ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೯೦

ವಾನರರಿಂದ ಸಂಪಾತಿಯು ರಾಮನ ಕತೆಯನ್ನು; ತನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮನ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ನೊಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.ಅವನು ವಾನರರಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯುವಂತೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.ವಾನರರು ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಲು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಂದು ತಮ್ಮನಿಗೆ ಜಲತರ್ಪಣವನ್ನಿತ್ತನು.ಬಳಿಕ ತಾನು ಮೊದಲಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿ ತನ್ನ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಕುತೂಹಲದಿಂದ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದ ವಾನರವೀರರಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ತಾನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದ ಸೀತಾಪಹರಣದ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದನು-

ನಾನು ಮತ್ತು ಜಟಾಯು ಅಣ್ಣ ತಮ್ಮಂದಿರು.ನಾವು ಏರು ಯೌವನದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಮಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿ ಬರುವ ಹುಚ್ಚು ಸಾಹಸದ ಮನವಾಯಿತು.ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ರವಿಯತ್ತ ಹಾರತೊಡಗಿದೆವು.ನಾನು ಮೇಲೆ.ನನ್ನ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಯಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ.ರವಿಯ ಸನಿಹ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಶಾಖ ತಾಳಲಾರದೆ ನಿತ್ರಾಣದಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ನಾನು ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದವು.ರವಿಯ ಶಾಖದಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳು ಸುಟ್ಟು ಹೋದವು.ತಮ್ಮನು ನನ್ನ ನೆರಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.ನಾವು ನಿಶಾಕರರೆಂಬ ಮಹಾನ್ ತಪಸ್ವಿಗಳ ಆಶ್ರಮದ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದೆವು.ಸುಟ್ಟು ಹೋದ ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಪಡೆಯಲು,ಮೈಯ ಹುಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಗುಣಪಡಿಸಲು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಶರಣಾದೆವು.ಆಗ ಆ ದಿವ್ಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳು ಮುಂದೊಂದು ದಿನ ರಾವಣನು ಕದ್ದೊಯ್ದ ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ರಾಮನು ಮರಳಿ ಪಡೆಯುವಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹಾಯದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ.ಅವನ ದೂತರು ಬರುವ ತನಕ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಇರು.ಅವರು ಬಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹಾಯವು ಅವರಿಗೆ ದೊರೆತ ಬಳಿಕ ನೀನು ಮೊದಲಿನಂತಾಗುವೆ ಎಂದರು.ಜಟಾಯುವು ಅವನ ದಾರಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಅತ್ತ ಹೋದನು.ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಮಗ ಸುಪಾರ್ಶ್ವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದೇ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ.ಅವರ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಮನ್ನಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ.ನೀವು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರಿ.ಸೀತೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರುವ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತೇನೆ -ಎಂದನು.

ಕಪಿವೀರರು ಮೈಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಿವಿಯಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಂಪಾತಿಯ ಮುಂದಿನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ  ಕಾದು ಕುಳಿತರು.

Sampaathi came to know about the story of Rama by the monkeys and lamented when he heard about his younger brother Jataayu. Sampaathi asked the monkeys to take him near the sea. The monkeys did as he said and there he bathed and performed funeral rites of Jataayu.  After that he came to his place and began narrating his story and the story that he knew about the abduction of Seetha ,to the monkeys who were sitting around him curiously. 

Jataayu and Sampaathi were siblings. When they were young they had a dangerous wish to touch the sun. So one day both of them started flying towards the sun. Sampaathi was above. And Jataayu was flying under the wings of his elder brother. As they flew near the sun, both of them fainted and fell on the earth being unable to bear the heat of the sun. Sampaathi lost his wings since his wings were burnt by the heat of the sun. But Jataayu was fine and safe since he was under the shadow of Sampaathi. They had fallen near the hermitage of the great ascetic named Nishaakara. Both the brothers went to the ascetic to get the wings of Sampaathi back and to get their wounds healed. During the time, the ascetic who had the divine sight said to Sampaathi that there would be need of his help to bring Seetha back to Rama from Raavana who would abduct Seetha in the future. And told him to be the same until the messengers of Rama arrived and he would get his former appearance only after the messengers get his help. He told the monkeys that Jataayu had flown to the other way and Sampaathi along with his son Supaarshwa was residing in the same hill where the monkeys had slept. Sampaathi said that he had been waiting for them as per the words of Nishaakara and finally they arrived. Then he said to the monkeys that he would share the information that he knew about Seetha. 

The monkeys sat with curiosity. They were eagerly waiting to listen what Sampaathi would say.
