ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೧೨೪

 ರಾಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಾಗರೋಲ್ಲಂಘನೆಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ  ಸಗರನ ಉಪಕಾರವನ್ನು ನೆನೆದು ಹನುಮನ ಆಯಾಸ ಪರಿಹಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮೈನಾಕನನ್ನೇ ಕಡಲಾಳದಿಂದ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಸಮುದ್ರರಾಜ ಈಗ ಸಗರನ ವಂಶಸ್ಥ ರಾಮನು ಮೂರು ಇರುಳುಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಉಪವಾಸ ವ್ರತದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ಅವನ ಉಪಾಸನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಲಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ!! ರಾಮನ ಬಲಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯೇ?

ರಾಮ ಧನುರ್ಧರ ರಾಮನಾದ!

ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನಲ್ಲಿ-

•ಸಮುದ್ರರಾಜನಿಗೆ ಅತಿಗರ್ವವಿದೆ.

ಆದುದರಿಂದಲೇ ತಾನಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. 

•ಶಾಂತಿ, ಕ್ಷಮೆ, ಸರಳತೆ, ಸವಿಮಾತು ಸತ್ಪುರುಷರ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು.ಈ ಗುಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರದ ಸಮುದ್ರರಾಜನಿಗೆ  ಸರಳೇ(ಬಾಣ)ಮದ್ದು.

•ಸಾಮೋಪಾಯದಿಂದ ರಣರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜಯವು ಲಭಿಸದು.ಈ ಮೂರ್ಖನಿಗೆ ದಂಡನೆಯೇ ಸೂಕ್ತ-ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ರಾಮನು ಪ್ರಳಯ ಕಾಲದ ಅಗ್ನಿಯಂತೆ ಪ್ರಜ್ವಲಿಸಿ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ  ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಯೋಗಿಸ ತೊಡಗಿದನು.ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲೋಲ ಕಲ್ಲೋಲವುಂಟಾಯಿತು.

ಪಾತಾಲವಾಸಿಗಳ ತನಕದ ಜೀವರಾಶಿಗಳು,ದಾನವರು ವ್ಯಾಕುಲಗೊಂಡರು.

ಸಮುದ್ರರಾಜ ಬಾರದಿರಲು ಅತಿಕ್ರುದ್ಧನಾದ ರಾಮ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಬಾಣ ಸೆಳೆದಾಗ ಅಪಾಯವರಿತ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು ಧಾವಿಸಿ ಧನುಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ತಡೆದನು.ಆದರೆ  ಅವನು ರಾಮ! ಕಟ್ಟಕಡೆಯದಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಬೇಕಾದ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಆಗಬಹುದಾದ ನಾಶನಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಮುದ್ರರಾಜನಿಗೆ  ಹೇಳಿ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮದಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾನವಾದ ಬಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾಸ್ತ್ರಮಂತ್ರವನ್ನು ಅಭಿಮಂತ್ರಿಸಿ ಧನುಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಹೂಡಿ ಶಿಂಜನಿಯನ್ನು ಸೆಳೆದನು!! 

ಪ್ರಳಯವಲ್ಲದ ಪ್ರಳಯದ ಮುನ್ಸೂಚನೆಗಳು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡವು. ಸಮುದ್ರರಾಜ ಬಗ್ಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಉದ್ಧಟತನದಿಂದ ಉಕ್ಕೇರ ತೊಡಗಿದನು. ರಾಮ ತಗ್ಗಲಿಲ್ಲ! ಕೊನೆಗೂ ಸಮುದ್ರರಾಜ ಶರಣಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ  ಸೇನೆಯು ಕಡಲನ್ನು ದಾಟಲು ಬೇಕಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆಯೆಂದು ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

ಆದರೆ ಕಾಲ ಮಿಂಚಿತ್ತು!!

ರಾಮ ಬಾಣ ಹೂಡಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು!! ಅದಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಬಲಿ ಕೊಡಲೇ ಬೇಕಿತ್ತು! 

ಸಮುದ್ರರಾಜನು ಆಭೀರರೆಂಬ ಕ್ರೂರಿಗಳು ವಾಸಿಸುವ ದ್ರುಮಕುಲ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ(ಪರ್ವತ) ಬಾಣ ಪ್ರಯೋಗಿಸಲು ಹೇಳಿದ. ರಾಮ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದ. ಅದು ಮುಂದೆ 'ಮರುಕಾಂತಾರ'ವೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಪಶುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಿತಕರವಾದ ಭೂಪ್ರದೇಶವಾಗಿ ಸಂಪನ್ನವಾಯಿತು.

'ಸೇತುವೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇನೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವಿಶ್ವಕರ್ಮನ ಪುತ್ರನಾದ ನಲನಿಂದ ನಡೆಯಲಿ.ಆ ಸೇತುವೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ಹೊರುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು' ಹೇಳಿ ಸಮುದ್ರರಾಜನು ಅದೃಶ್ಯನಾದನು.

ನಲನು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಆ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ.

"ತಾಗದೇ ಬಾಗದು,

ಬಿಸಿಯಾಗದೇ ಬೆಣ್ಣೆ ಕರಗದು" ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ಎಷ್ಟು ಸತ್ಯ!!

Varuna ( Samudraraja ) showed a kind gesture towards Hanuman during the time of crossing the sea for the fulfillment of the work of Rama . By remembering the favour of Sagara ,he even arose Mainaaka from the deapth of the sea to give shelter to Hanuman who was tired. But Varuna was not  pleased when Rama who hailed from the clan of Sagara, performed fasting to please him !! Was that to test the strength of Rama ?

Rama became 'Dhanurdhari ' Rama ! ( which means he equipped himself with archery).

Rama told Lakshmana -

• Varuna is not willing to come to me by himself since he has extreme pride and ego.

• Arrow is the right medicine for Varuna who does not possess the attributes of the virtuous men such as patience, forgiveness, simplicity and pleasing words. 

• The victory will not be gained in the war field through alliance and attacking is the only way to teach lesson for this moron - 

By saying these Rama sparkled as Agni who sparkles during the time of catastrophe and released arrows on the sea. The turbulence began in the sea. Every creatures in the sea including living creatures, those who were residing in the nether world and the demons became anxious and worried. 

Rama became even more furious when he did not find Varuna and he began unleashing the arrows again. Lakshmana who sensed the danger rushed towards Rama ,held his bow and prevented him from releasing arrows. But he is Rama ! At last ,he gave a final warning to the seaking and told him everything including the loses which could happen to him. After warning him, Rama inserted the arrow which was equivalent to Brahma Danda and pulled the string which was tied to the bow by chanting hymn of 'Brahmastra ' !!

The inklings of the calamity which was not the calamity appeared in the nature. But still Varuna did not bend himself. He kept swelling arrogantly. Rama too did not bring himself down! Finally Varuna surrendered himself to Rama and promised that he would arrange everything that was required for the army of Rama.

But it was too late and time had already flown !!

Rama had already inserted the arrow !! And the sacrifice had to be given to the arrow !

Varuna told Rama to target the mountain named Drumakulaya where the cruel people called ' Aabheera 'were residing. Rama did as he said. Later, the place was named as ' Marukaanthaara 'and it became an enriching region for cattles. 

Varuna told Rama to let the son of Vishwakarma ,Nala who was there in his army ,begin the work of building the bridge. Varuna assured Rama that he would carry that bridge.  After promising this , Varuna disappeared. 

Nala agreed to do that work happily and assured Rama of doing the sacred work of building the bridge.

"Things do not bend until they get hit, butter doesn't melt until it is heated ".

How true these words are!!
