'ಅಡಿ ತಪ್ಪಿದ್ದರೆ ಆನೆಯೂ ಮಗುಚೀತು'- ನಮ್ಮ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಹಿರಿಮಾತು ರಾವಣನ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಯಿತು.

•ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಬಲ್ಲವ-ಗೆದ್ದವ, ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಗೆದ್ದವ.

•ನಾಕ ನರಕಗಳನ್ನು ಗೆದ್ದಾತ ಮರ್ತ್ಯದ ಮಾನವನಿಗೆ ಸೋತು ಸತ್ತ!

•ಜಿತೇಂದ್ರಿಯನಾಗಿ ಮೂರುಲೋಕಗಳನ್ನು ಗೆದ್ದಾತನನ್ನು ಇಂದ್ರಿಯಗಳೇ ಸೋಲಿಸಿದವು!!

• ಜಗದ ಮೂಲೆ ಮೂಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೆರೆದಾಡಿದವ ರಣರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಾಥನಂತೆ ಬೀಳಬೇಕಾಯಿತು!

•ಶುಭಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದವ ಶುಭವನ್ನು,ಅಶುಭ ಮಾಡಿದವ ಅಶುಭ ಫಲವನ್ನೇ ಉಣುತ್ತಾನೆ.ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಭೀಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ನೀನೇ ಉದಾಹರಣೆ.

•ಮತಿಗೆಟ್ಟವನೇ,ಸೀತಾದೇವಿಯು ಅರುಂಧತೀ ರೋಹಿಣಿಯರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟಳಾದ ಪತಿವ್ರತೆ.

ಅಂತಹವಳನ್ನು ಕಾಮಿಸಿದ ನೀನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಕ್ಕುದಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.

...ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು ಮಂದೋದರಿ;ರಾವಣ ಸತಿ,ಮಹಾಪತಿವ್ರತೆಯರಲ್ಲೊಬ್ಬಳು- ಸತ್ತು ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದ ರಾವಣನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ!

•ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನು ಮಹಾಯೋಗಿ,

ಸನಾತನನಾದ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನು.

ಅಜೇಯ.ಶಾಶ್ವತ.

ಲೋಕಗಳ ಹಿತಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಮಹಾವಿಷ್ಣುವೇ ರಾಮನಾಗಿ,ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಕಪಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಅವತರಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮನು ರಾಕ್ಷಸ ಪರಿವಾರದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನುಸಂಹರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

•ಜನಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಖರನೂ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಮಂದಿ ರಕ್ಕಸರನ್ನು ರಾಮನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಕೊಂದಾಗ ನಾವು ಅವನು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯನಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಕಿತ್ತು.

•ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಅಭೇದ್ಯವಾದ ಲಂಕೆಗೆ ಹನುಮನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಬಂದು ಬೆಂಕಿ ಇಕ್ಕುವಲ್ಲಿಯ ತನಕ ತನ್ನ ಸಾಹಸ ತೋರಿದಾಗಲೂ ನೀನು  ಅನಿಷ್ಟ ಯೋಚಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.

•ರಾಘವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ಬೇಡವೆಂದು ನಾನು ಹಲವಾರು ಬಾರಿ ಹೇಳಿದರೂ ನೀನು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. 

•ಮಾಡಿದ್ದುಣ್ಣೋ ಮಾರಾಯಾ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ  ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಉಣ್ಣುವಂತಾಯಿತು.

•ಮೂರು ಲೋಕಗಳನ್ನು ಗೆದ್ದ ನೀನು ಹೆಂಗಸನ್ನು ಕದ್ದೊಯ್ದು ತರುವ ನೀಚ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನೇಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ?ಅದೂ ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರಿಲ್ಲದ ವೇಳೆ!

•ಆಗಲೇ ಮೈದುನನೂ,ಸತ್ಯವಾದಿಯೂ, ಭೂತ ಭವಿಷ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬಲ್ಲವನೂ ಆದ ವಿಭೀಷಣನ 'ಈಗ ರಾಕ್ಷಸ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರ ವಿನಾಶಕಾಲವು ಸನ್ನಿಹಿತವಾಯಿತು' ಎಂಬ ಮಾತನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದರೆ ಈ ಗತಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.ಅವನ ಹಿತ ನುಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೊರಗಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಪರಿಣಾಮ-ಅವನು ಉಳಿದ,ನೀನು ಅಳಿದೆ.ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಾವೂ..

••ಇವೆಲ್ಲ ಮಂದೋದರಿಯ ಪ್ರಲಾಪ.ಅವಳೆಂದಲ್ಲ; 

ಲಂಕೆಯ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೂ ರಾಮನನ್ನು ತೆಗಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಬೈಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆತ್ಮ ಚಿಂತನೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಅವರು ನೋವಿನಿಂದ ಮಾತಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. 

ಇವೆಲ್ಲದರ ನಡುವೆ ವಿಭೀಷಣನು  ಮೊದ ಮೊದಲು ಒಲ್ಲೆನೆಂದರೂ ಬಳಿಕ ರಾವಣನ ಶವಸಂಸ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ವಿಧಿವತ್ತಾಗಿ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದನು.

ಮಂದೋದರಿಯೂ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ರಾವಣನ ಮಡದಿಯರು ಸಹಗಮನ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಸಂಗದ ಉಲ್ಲೇಖ ಇಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ.

' If the feet slip, the elephant also falls ' - The experienced statement of our veterans turned true in the case of Ravana. 

• " Omniscient , triumphant, and the one who has won against everyone. 

• The one who had won the heaven and the hell died being defeated by the man of the mortal world !

• The one who had won the three worlds being the master of the senses ,got defeated by the same organs of the senses   !!

• The one who was once flaunting in the nook and corner of the world, had to end his life as an orphan in the battlefield !

• The one who has done the good deed will eat the fruit of auspicious and the one who has done the sinful deed will eat the fruit of inauspicious. Vibhishana and you are the examples for this .

• You are an irrational and an insane. Seethadevi is more chaste than Arundhathi and Rohini. You did a sinful deed of longing for such a woman Seethadevi which was not good

       for  you."

... These words were stated by Mandodari,  the wife of Ravana, one of the great chastised women, looking at her dead husband !

• "ShreeRama is the great monk ,the almighty who is untouched by the time .

        Unconquerable. Eternal. 

• The Lord Vishnu himself being Rama, the Gods being the apes ,Rama slayed you along with your family of monsters for the welfare of the world. 

• When Rama alone killed Khara along with thousands of monsters in ' Janasthaana' ,we had to realise that he was not an ordinary man.

• You, the sinister did not even think for once about the doom even after Hanuman exhibiting his valor by entering Lanka alone and burning that which was impossible even for the gods to enter.

• You did not listen my words when I adviced you not to have animosity with Raghava. 

• 'Eat what you have prepared ' but here, along with you, we have to eat what you have prepared. 

• Why did you, who had won the 3 worlds, commit the heinous deed of abducting a woman ? That too in the absence of Rama and Lakshmana !

• If you have listened the words of the brother in law, Vibhishana who knows the past and the future who adviced that " The doom of the great monsters has approached ",then this plight would not have come. You threw him away without taking his words seriously.  As a result, he survived, you got perished. Along with you , we....

....These are  the griefs of Mandodari. Not only she ; but no woman in Lanka abused Rama.

They did not rebuke .

They were speaking as if they were introspecting.

Amidst of all these , Vibhishana performed the funeral rites of Ravana following the custom, though he refused to do that in the beginning. 

The incident of Mandodari and other wives of Ravana performing ' Sahagamana' (which means a wife burning herself with her 

 husband's corpse)  is not mentioned here ( in Valmiki Ramayana).
