ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೧೨೩

ಹನುಮ ಪ್ರತಾಪದ ಬಳಿಕ ರಾವಣನ ಬೇಹುಗಾರರು ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತುಕೊಂಡರು ಎನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಮುದ್ರದ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹೊಸ ಹೊಸ ವಿದ್ಯಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಬೇಹುಗಾರನು ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಕಂಡಂತೆ  ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು. "ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಎದುರಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಸಮುದ್ರ ಬಂದು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಾನರ ಕರಡಿಗಳ ಮಹಾಸೇನೆ ನೆರೆದಿದೆ.ಅವರನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಲು ಅಥವಾ ಯುದ್ಧವಾಗದಂತೆ ಮಾಡಲು-

•ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದು,

•ಸಾಮೋಪಾಯದ ನುಡಿಗಳನ್ನಾಡುವುದು,

•ರಾಮ-ಸುಗ್ರೀವರ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಒಡಕುಂಟು ಮಾಡುವುದು.

ಈ ಮೂರರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದಾದರೊಂದನ್ನು ನಿಯೋಜಿಸಬೇಕು - ಎಂಬ ಸಲಹೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೇಹುಗಾರನು ನೀಡಿದನು.

 

ರಾವಣ ಮೂರನೆಯದನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತ ಶುಕರಾಕ್ಷಸನನ್ನು ದೂತನಾಗಿ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನಿಗೆ  ಒಡಕುಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು  ಹೇಳಲು ಕಳಿಸಿದ.ಗಿಣಿ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದ ಶುಕನು ರಾವಣನು ಸುಗ್ರೀವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಲು ಹೇಳಿದ-

.ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹದಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಲಾಭ ನಷ್ಟಗಳೆರಡೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

.ಧೀಮಂತ ರಾಜಪುತ್ರನ ಸತಿಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ಅಪಹರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಯಾವ ನಷ್ಟವೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.

.ಲಂಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೀವು ಯಾರೂ ತಲುಪಲಾರಿರಿ. 

.ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಿಷ್ಕಿಂಧೆಗೆ  ಹೋಗು-ಈ  ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ.

ಶುಕನ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳಿದ ವಾನರವೀರರು ಒಡನೆಯೇ ಆಗಸಕ್ಕೆ ನೆಗೆದು ಅವನ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಬಡಿದು ಕೆಳಕ್ಕೆಳೆದು ತಂದರು.ಶುಕನು ರಾಮನಲ್ಲಿ ದೂತ ನೀತಿಯನ್ನು  ನೆನಪಿಸಿ ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸೆಂದು ಗೋಗರೆದನು.

ರಾಮಾಜ್ಞೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಅವನ ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಯಿತು. 

ರಾವಣನ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನು ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ  -

•ವಧಾರ್ಹನಾದ ದಶಗ್ರೀವನೇ,ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಮಿತ್ರನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ, ನನ್ನ  ದಯೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ.

•ನನಗೆ ಯಾವ ಉಪಕಾರವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡದ ನೀನು ಪ್ರಿಯವಾದವನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ.

•ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಮಿತ್ರನ ಶತ್ರುವಾದುದರಿಂದ ನನಗೂ ಶತ್ರು.ಆದುದರಿಂದ 

ವಾಲಿಯಂತೆ  ಬಂಧು ಮಿತ್ರರ ಸಹಿತ  ನೀನೂ ವಧಾರ್ಹನಾಗಿರುವೆ.

•ವಂಚಕ ಕಪಟಿ ಮೋಸಗಾರನಾದ ನೀನು  ರಾಮನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲೇ ಅಡಗಿದರೂ ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿ  ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರೆ- ಎಂಬ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು  ಶುಕನ ಮೂಲಕ  ರವಾನಿಸಿದನು.

ರಾಮನ ದಯೆಯಿಂದ ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಶುಕನು  ಬಂದ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು  ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಲಂಕೆಗೆ ಹಾರಿದನು.

 It seemed that after witnessing the valor of Hanuman, the spies of Ravana became alert. A spy gave a clear picture of the new affairs which were going on ,on the sea shore to Ravana . The spy says - " The great army of monkeys and bears have gathered on the sea shore which appears as if a sea has come in contact with another sea ".

He gave three suggestions to confront them or to avoid the war -

• Handing over Seetha.

• Using the strategy of creating alliance. 

• Creating conflict between Rama - Sugreeva. 

He said to Ravana that one among these three suggestions had to be adopted. 

Ravana chose the third suggestion and sent the shrewd monster Shuka ,as a messenger to pour the words of discord into the ears of Sugreeva. Shuka came to Sugreeva by disguising himself as a parrot to convey what Ravana had commanded him to convey.  He says, - 

• There is neither profit nor loss for me from your friendship .

• Abduction of Seetha who is the wife of the son of a scholarly king has caused no loss to you.

• None of you will reach Lanka.

• Therefore go back to Kishkindha along with your army.

He conveyed these words to Sugreeva in the same way how he was told to convey. 

The monkey soldiers who heard the words of Shuka ,leapt into the sky immediately and cut off the wings of Shuka ,thrashed him and then brought him down. Shuka reminded Rama the ethical code of a messenger and begged him to save his life.

His life was saved after the command of Rama. 

Sugreeva sent message to Ravana in the same way how he had sent message to Sugreeva. The words of Sugreeva -

• Dashagreeva who is worthy of death punishment, you are neither my friend nor worthy of my sympathy and compassion. 

• You have done no favor for me and not even dearest to me .

• You are a foe to me since you are the foe of my friend. Therefore you deserve death along with your relatives and friends just as Vaali.

• Being an impostor, a wicked  and a deceiver you can not hide anywhere and escape alive from Rama.

Sugreeva conveyed these words to Ravana through Shuka.

Shuka who saved himself because of Rama's kindness, flew to Lanka after completing his duty.
