ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೪೬

ತಾನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮಗ ಭರತನಿಗೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪಟ್ಟದ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಅವನು ಸಂತಸಗೊಂಡಾನು ಎಂದು ಭ್ರಮಿಸಿದ ಕೈಕೇಯಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದು ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರ!

"... ನಿನ್ನ ಕ್ರೂರ ಕರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಎಷ್ಟೆಂದು ಹೇಳಲಿ? ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕನಾದ ಸದಾ ಸತ್ಯಪರಾಯಣನಾದ ರಾಮನನ್ನು ಕಾಡಿಗಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಪುತ್ರ ವಿಯೋಗದಿಂದ ತಂದೆಯು ಸ್ವರ್ಗಸ್ಥನಾದನು.ಕೈಕೇಯಿ! ನೀನು ಪಾಪಕರ್ಮವೇ ಪ್ರಧಾನವಾಗಿಯುಳ್ಳವಳು.

ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ ಆಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪಾಪವು ನನಗೂ ಅಂಟಿಕೊಂಡಿತು.ತಂದೆಯನ್ನಗಲಿದೆನು.ರಾಮಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪರಿತ್ಯಜಿಸಿದರು.

ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೂ ನಾನು ಅಪ್ರಿಯನಾದೆ.ಧರ್ಮಾತ್ಮಳಾದ ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯು ಪತಿ-ಪುತ್ರ ವಿಹೀನಳಾದಳು..."

".. ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕನಾದ  ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮನೇನಾದರೂ ಮಾತೃಹಂತಕನೆಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ - ದುಷ್ಟಚಾರಿಣಿಯಾದ, ಪಾಪಿಷ್ಠೆಯಾದ ಈ ಕೈಕೇಯಿಯನ್ನು ಈ ವೇಳೆಗಾಗಲೇ ಕೊಂದೇ ಬಿಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು  "

ಭರತನ ನೋವು ಸಂಕಟಗಳಿಗೆ ಇವಿಷ್ಟು ಸಾಕು.

".... ತಂದೆಯೂ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.ರಾಮನೂ ಕಾಡಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದನು.ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನವಲಂಬಿಸಿಯೇ ನಾನಿದುವರೆಗೂ ಜೀವಿಸಿದ್ದೆನು.ಇನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಜೀವಿಸುವ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವಾದರೂ ಎಲ್ಲಿದೆ? ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನಾನೀಗಲೇ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ಬಿಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.... ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವರಿಲ್ಲದ ಅಯೋಧ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ತೊರೆದು ನಾನೂ ಕಾಡಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ.."ಇದು ಶತ್ರುಘ್ನನ ಅಳಲು!

 ಭರತ ಶತ್ರುಘ್ನರು ದೊಡ್ಡಮ್ಮ ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.ಭರತನನ್ನು ಮೊದಲು ನಿಂದಿಸಿದರೂ ರಾಮನ ಬಗೆಗಿರುವ ಅವನ ಅಚಲ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ತೊಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳ್ಳಿರಿಸಿ ಮೃದು ನುಡಿಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿ ಸಂತೈಸಿದಳು.

ವಸಿಷ್ಠರ ಸಲಹೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭರತ ಶತ್ರುಘ್ನರು ತಂದೆ ದಶರಥನ ಅಂತ್ಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಜೊತೆಗೂಡುವಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದರು.

ಗಂಡು ಕ್ರೌಂಚ ಪಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳಕೊಂಡ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಕ್ರೌಂಚವು ರೋದಿಸುವಂತೆ ನೆರೆದಿದ್ದ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಮಂದಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ರೋದಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.

ಹತ್ತು ದಿನಗಳು ಕಳೆದು ಹನ್ನೊಂದನೇ ದಿನದಂದು ಭರತನು ಸೂತಕವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹನ್ನೆರಡನೆಯ ದಿವಸ ಸಪಿಂಡೀಕರಣಾಂತವಾದ 

ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧ ಕರ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧದ ಸಂಬಂಧವಾಗಿ ಯಥೇಚ್ಛವಾಗಿ ದಾನ ಧರ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.

ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ  ಒಂದು ಹಂತ ಮುಗಿಯಿತು.

ಇನ್ನು ರಾಜ್ಯವಾಳುವ ವಿಚಾರ...

Kaikeyee who dreamt that Bharatha would be happy to hear about his coronation, and the power she had obtained for herself and for her son was even rejected by her dear son Bharatha. 

The words of Bharatha. He says,

" ...how can I list your cruel deeds?

You persuaded Rama to go into the exile who has always been virtuous and righteous. The father has left this world being unable to bear the pain of the son's departure. Kaikeyee! You are a sinner and the reason for all the sinful deeds . I have to suffer now for being your son . I am departed from my father. Rama and Lakshmana have also deserted me. I have become an unpleasant person for the world now. Kausalya is deprived of her husband and her son...". Further he says " If the virtuous Rama doesn't blame me for assassinating my mother then I would have killed the sinful and evil Kaikeyee by now". 

These words are enough to explain the grief and the lamentation of Bharatha. 

Shatrughna too expressed his agony. He says,

"The father has gone to the heaven. Rama has gone to the forest. And my life has been depending on these two all these years. How can I live without them? Am I able to live without them? I will die being burnt in the fire now itself  or else I will walk into the forest by abandoning Ayodhya where there is no Rama".

These were the painful words of Bharatha and Shatrughna. 

Bharatha -Shatrughna went to see their aunt Kausalya. Though she had reviled Bharatha in the beginning, she consoled him with her soothing words by taking him on her lap ,after realizing the genuine and eternal love of Bharatha towards Rama.

Bharatha and Shatrughna along with others performed the last funeral rites of their father Dhasharatha under the guidance of Vasishta Maharshi. The scores of women were lamenting for Dhasharatha, as if a female Krauncha bird which had lost its male Krauncha bird. After 10 days of King's death,  Bharatha consecrated himself on the 11th day . He performed a ceremony in honor of his dead father on the 12th day( Shraaddhaa karma). Then he distributed alms abundantly related to Shraaddha. 

The first stage got completed. 

The next was about ruling the kingdom.
