ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೧೭೩
ದಾಳಿ ರಾವಣನ ಕಾಯಕವಾಯಿತು.
ಕೊಲೆ ಅವನ ಹವ್ಯಾಸವಾಯಿತು.
ಪೀಡಿತರ ರೋದನ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮನರಂಜನೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಸಂಗೀತವಾಯಿತು.
ಅಸಂಖ್ಯ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರ ರೋದನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶೂರ್ಪನಖಿಯ ರೋದನವೆನ್ನುವ ಆರ್ಭಟೆಯೂ ಸೇರಿತು!ಅವಳು ಬಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಾಗಲೇ ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನಿಂದ ಅವಳ ಗಂಡ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಸಂಗತಿ ಗೊತ್ತಾದದ್ದು!!(ರಾವಣನ ಹಿಂಸಾಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿ ಅವನ ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಅಷ್ಟೂ ಕುರುಡಾಗಿಸಿತ್ತು!)ಕೊನೆಗೂ ಅವಳನ್ನು ಹೇಗೇಗೋ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಪಡಸಿ ಖರನೊಂದಿಗೆ ದಂಡಕಾರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳಿಸಿದನು.
ಇತ್ತ ರಾವಣನು ಸೆಳೆದು ತಂದಿದ್ದ ಪತಿವ್ರತೆಯರು ರೋಷದಿಂದ ' ಪರಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಾಗಿಯೇ ಅವನ ಸಾವಾಗಲಿ' ಎಂದು ಶಪಿಸಿದರು. ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟಿನ ಒಕ್ಕೊರಲ ಶಾಪ! ಒಮ್ಮೆಲೇ ರಾವಣನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯು ಕುಂದಿತು.
ಲಂಕೆಗೆ ಬಂದ ರಾವಣನು ನಿಕುಂಭಿಲಾದೇವಿಯ ಮಂದಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪುತ್ರ ಮೇಘನಾದನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಯಜ್ಞವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಸಂತಸಪಟ್ಟನು.ಆತನ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳಾದ-ದಿವ್ಯರಥ ಸಂಪಾದನೆ,
ತಾಮಸೀ ಮಾಯಾವಿದ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಒಲಿಸಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದು,
ಅಕ್ಷಯ ಬತ್ತಳಿಕೆಗಳ- ಬಾಣಗಳ ಸಂಪಾದನೆ..ಮುಂತಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು - ಶುಕ್ರಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯಿಂದ ಬೀಗಿದನು.
ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ರಾವಣನು ವಿಭೀಷಣ- ಮೇಘನಾದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ತಾನು ಸೆರೆಹಿಡಿದು ಕರೆತಂದಿದ್ದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.ಅಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅವರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ ವಿಭೀಷಣನು ಅಣ್ಣ ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ಪರಸ್ತ್ರೀ ವ್ಯಾಮೋಹದ ಅಪಾಯವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿ ಅದನ್ನು ತೊರೆಯಲು ಹೇಳಿದ.ರಾವಣನು ಬೇರೆ ಲೋಕಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿಯಿಡಲು ಹೋದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಧು ಎಂಬ ರಾಕ್ಷಸನು ಸೋದರಿ ಕುಂಭೀನಸಿಯನ್ನು ಎಳೆದೊಯ್ದ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನೂ ಹೇಳಿದ. ಆದರೆ ಅವಿವೇಕಿ ರಾವಣನು ವಿಭೀಷಣನ ಸಲಹೆಯನ್ನು, ಹಿತವಚನಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ!
ಮಧುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡ.ತತ್ಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಅಪಾರ ಸೇನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಧುಪುರಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಳಿಯಿಟ್ಟನು.
ಆದರೆ ತಂಗಿಯ ದಯನೀಯ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲದೆ ತನ್ನೊಡನೆ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು.
ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋದ ರಾವಣನು ಮರಳಿ ಕುಬೇರನ ವಾಸಸ್ಥಾನವಾದ ಕೈಲಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.ಕೈಲಾಸದ ಸೊಬಗಿಗೆ ಮಾರುಹೋದ ರಾವಣನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸುತ್ತಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಕುಬೇರನ ಮಗ ನಳಕೂಬರನ ಪ್ರೇಯಸಿ ಸಾಲಂಕೃತ ರಂಭೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಳು. ಪ್ರಿಯಕರನನ್ನು ಕೂಡಲು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅವಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವಳ ಇಚ್ಛೆಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ. ರಂಭೆಯಿಂದ ವಿಷಯ ತಿಳಿದ ಮಹಾನ್ ತಪಸ್ವಿ ನಳಕೂಬರನು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು -ಸಮಾಗಮಕ್ಕೆ ಇಚ್ಛೆಯಿಲ್ಲದ ಹೆಂಗಸಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ರಾವಣನು ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ತಲೆಯು ಏಳು ಚೂರುಗಳಾಗಿ ಒಡೆದು ಹೋಗಲಿ- ಎಂದು ಶಪಿಸಿದ. ನಳಕೂಬರನ ಶಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ರಾವಣ ಹೆದರಿದ! ನಳಕೂಬರನ ಶಾಪ ಸೀತೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಿಗೆ ವರವಾಯಿತು!!ಲಂಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯ ನೊಂದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಸಂತಸದಿಂದ ಕುಣಿದು ಕುಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿದರು.

Expedition became the work of Ravana.
Murdering became his habit.
The lamentation and the groaning of those who were harassed became music of entertainment for him.
Along with the loud cry of countless women, the bellowing called roar of Shoorpanakha too joined ! Ravana came to know that her husband had been killed only when she came and told him !! (The violent nature of Ravana had blinded his rationality to such extent !) Finally he consoled Shoorpanakha somehow and sent her to Dandakaaranya with Khara.
On the other hand, the chaste women who had been dragged by Ravana, cursed him out of anger that let him die because of an another woman.
The curse of unanimity ! The power of Ravana decreased all of a sudden.
Ravana who had come to Lanka went to the temple of the goddess Nikulambhilaadevi and felt happy seeing his son Meghanaada performing sacrificial ritual there. He heard the achievements of his son from Shukraacharya such as gaining the finest chariot, obtaining the bad skill of creating illusion , earning the inexhaustible quiver and arrows etc. Ravana grew conceited after hearing the achievements of his son.
From there Ravana along with Vibhishana and Meghanaada came to the place where he had imprisoned women whom he had captivated . Vibhishana who saw those women crying told the brother Ravana to renounce the infatuation on other women by explaining its dangerous consequences. He also told Ravana about the monster called Madhu who took away their sister Kumbheenasi. During the time Ravana had gone on the expedition on the other worlds. But the irrational Ravana did not listen to the suggestions and the good advice given by Vibhishana !
He became angry on Madhu. He marched towards Madhupura along with his huge army immediately. But as per the humble prayer of the sister ,without slaying Madhu, Ravana took him for the duel with him.
Ravana who moved on from there, went to Kailasa again the abode of Kubera. Ravana was enchanted by the beauty of Kailasa. while he was wandering there , Rambha the beloved of Nalakoobara the son of Kubera was seen to Ravana. Ravana raped her against her will who had been going to meet her beloved. The great ascetic Nalakoobara who got to know about the evil act of Ravana by Rambha, got angry and cursed Ravana that incase he would ever try to seduce a woman against her wish then let his head be broken into seven pieces. Ravana was terrified by the curse of Nalakoobara ! The curse of Nalakoobara became boon to countless women including Seetha !!
The countless women who were in Lanka and who were hurt ,overjoyed and jumped out of happiness .
