ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೯೪

ದಣಿವರಿಯದ ವಾನರವೀರ ಹನುಮ.ಆಗಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾರಿ ಹಾರಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.ಸಮುದ್ರರಾಜನಿಗೆ ಹನುಮನ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಲವು ಅನುಕಂಪಗಳು ಮೂಡಿದವು.ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಾಗರನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಬಲವಂತನನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿದವನು ಸಗರ ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿ.ಅವನ ವಂಶದ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಹುದೂರ ಸಾಗಲಿರುವ ಹನುಮನಿಗೆ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿಗಾಗಿ ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕ ತಂಗುದಾಣ ನೀಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದನು.ತನ್ನಲ್ಲೇ ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಪರ್ವತ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನಾದ ಮೈನಾಕನಿಗೆ ನೀರಿಂದ ಮೇಲೆದ್ದು ನಿಂತು ಹನುಮನಿಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯ ನೀಡಲು ಹೇಳಿದನು.ಮೈನಾಕನು ನೀರಿಂದ ಮೇಲೆದ್ದು ನಿಂತು ಕಂಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು.ಏಕಾಏಕಿ ತನ್ನ ದಾರಿಗಡ್ಡವಾಗಿ ಬಂದ ಗಿರಿಯನ್ನು ಹನುಮನು ವಿಘ್ನಕಾರಿಯೆಂದೇ ತಿಳಿದನು.ತನ್ನೆದೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ಅದರ ಶಿಖರವನ್ನು ಪುಡಿಗುಟ್ಟಿ ಕೆಳಗುರುಳಿಸಿದನು.ಹನುಮನ ವೇಗವನ್ನು ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಸಂತಸಗೊಂಡ ಮೈನಾಕನು ತನ್ನ ಆತಿಥ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ ಕೃತಾರ್ಥನನ್ನಾಗಿಸು ಎಂದು ಕೋರಿದನು.ಆಗ ಹನುಮನು ತನ್ನ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಸಾಧನೆಯಾಗದೆ ವಿಶ್ರಮಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನ ಮೈದಡವಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿದನು.

ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹನುಮನು ಆಗಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಎತ್ತರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾರಿ ವೇಗವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಾಗಿದನು.

 ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಋಷಿಗಳು ಹನುಮನ ಸತ್ತ್ವ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟರು.ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸರ್ಪಗಳ ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಸುರಸೆಯ ಸಹಾಯವನ್ನು ವಿನಂತಿಸಿದರು.ಅವರ ವಿನಂತಿಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಸುರಸೆಯು ಘೋರ ರಕ್ಕಸಿಯ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ತಾಳಿ ಹನುಮನ ದಾರಿಗಡ್ಡವಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಳು.ಹನುಮನು ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆಯೇ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿ ಬಾಯ್ದೆರೆದು ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಇಚ್ಛೆಯಂತೆ ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಆಹಾರವಾಗಿ ಬಾಯೊಳಗೆ ಬಾ ಎಂದಳು.ಹನುಮನು ವಿನೀತನಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಾಗಲು ದಾರಿ ಬಿಡುವಂತೆ ವಿನಂತಿಸಿದನು.ಸುರಸೆಯು ಒಪ್ಪದಿದ್ದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಹಿಗ್ಗಿಸಿದನು.ಆಗ ಸುರಸೆಯು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನಿತ್ತ ವರದಂತೆ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಬಾಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೊಕ್ಕೇ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯನ್ನೂ ಹಿಗ್ಗಿಸಿದಳು.ಹನುಮನು ತನ್ನ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಐದು ಹತ್ತು ಮೂವತ್ತು ಐವತ್ತು ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ತೊಂಬತ್ತು ಯೋಜನಗಳಷ್ಟು ಹಿಗ್ಗಿಸಿದರೆ ಸುರಸೆಯು ಪ್ರತಿ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲೂ ಹತ್ತು ಯೋಜನಗಳಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿದಳು.ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತ ಹನುಮನು ಒಮ್ಮೆಲೇ ತನ್ನ ದೇಹವನ್ನು  ಹೆಬ್ಬೆರಳ ಗಾತ್ರಕ್ಕಿಳಿಸಿ ಕಣ್ಣೆವೆ ಇಕ್ಕುವಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳ ಬಾಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೊಕ್ಕು ಹೊರಬಂದು ಆಕೆಯ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ನಡೆದುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿ ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾರಿದನು.ಸಂತಸಗೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ನಿಜರೂಪವನ್ನು ತೋರಿದ ಸುರಸೆಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಸಿದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಲೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾ ಶುಭಹಾರೈಸಿದಳು.

Hanuman ,the valiant was tireless. He was moving forward in the sky by leaping. The feeling of pity and affection arose in the heart of Varuna the king of ocean ,on Hanuman. He was made as Saagara and made so strong by the emperor Sagara. Varuna decided to give shelter for Hanuman who had to fly even far to fulfill the duty of Rama who belonged to the clan of Sagara. He commanded the mountain Mainaaka who was the superior and hiding within himself to rise above and give shelter to Hanuman. Mainaaka rose from the Varuna and stood sparkling. But Hanuman assumed that the mountain which rose all of a sudden was an impediment for him. He smacked the summit of the mountain down by his chest itself. Mainaaka was overjoyed by witnessing the force and speed of Hanuman. He requested Hanuman to accept his hospitality so that he would have the sense of fulfilling his duty. But Hanuman said that he had taken a pledge that he would not stop and respite until his duty was accomplished. Hanuman shook dust off his body and continued his journey. 

From there , Hanuman increased his speed and flew further above in the sky .The gods and sages decided to test the vigour of Hanuman,  for which they sought the help of Surasa who was the mother of serpents.  As per their request, Surasa disguised herself as a  hideous demon and stood in the way of Hanuman. As per the wish of the gods ,she stood with her mouth wide open while Hanuman was approaching . She told him to get inside her mouth and to be her food. But Hanuman requested her being humble, to let him go to fulfill his great duty and explained everything to her. When Surasa did not agree for that, Hanuman enlarged his body. During the time Surasa told him that ,as per the boon of Brahma, it was impossible to go forward without entering her mouth and enlarged her mouth further.  If Hanuman had enlarged himself in each time as 5, 10, 30, 50, 70, 90 yojanas then Surasa too enlarged her mouth in each stage more than 10 yojanas.  At last the wise Hanuman decreased himself to the size of a thumb finger and within the blink of the eyes he entered her  mouth and came out. He leapt forward by stating that he had acted as she had said. Surasa was overjoyed by Hanuman. She assumed her real form and wished him all the luck to accomplish his duty.
