharatha on Rama.

Guha explained Bharatha how Rama and Seetha spent their day in Shrungaberapura. He pointed at a tree of charcoal and the bed of Dharbe grass and told Bharatha that Rama and Seetha fell asleep in the same place, on the same bed of grass and Lakshmana stayed awake whole night to safeguard them with his sword ,bow and arrow. After listening this, Bharatha, Shatrughna and mothers broke into tears. They felt bad for them who were not supposed to be in that circumstance. They lamented and wept for Rama ,Seetha and Lakshmana. Bharatha stated that "Time(Kaala) is greater than the will of the God". Bharatha got disappointed when he heard that Rama had got his hair matted with the latex of banyan tree there itself. At the same time, Bharatha too made the decision of going into exile by getting his hair matted. 

After being cordially treated by Guha, Bharatha crossed the Ganga with the help of Guha. Bharatha continued his journey along with his family towards the hermitage of Bharadhwaja. 

Guha himself was guiding them.
