ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೩೩

ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ತಾಯಿ ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯ ಅನುಮತಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು.ರಾಮನ ಬೇಕು ಬೇಡಗಳನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸದೆ ಅವನೊಡನಿದ್ದು ಅಂದಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಘಟನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ ರಾಮನ ಅರಮನೆಗೂ ಅವನೊಡನೆಯೇ ಬಂದನು.

ತಾಯಿಯು ದು:ಖದಿಂದ ಹತಾಶಳಾಗಿ ದುರಂತ ತಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದೆಂದು ತನ್ನ ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅದುಮಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಅವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಮಯ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಇಟ್ಟು ಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.ತನ್ನ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ಸತಿ ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲೆಂದು ಬಂದವನ ಮುಖ ನೋಡಿಯೇ ಸೀತೆಯು ಆಗಬಾರದ್ದೇನೋ ಆಗಿದೆಯೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಹೆದರಿ ನಡುಗುತ್ತಾ - ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೇನಿದು? ಹೀಗೇಕಿರುವೆ?- ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದಳು.ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಮನು ಚುಟುಕಾಗಿ- ಸೀತೆ, ಪೂಜ್ಯಪಾದನಾದ  ತಂದೆಯು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ-ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕೈಕೇಯಿಯು ಪಡೆದ ಎರಡು ವರಗಳ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.ಬಳಿಕ ಸೀತೆಗೆ- ನೀನಿಲ್ಲಿ ಮಡಿಯುಟ್ಟು ವ್ರತೋಪವಾಸ ನಿಷ್ಠಳಾಗಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಧರ್ಮನಿರತಳಾಗಿ ಪುತ್ರ ವಿರಹದಿಂದ ದು:ಖಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ತಾಯಿ ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯನ್ನೂ,ವೃದ್ಧನಾದ ತಂದೆ ದಶರಥನನ್ನೂ,ರಾಜ ಭರತನನ್ನೂ ಸೇವಿಸುತ್ತಿರಬೇಕು-ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಆಘಾತಗೊಳ್ಳದ ಸೀತೆ-ಅಷ್ಟೇ ತಾನೇ?.ನನ್ನನ್ನೂ ವನವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು.ಪತಿಯೊಂದಿಗಿರಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ಸತಿಧರ್ಮ.ಇಹದಲ್ಲಾಗಲೀ ಪರದಲ್ಲಾಗಲೀ ಪತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಿಗೆ ಪರಮಾಶ್ರಯನು.ನಾನು ಚಿಕ್ಕವಳಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಿಯರಿಂದ ಸತಿಧರ್ಮದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ.ನೀನೇ ನನಗೆ 'ಪತಿ ವಿಹೀನಳಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಜೀವಿಸಲು ಸಮರ್ಥಳಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ'ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಿ ತಾನೇ? ಇಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ ನಾನು ಚಿಕ್ಕವಳಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಮ್ಮ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದ ತೇಜಸ್ವೀ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂನ್ಯಾಸಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ನಿನಗೆ ವನವಾಸದ ಯೋಗವಿದೆಯೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರು.ಅದೂ ಇಂದು ಕೈಗೂಡುತ್ತಿದೆ.-ಎಂದು ತನ್ನ ಮನದಾಳದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ದೃಢವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದಳು.

ಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದುರ್ಗಮ ಗುಡ್ಡ ಬೆಟ್ಟ ನದಿಗಳು,ಕ್ರೂರ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು,ರಕ್ಕಸರು, ಆಹಾರ ವಿಹಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಲೆದಾಟ.. ಮುಂತಾದ ಭಯಾನಕ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟುವಂತೆ ರಾಮನು ಸೀತೆಯೆದುರು ತೆರೆದಿಟ್ಟರೂ ಜಪ್ಪಯ್ಯ ಎನ್ನದ ಸೀತೆ ಕೊನೆಗೆ - "ತಪೋ ವಾ ಯದಿ ವಾರಣ್ಯಂ ಸ್ವರ್ಗೋ ವಾ ಸ್ವಾತ್ತ್ವಯಾ ಸಹ"

ತಪಶ್ಚರಣೆಯಾಗಲೀ,ವನವಾಸವಾಗಲೀ, ಸ್ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವುದಾಗಲೀ-ನಿನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಬೇಕು.ನಿನ್ನ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನನಗೆ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವುದೂ ಬೇಡ.   ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ವನವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಸಾಯುತ್ತೇನೆ-ಎಂದು ಬೆದರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾಗಿ ರಾಮನು ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯಲು ಒಪ್ಪಿದನು.ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲು ಬಳಸಿದ ಪತಿಸೇವೆಯ ಸೂತ್ರ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನೇ ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ್ದು ವಿಶೇಷ.

ರಾಮನು

ಸೀತೆಗೆ ದಾನ ಧರ್ಮಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅವಳು ಕಾರ್ಯ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಳಾಗಿ ವನವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂತಸದಿಂದ ಸಿದ್ಧಳಾದಳು.

 ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಪಟ್ಟತಪ್ಪಿದುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟೂ ಬೇಸರಿಸದೆ ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ರಾಮನೊಡನೆ  ವನವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟ ಸೀತೆಯ ಪತಿ ನಿಷ್ಠೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲು ಆಕೆಯ ಈ ಒಂದು ನಡೆ ಸಾಕು.

Rama finally got the permission of Kausalya in the presence of Lakshmana. Lakshmana who had been with Rama witnessing everything, followed Rama to his palace. 

Rama managed to hide all his emotions and feelings before his mother so that she would not be depressed and lose heart. But he could not hide his feelings for a longer time. The moment he entered his palace Seetha could sense and see the deepest agony on his face. She became anxious about Rama who was not his usual self. Seetha asked Rama what the matter was with him ,for which Rama narrated everything that had happened so far briefly. He revealed that Dhasharatha had wished to send him into the forest and explained her the story of Kaikeyee's two boons. Later he told Seetha to concrecrate herself and to perform Vrathas. Further he asked her to fulfill his wish by serving Kausalya who was heart broken ,the old Dhasharatha and Bharatha who was about to ascend the throne and told her to perform her duty honestly. 

But Seetha without being bewildered asked Rama if there was anything else to do and asked him to take her along with him into exile. She spoke about the duty of a wife ,where she stated that it was the duty of a wife to be with her husband, it could be on the  earth or on any other strange land since husband is the eternal shelter for a woman. She further explained Rama that she had learnt about the duties of a wife in her childhood itself. She reminded Rama of his own words about the duty of a wife ,where he had stated that a woman without a man would not be able to live. She also remembered, in her childhood Tejaswi Brahmana and a saint who had forecasted that she would go into exile in the future.

Seetha was firm in her decision and did not change her mind though Rama described and picturized the horrible hills,mountains, rivers, wild animals, demons , scarcity of food in the forest. After listening the words of Rama she recited " Thapo vaa yadi vaaranyam swargo vaa swathathva yaa saha" which means ,it could be penancing or living in forest or going to the heaven ,she would like to go with him and told him that she needed nothing more than Rama . She firmly stated and threatened Rama that she would die if she was not taken along with him . Rama couldn't convince Seetha the way he had convinced Kausalya. Finally without any alternatives he agreed to take Seetha with him. Rama got trapped in the same words that he had used to convince his mother. 

Rama told Seetha to donate her wealth. She did as he said and got busy in the preparation for going into exile happily. Seetha was not affected by anything not even by the fact that Rama would not be coronated .She was all ready to follow Rama into the exile happily which reflects her honesty and how faithful she was for Rama.
