ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೧೭೭

ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ರಾಮನು ರಾವಣನ ಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ. ಇದೀಗ ಕುತೂಹಲ ಕೆರಳಿ ಹನುಮನ ಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವಾಸೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿತು.ರಾಮನ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳು ಈಡೇರಿಸಲು ಹನುಮನ ಕತೆ ಸುರು ಮಾಡಿದರು...

ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯರು ಸಂತಸದಿಂದ ಕತೆ ಹೇಳತೊಡಗಿದರು-

ಬಲ-ವೇಗ-ಬುದ್ಧಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಾಮಾನ್ಯನಾದ ಆಂಜನೇಯ ಸುಮೇರು ಪರ್ವತ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ರಾಜ ಕೇಸರಿಯು ಪತ್ನಿ ಅಂಜನಾಳ ಮೂಲಕ ವಾಯದೇವನಿಂದ ಪಡೆದ ಪುತ್ರ. ಬತ್ತದ ತುದಿಯ ಬಣ್ಣ (ಪಿಂಗಳ)ದವ.ಇವನು ಶೈಶವಾವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ಒಂದು ಬೆಳಗಿನ ಹೊತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಪರೀತ ಹಸಿವಾಯಿತು.

ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾಯಿಯಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆಗ ತಾನೇ ಉದಯಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸೂರ್ಯನನ್ನು ಹಣ್ಣೆಂದು ಬಗೆದು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೀಳಲು ಹಾರಿದ! ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯಾಶಾಖ ತಟ್ಟಬಾರದೆಂದು ತಣ್ಣಗಾದ ವಾಯದೇವನು ಆಂಜನೇಯನೊಡನೆ ಸಾಗಿದನು.

ಇನ್ನೇನು ಸೂರ್ಯನನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಲು ರಾಹು ಬಂದ. ಆಂಜನೇಯನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ ರಾಹು ಭಯಗೊಂಡ!ಆಂಜನೇಯ ರಾಹುವೂ ಹಣ್ಣೆಂದು ಬಗೆದು ಅವನನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಲು ಹೊರಟ.

ಬೆದರಿದ ರಾಹು ಇಂದ್ರನಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ತೆರಳಿ ಇಂದ್ರನಿಗೆ-ನನಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಾದ ರವಿ ಚಂದ್ರರನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನಲು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಕಳಿಸಿದ್ದೀಯಾ.

ಅವನೀಗ ನನ್ನನ್ನೇ ತಿನ್ನಲು ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ-ಎಂದು  ದೂರಿತ್ತ .ತಕ್ಷಣ ಅಚ್ಚರಿಗೊಂಡ ಇಂದ್ರನು ಐರಾವತವನ್ನೇರಿ ಧಾವಿಸಿದ.ಐರಾವತವನ್ನು ಕಂಡ ಆಂಜನೇಯ ಅದೂ ಹಣ್ಣೆಂದು ಬಗೆದು ತಿನ್ನಲು ಧಾವಿಸಿದಾಗ ಇಂದ್ರನು ತನ್ನ ವಜ್ರಾಯುಧದಿಂದ ಆಂಜನೇಯನನ್ನು ಹಗುರವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಹರಿಸಿದ.ಇದರಿಂದ  ಅವನು ಒಂದು ಪರ್ವತದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದ.ಆಗ ಅವನ ಎಡಗೆನ್ನೆಯ ದವಡೆಯು ಮುರಿಯಿತು. ಮಗನ ದುಸ್ಥಿತಿ ನೋಡಿದ ವಾಯದೇವನು ಸಿಟ್ಟಿಗೆದ್ದು ಮುಷ್ಕರ ಹೂಡಿದನು.

ವಾಯುಪ್ರಕೋಪದಿಂದ ಮೂರೂ ಲೋಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲೋಲ ಕಲ್ಲೋಲವುಂಟಾಯಿತು.

ಬದುಕು ಕಷ್ಟವಾಯಿತು. ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನಿಗೆ  ಮೊರೆಯಿಡಲು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ದೇವತೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಗು ಆಂಜನೇಯನನ್ನು ಮಡಿಲಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಒಂದು ಗುಹೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದ ವಾಯದೇವನಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಪಡಿಸಿದನು. 

ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ಆಂಜನೇಯನನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಲು ಆಂಜನೇಯ ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಮೊದಲಿನಂತಾದ!ವಾಯದೇವನು ಸಂತಸಗೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ 

ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ.

ಲೋಕಗಳು ಮತ್ತೆ ಜೀವತಳೆದವು!ತನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ದೇವತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ಹನುಮನಿಗೆ ವರಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡಲು ಹೇಳಿದ. ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನಿಂದ ಮುಂದೆ ಅನೇಕಾನೇಕ ದೇವತಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಆಗಲಿವೆ!!

ಇಂದ್ರ-ಇವನು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಹನುಮಾನ್ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧನಾಗುವನು.ತನ್ನ ವಜ್ರಾಯುಧದಿಂದಲೂ ಇವನ ವಧೆ ಅಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎಂದು ವರ ನೀಡಿದ.

ಸೂರ್ಯ-ತನ್ನ ತೇಜಸ್ಸಿನ ನೂರನೇ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗವನ್ನು, ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಾಧ್ಯಯನದ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ- ಜ್ಞಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವ ವರ ನೀಡಿದ. 

ವರುಣ- ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಮರಣಭಯವಿಲ್ಲದಿರಲಿ ಎಂಬ ವರ ನೀಡಿದರೆ

ಯಮ-ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕರ ದೃಢಕಾಯ,ಅಮರತ್ವದ ವರ ನೀಡಿದ!

ಕುಬೇರ-ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಷಣ್ಣತೆ, ಹಾಗೂ  ತನ್ನಿಂದ ಸೋಲು ಬಾರದಿರಲಿ ಎಂಬ ವರ ನೀಡಿದ. 

ಶಂಕರ- ತನ್ನಿಂದ, ಆಯುಧಗಳಿಂದ ಸಾವು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹರಸಿದ.

ವಿಶ್ವಕರ್ಮ-ಚಿರಂಜೀವತ್ವವನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ.

ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ-ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಭಯಂಕರ,ಮಿತ್ರರಿಗೆ ಅಭಯಂಕರ,ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾಸ್ತ್ರದಿಂದ ಸ್ವತಃ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಪಡೆಯುವ ಶಕ್ತಿ..ಗಳನ್ನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದ. 

ಬಳಿಕ  ದೇವತೆಗಳು  ಅವರವರ ಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಿಗೆ ತೆರಳಿದರು.  ವಾಯದೇವನು ತೃಪ್ತನಾಗಿ ಹನುಮನನ್ನು ಅಂಜನೆಗೊಪ್ಪಿಸಿ 

ತಾನೂ ಹೊರಟನು.

Rama heard the story of Ravana from Agasthya Maharshi . And now the desire of hearing the story of Hanuman arose in Rama out of curiosity. Maharshi began to narrate the story of Hanuman as per the wish of Rama...

Agasthya began to narrate the story happily - 

Aanjaneya who was peerless in strength-speed-wisdom ,was the son of Kesari the king of Sumeru mountain. He was the son whom Kesari had begotten through his wife Anjana from Vaayudeva. Aanjaneya was of the complexion of the tip of paddy grass. One morning, when he was an infant, Aanjaneya felt too hungry .

The mother was not there.

He saw the rising Sun and flew to pluck Sun assuming him to be a fruit ! The cool Vaayu moved along with the son Aanjaneya so that he would not be affected by the warmth of Sun.

When he was about to touch Sun,

Raahu arrived there to eat Sun.

Raahu got startled seeing Aanjaneya !

Aanjaneya went to eat Raahu assuming him to be a fruit. 

Raahu who was terrified went to Indra and told him that he had sent someone else to consume Sun and Moon who were reserved for Raahu,and further complained Indra that he was comming to eat him. Indra who got surprised arrived in his Airaavatha immediately. Aanjaneya who saw Airaavatha went to eat it assuming that too to be a fruit. During the time Indra attacked Aanjaneya mildly with his artillery Vajraayudha . Due to this Aanjaneya fell on a mountain which broke the left side of his jaw. Vaayudeva who felt bad about the miserable condition of his son, got angry and began to strike. 

Due to the anger of Vaayu, turbulence was created in the three worlds. 

The life became difficult. 

The gods sought the help of Brahma. During the time Brahma came along with the gods to see Vaayu who was sitting with the child Aanjaneya on his lap, in a cave. Brahma consoled Vaayudeva. 

The moment Brahma touched Aanjaneya, Anjaneya regained his consciousness and rose to his feet as he was earlier ! Vaayudeva being happy began his duty.

The worlds got rejuvenated again ! Brahma asked the gods who had accompanied him ,to grant boons to Hanuman since there were lots of godly works which would get done by him !!

Indra - granted him the boon that he would popularly be known as Hanuman in the future. And it would be impossible to slay him even from his Vajraayudha. 

Sun - granted him the boon that he would obtain a part of one hundred of his radiance and the efficiency and wisdom of Shastras ( religious study).

Varuna - granted him the boon that Aanjaneya would not have any fear of death from him.

Yama - granted him the boon of acquiring healthy , robust body and immortality !

Kubera - granted him the boon that he would not be defeated by him and he would not be dejected in the battle. 

Shankara - blessed Aanjaneya that he would not be slayed by him and by any artilleries. 

Vishwakarma - granted him the immortality. 

Brahma granted him the boon of being dreadful for the enemies, being poise for his friends and the boon of obtaining the power of emancipating himself from Brahmaastra. 

After that the gods returned to their respective places. Vaayudeva being contented left by handing over Hanuman to Anjana.
