 ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯನಮ:

ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೪೫

ಬಿಡುವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಪಯಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ರಾಜಭಟರು ರಾಜಗೃಹವನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿ ಭರತ-ಶತ್ರುಘ್ನರಿಗೆ,ಮಾವ-ತಾತರಿಗೆ ತಾವು ತಂದ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ವಸಿಷ್ಠ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳ ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.ಮತ್ತು ಅತಿ ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿ ಅಯೋಧ್ಯೆಗೆ ಹೊರಡುವಂತೆ ಕೋರಿದರು.

ಈ ನಡುವೆ ಮೂರು ವಿಚಾರಗಳು ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನಾರ್ಹವಾದವು-

‌.ಭರತನಿಗೆ ತಂದೆಯ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಅತಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಕನಸುಗಳು ಬಿದ್ದದ್ದು

.ಭಟರಲ್ಲಿ ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಂದಿರು ಸೋದರರ ಕ್ಷೇಮ ಸಮಾಚಾರ ಕೇಳುವಾಗ- ಸ್ವಾರ್ಥಿಯಾದ, ತಾನೇ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಪ್ರಾಜ್ಞಳೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ,ಹಟಮಾರಿಯೂ ಕೋಪಿಷ್ಠೆಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಕೈಕೇಯಿಯು ಆರೋಗ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವಳೇ? ಅವಳು ನನಗೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರುವಳೇ?- ಎಂದು ಭರತನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದು

.ದೂತರು ದಶರಥನ ಮರಣದ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳದೇ ಇದ್ದದ್ದು

ಭರತ ಶತ್ರುಘ್ನರು ಪರಿವಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ತಾತ ಮಾವ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಏಳು ರಾತ್ರಿಗಳ ಪಯಣದ ಬಳಿಕ  ಸದಾ ಮಂಗಳದ ಮುಂಬೆಳಗಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ದಿನವನ್ನಾರಂಭಿಸುವ ಅಯೋಧ್ಯೆಗೆ ಅಮಂಗಳಕರವಾದ ಎಂಟನೆಯ ದಿನದ ಮುಂಜಾನೆ ತಲುಪಿದರು.

ಅಯೋಧ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಮಶಾನ ಮೌನ.ಭರತನು ಆತಂಕದಲ್ಲಿ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲು ಆತನ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ತಂದೆಯಿಲ್ಲ.ಬಳಿಕ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲು ಅವಳ ಅಂತ:ಪುರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಕೇಳಲಿಚ್ಛಿಸದ,ಕೇಳಬಾರದ ಎರಡು ಕಹಿಕಹಿ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಾಯಿಯ ಬಾಯಿಯಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿ ಗೋಳಾಡಿದನು-

.ದಶರಥನ ಮರಣ

. ರಾಮನ ವನವಾಸ

ಕೈಕೇಯಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯವಾದ ಭರತನಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ರಿಯವಾದ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೈಕೇಯಿ-

"ಸ ಹಿ ರಾಜಸುತ: ಪುತ್ರ

ಚೀರವಾಸಾ ಮಹಾವನಮ್|

ದಣ್ಡಕಾನ್ಸಹ ವೈದೇಹ್ಯಾ

ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಾನುಚರೋ ಗತ:"||

-ರಾಜಸುತನಾದ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನು ನಾರುಬಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನುಟ್ಟು ವೈದೇಹಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಹಾರಣ್ಯವಾದ ದಂಡಕಾರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿದನು- 

ಈ ರೀತಿ ಹೇಳಿದಳು.

The king's messengers reached the Palace who had travelled so far without taking respite. They presented the valuables which they had brought to Bharatha - Shatrugna, their uncle and grandfather. Then conveyed the command of Vasishta Maharshi and requested them to set off for Ayodhya immediately. 

The three remarkable things here -

• Bharatha had a nightmare about his father. 

• While asking the well-being of his father, mothers and siblings, he also asked the messenger how was his selfish, adamant, irascible mother Kaikeyee who had assumed herself  as intelligent and rational. Bharatha asked if she had sent any message for him.

• Messengers did not reveal about the demise of Dhasharatha. 

Bharatha-Shatrugna along with their families and the valuable presents which were given by their uncle and grandfather started their journey towards Ayodhya. After travelling for 7 nights, they reached Ayodhya in the morning of 8th day. The morning was unpleasant for Ayodhya which used to begin its day with auspicious morning. 

There was a grave silence in Ayodhya. Bharatha being anxious and apprehensive ,rushed to see his father in the palace. When he did not find Dhasharatha, he went to see his mother Kaikeyee in her harem. There he heard two things from his mother which he should not have heard and he never wished to hear. The words of Kaikeyee pierced the heart of Bharatha. 

What did he hear from Kaikeyee?

1. The death of Dhasharatha. 

2. The exile of Rama in the forest.

She told her dearest son Bharatha another thing which was unpleasant for him and put him in a deep sorrow. She cited:

" Sa hi raajasuthaha putra

  cheeravaasa mahavanam

  dandakaansaha vaidehya

  Lakshmanaanucharoo gathaha " ||

Which means,

Rama the son of the King went into Dandakaaranya wearing the barks of tree along with Vaidehi (Seetha) and Lakshmana too followed him.
