ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೩೪

ವನವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದು ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಎಂದು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು ಸೀತಾ ರಾಮರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದಾಗ ರಾಮನು ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಂದಿರಾದ ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆ-ಸುಮಿತ್ರೆಯರ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನ ಪರವಾಗಿ ನೀನಿಲ್ಲೇ ಇರು ಎಂದು ರಾಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಆದರೆ ವಾಕ್ಚತುರನಾದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು- ಭರತನು ನಮ್ಮಂತೆಯೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿ- ಜತನಗಳಿಂದ ನೋಡಿಯಾನು, ನಮ್ಮ ತಾಯಂದಿರಿಗೆ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಸಾಕುವಷ್ಟು ಭೂಮಿ ಸಂಪತ್ತುಗಳಿರುವಾಗ ಯಾವುದೇ ಚಿಂತೆ ಬೇಡ.ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾಗಿ ಹಗಲಿರುಳು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಾ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುತ್ತಾ ಇರುತ್ತೇನೆ -ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಣಮಾತ್ರವೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿರಲಾರದ ರಾಮನು ಒಪ್ಪಿ ವನವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಲು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಮೂವರೂ ವನವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧರಾದರು.ತಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಪತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ವಸಿಷ್ಠ-ವಾಮದೇವ-ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯ-ಕೌಶಿಕರೇ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳಿಗೂ, ವೇದಾಧ್ಯಯನ ನಿರತ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರಿಗೂ,ಅವರ ಮನೆಮಂದಿಗೂ,ತಾವು ಅರಣ್ಯವಾಸ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಬರುವ ತನಕ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯಿಂದಿರಲು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಅರಮನೆಗಳ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೂ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಿಗೂ ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದರು.ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ರಾಮ ಸೀತೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರು ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೃತಾರ್ಥರಾದರು.

ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು ವಸಿಷ್ಠ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ: ತನಗೂ ರಾಮನಿಗೂ ಜನಕರಾಜನು ಮದುವೆಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳುವಳಿಯಾಗಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದ ಅಕ್ಷಯ ಬತ್ತಳಿಕೆ, ಅಪೂರ್ವ ಬಿಲ್ಲು,ರತ್ನ ಖಚಿತ ಖಡ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದನು.

ಅವುಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾಡಿಗಾಗಿ ಕೊಡಲಿ ಗುದ್ದಲಿ!

ಕೊಡಲಿ ರಾಮನನ್ನು(ಪರಶುರಾಮ) ಗೆದ್ದ ರಾಮನ ಬಳಿ ಕೊಡಲಿ ಗುದ್ದಲಿ!

Lakshmana prayed and requested Rama and Seetha to take him along with them ,for which Rama told him to stay back in the kingdom to serve their mothers Kausalya and Sumitra on behalf of him.

But Lakshmana was a good speaker, he knew how to convince his brother and told him that Bharatha was not different from them and he would definitely look after their mothers and the father with love and utmost care and added that moreover there was nothing to worry about the mothers and they would not face any problems in the state since they had sufficient lands, wealth and property to nurture thousands of people .He expressed his will and wish to serve Rama and Seetha in the forest. By hearing the words of Lakshmana, Rama agreed to take him into the exile since Rama too couldn't stay away from his dearest brother even for a second .

Rama, Seetha and Lakshmana got ready for the exile. They donated their wealth to Vasishta, Vaamadeva, Agastya, Kaushika, other Maharshis including Brahmanaas who were learning vedas and their families, servants and to their friends to live peacefully till their return from the forest . The three of them donated everything they had happily and there by fulfilled their duty before leaving Ayodhya. 

Lakshmana visited the house of Vasishta Maharshi to bring an inexhaustible quiver (Akshaya  Bathalike),  extraordinary bows and gem-studded  swords which were presented to Rama and Lakshmana on the occasion of their marriage. 

Along with these ,he had also brought a spade( guddali)and an axe (Kodali)since they were going into the forest. The axe and the spade  came into the hands of Rama who had defeated 'Kodali Rama' ( Parashurama)!.
