 ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯನಮ:

ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೨೦೦

ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳು ಹೇಳಿದ  ಮಾತುಗಳು ಸೀತಾರಾಮರನ್ನು ಅರಿತವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಹೃದಯಾಂತರಾಳದ ಮಾತುಗಳೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದವು. ಆದರೆ ವಕ್ರಬುದ್ಧಿಯವರ ವಕ್ರದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ,ಕೊಂಕು ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ ಇದು ಸಾಕೇ??

ಇನ್ನೆಂದೂ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ 

ಸೀತೆಯಾಗಲೀ ತಾನಾಗಲೀ, 

ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಕುಶ ಲವರಾಗಲೀ,

ಸೋದರರಾಗಲೀ, 

ಕೊನೆಗೆ; 

ಸೀತೆಗೆ ಆಸರೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಈ ತನಕ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳು,

ಅವರ ಆಶ್ರಮ ವಾಸಿಗಳಾಗಲೀ ಲೋಕಾಪವಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಈಡಾಗಬಾರದೆಂದೇ ರಾಮ ಈ ಅಭೂತಪೂರ್ವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅಭೂತಪೂರ್ವ ಜನಸಮುದಾಯದ ನಡುವೆ ಸೀತೆ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಳೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಿ ತೋರಿಸಲಿ ಎಂಬ; ತನಗೂ ಸೀತೆಗೂ ನೀಡುವ ಜೀವನದ ಅತಿ  ದೊಡ್ಡ ದಾರುಣ ದುಃಖದ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ!

ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯ ನಂತರ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನು ತಪಸ್ವಿನಿಯಂತೆ ಕಾಷಾಯ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದ ಸೀತಾದೇವಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ; ನೆರೆದಿದ್ದ ಜನಸಮುದಾಯದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೈಮುಗಿದುಕೊಂಡು -

ಮಹಾಭಾಗರೇ,ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದ ನೀವು ಹೇಳಿದಂತಾಗಲಿ.ಸೀತೆಯು ಶುದ್ಧ ಚಾರಿತ್ತ್ರ್ಯಳೆಂಬ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ನನಗುಂಟಾಗಿದೆ.ಹಿಂದೆಯೂ ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂತಹ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ಜರಗಿತು.ಆಗಲೂ ಸೀತೆಯು ತಾನು  ಶುದ್ಧ ಚಾರಿತ್ತ್ರ್ಯಳೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅಗ್ನಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಿದ್ಧ ಪಡಿಸಿದಳು.

ಆ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಲೇ ನಾನವಳಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಅರಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟೆನು.

ಮುಂದೆ ಪುನ: ಪ್ರಬಲವಾದ ಲೋಕಾಪವಾದವು ಬಂತು.ಅದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಮೈಥಿಲಿಯನ್ನು ತ್ಯಜಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿ ಬಂತು. ಸೀತೆಯು ಎಂದೆಂದೂ ನಿಷ್ಪಾಪಳೆಂಬ ವಿಷಯವು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿದ್ದಿತು.ಹಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಲೋಕಾಪವಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆದರಿ ನನ್ನ ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿತ್ಯಜಿಸಿದೆನು.

ನನ್ನ ಈ ಅಪರಾಧವನ್ನು ತಾವು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಬೇಕು.

ಅವಳಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಕುಶ ಲವರು ನನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳೆಂಬುದೂ ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತು. ಆದರೂ,ಸುರಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರೇ,ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳೇ,ಸೀತೆಯು ಈ ಜನಸಮುದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಪಾವಿತ್ರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಮಾಣೀಕರಿಸಿದರೆ ಆಕೆಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ  ನನಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯುಂಟಾಗುತ್ತದೆ-

ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಸಾರ್ವಭೌಮ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮ!

ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಪತಿ!

ಇನ್ನು-

ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸೀತಾರಾಮನ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸೀತೆಯ ಸರದಿ!

The statements which were made by Valmiki Maharshi were the innermost feelings of those who had known Seetha and Rama well. But , Is this enough to the scoffing and the malevolent glance of the crooked minded people?

Rama came to the decision that, in the future never and ever anyone should be subjected to the blame of the society, it could be Seetha or he, or their children Kusha - Lava or his brothers  or Valmiki Maharshi who protected Seetha by providing shelter or the inhabitants of the hermitage. During that unprecedented circumstance and before the unprecedented gathering Rama came to the decision that let Seetha prove that she was pure and sacred . He made the decision which would give the most unbearable grief to both Rama and Seetha in life !

After the statements of Valmiki Maharshi, by looking at Seethadevi who was in saffron garment as an ascetic woman ; ShreeRama addresses the mass by joining his palms together -

" To all of you who have assembled here, let it be the way how you said it to be since you are those who are well-versed in religion. I strongly believe that Seetha is purely a chaste woman. The same incident had occurred in the past too in the presence of the Gods. During that time too Seetha had proved that she is pure through ordeal by fire. 

Therefore I had given her place in my palace. 

But again, a strong blame was put on her by the society. Therefore I had to abandon Maithili. But I was aware of the fact that Seetha is sinless and will remain so forever . However, I abandoned my Seetha fearing for the blame of the people. 

I ask you all to forgive me for the mistake I have done. 

I know the fact that the twin children Kusha and Lava are my offsprings. 

But still, the superior of the monsters and Maharshis,  if Seetha proves her chastity in this assembly ,my love will increase even more on Seetha ". Rama uttered these words addressing the gathering. 

The emperor ShreeRama !

The helpless husband !

and now -

the turn of the helpless Seetha of helpless SeethaRama !
