 ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯನಮ:

ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೧೮೩

 ಸಾವಿರ ಹಂಡೆಗಳ ಬಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನಾದರೂ ಕಟ್ಟಬಹುದು;

ಒಂದು ದೊಂಡೆ(ಗಂಟಲು)ಯ ಬಾಯಿಯನ್ನಲ್ಲ!! 

ರಾಮನ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಇದು ನಿಜವಾಯಿತು! 

ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಕ್ಕು ಬಂದ ಸೀತೆಗೆ ಬಾಯಿಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಗುಳಿಯಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ!

ಒಂದಾದರೆ ಸರಿ! ನೂರೊಂದಾದರೆ!?

ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಆದರೆ!!?

"ಊರು ಉಪಕಾರ ಅರಿಯದು..." ಗಾದೆ- 

ಅಂದೂ ಸತ್ಯ,  ಇಂದೂ ನಿತ್ಯ !!

ಅತಿಯಾದರೆ ಸುಖವೂ ವಿಷ.

ಅದು ನೀಡಿದವರ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ!

ರಾಮನ ತುರ್ತು ಕರೆಗೆ ತಮ್ಮಂದಿರು ಓಗೊಟ್ಟು ಬಂದರು.

ತೇಜಸ್ವಿ ರಾಮ ಕಳಾಹೀನಾಗಿದ್ದ. 

ಕಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಬನಿ!

ಸೋದರರು ರಾಮನ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಣಿದು ಅವನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಾ ನಿಂತರು.

ಅವನ ಆಣತಿಯಂತೆ ಆಸೀನರಾದರು.

ದೀನವದನಗಳ ತಮ್ಮಂದಿರ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಅತಿದೀsನ ಅಣ್ಣ!!

"ನನ್ನ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೀತೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ವಿಧವಾದ ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿವೆ? ಹೇಳಿ.

ಪಟ್ಟಣಿಗರೂ ಪ್ರಾಂತೀಯರೂ ನನ್ನ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೀತೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ  ಕುತ್ಸಿತ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನೇ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.ಇದು ನನ್ನ  ಮರ್ಮಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಿದೆ"ಎಂದು ರಾಮ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿದ.

ಮುಂದುವರೆದು

"ನಾನು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಇಕ್ಷ್ವಾಕು ಕುಲ ಸಂಜಾತ.

ಸೀತೆ ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಜನಕನ ಉತ್ತಮ ಕುಲ ಸಂಜಾತೆ."

ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನಿಗೆ- ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ದಂಡಕಾರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾವಣ ಅಪಹರಿಸಿದ ವಿಷಯವೂ,

ನಾನು ರಾವಣನುನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿ ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಕರೆತಂದ ವಿಷಯವೂ ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ.ರಾವಣನ  ಅರಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬಹಳ  ದಿವಸಗಳವರೆಗೆ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು  ಹೇಗೆ ಕರೆದೊಯ್ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂಬ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದಾಗ ಆಕೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನೆದುರು ಅಗ್ನಿಪ್ರವೇಶ ಮಾಡಿದಳು. ಅಗ್ನಿಯೂ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಚಂದ್ರ ಆದಿತ್ಯ  ಮೊದಲಾದ ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಋಷಿಗಳ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀತೆ ನಿಷ್ಪಾಪಳೆಂದು ಜಗತ್ತೇ ಸಾರಿ ಹೇಳಿತು.ಆ ಬಳಿಕ ಶುದ್ಧ ಚಾರಿತ್ರ್ಯಳಾದ ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಇಂದ್ರನು ದೇವ-ಗಂಧರ್ವರ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ  ವಶಕ್ಕೊಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.ನನ್ನ ಅಂತರಾತ್ಮಕ್ಕೂ ಯಶಸ್ವಿನಿಯಾದ  ಸೀತೆ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಳೆಂಬ ವಿಷಯ ತಿಳಿದಿತ್ತು.ಆದುದರಿಂದಲೇ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ಅಯೋಧ್ಯೆಗೆ ಕರೆತಂದೆ.ಆದರೆ ಸೀತೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಅಪವಾದವು ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಹರಡಿದೆ.ಪುರವಾಸಿಗಳೂ,

ದೇಶವಾಸಿಗಳೂ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಹತ್ತರವಾದ ಆಪಾದನೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.ನಾನು ಇದರಿಂದ ತುಂಬಾ ನೊಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ.ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯ ಅಪಕೀರ್ತಿಯು ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ  ಚರ್ಚಾಸ್ಪದವಾಗುವುದೋ ಅಂತಹವನು ತನ್ನ ಅಪಕೀರ್ತಿಯ ಚರ್ಚೆಯು ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವವರೆಗೂ ನರಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿರಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.ಪುರುಷಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರೇ,ನಾನು ಲೋಕಾಪವಾದದ ಭಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣಗಳನ್ನಾದರೂ ತೊರೆದೇನು( ಸೀತೆಯೂ ಇದೇ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾಳೆ),

ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನಾದರೂ ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿಯೇನು,ಹೀಗಿರುವಾಗ ಸೀತೆಯ ತ್ಯಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನಿದೆ?ನಾನೀಗ ಶೋಕಸಾಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ.ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದ ದುಃಖವನ್ನು  ನಾನು ಹಿಂದೆಂದೂ ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದ ನೆನಪಿಲ್ಲ. ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ! ನೀನು ನಾಳೆ ಬೆಳಗಾಗುತ್ತಲೇ ಸುಮಂತ್ರನೇ ಸಾರಥಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ರಥದಲ್ಲಿ  ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಕುಳ್ಳಿರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಗಡಿಯಿಂದಾಚೆ  ಗಂಗಾನದಿಯ ಆಚೆಯ ದಡದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮಹಾತ್ಮರಾದ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿಗಳ ದಿವ್ಯವಾದ ಆಶ್ರಮವಿದೆ.ತಮಸಾನದೀ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆ ದಿವ್ಯ ಆಶ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಜನವಾದ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು  ಬೇಗ ಬಂದು ಬಿಡು-ಎಂದು ಆದೇಶಿಸಿದನು.

ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳ ಬಾಯ ಬೆಂಕಿಗೆ ರಾಮ- 

ನೊಂದ

ಬೆಂದ

ಉರಿದ...

ಸೀತೆ....???

ರಾಮ ರಾಮಾss,

ಪ್ರಜಾವತ್ಸಲ ರಾಮನನ್ನೇ ,

ಮಹಾಪತಿವ್ರತೆ ಸೀತಾಮಾತೆಯನ್ನೇ ಎಲುಬಿಲ್ಲದ ನಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದರೆ.....

The mouths of the hundred boilers can be tied ; but not the mouth of a throat !!

This proved true in the case of Rama !

Seetha who had come out entering fire, could not stay out of the fire of the mouth !

It is fine if it is one ! but what if it is hundreds !?

What if it is thousands !! ?

The proverb " The city is not aware of the help..." - was true even then, true even now !!

If it is too much then even the pleasure is venom. 

For those who have given that !

The brothers came to see Rama, respecting and responding to his emergency call . 

The radiant Rama had become pale.

There were tears in his eyes !

The brothers fell down to the feet of Rama and then kept waiting for the words of Rama.

Then they be seated as per the command of Rama.

Among the humble faces of the brothers, the depressed face of the elder brother !!

Rama asks -

" Tell me - what kind of discussions are going on among the citizens regarding Seetha and I ? The inhabitants of the town and the villagers have contemptuous opinions about Seetha and I which is thrusting the private parts of my body " - Rama shared his trauma with his brothers in this way. 

He continues, 

" I  am the son of the great clan Ikshvaku. 

Seetha is the daughter of the clan of the great man Janaka ".   After saying this he says to Lakshmana -

" You are aware of the incidents where Seetha was abducted by Ravana and how I brought her back after slaying Ravana. When I was hit by a thought that how can I take her back who had been residing in the palace of Ravana for so many days, she entered the fire right infront of your eyes. The entire universe itself claimed that Seetha is sinless, in the divine presence of including Agni, Moon, Sun, other gods and sages . After that Indra handed over the sacred and chaste Seetha to me in the presence of the Gods and the celestial beings. Even my conscience too knew the much - praised Seetha is sacred and pure. Therefore I brought her to Ayodhya. But Seetha is ill named widespread. The inhabitants of Ayodhya and the inhabitants of region are imposing the supreme blame on me. I have suffered a lot from this. 

The defame of an animal which becomes the subject of the discussion in this world, such a man has to lie in the hell until the discussion of his own defamation goes on in the world. Dear virtuous men, I may abandon my life fearing for the blame of the world ( Seetha too says the same), I may even abandon you all, in that case what is there to say in sacrificing Seetha ? I have drowned in the sea of grief now. I dont recollect any memory of experiencing the grief to this extend ever before. Lakshmana ! By the time the sun rises  tomorrow , take Seetha in the chariot in which Sumantra himself will be the charioteer and go to the divine hermitage of great Valmiki which is out of the border of Ayodhya and which is in the shore across the river Ganga. Leave Seetha there in the deserted region of the divine hermitage which is there in the shore of the river Thamasa and come back soon. - In this way Rama commanded Lakshmana. 

Because of the fire which came out of the citizens' mouth -

Rama suffered, 

boiled, 

got burnt...

Seetha ....???

Rama Ramaaa,

If the tongue which has no bones has not spared even the greatest chaste woman Seetha and Rama the one who was kind towards the citizens, then....
