ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೮೯

ಪೂರ್ವ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತರ ದಿಕ್ಕುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀತಾನ್ವೇಷಣೆಗೆ ಹೋದ ಕಪಿ ವೀರರು ಅಸಫಲರಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನ ಅನುಮತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಿಗೆ ತೆರಳಿದರು.ಇನ್ನುಳಿದವರು ದಕ್ಷಿಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದವರು.ಅಂಗದನ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಹನುಮ ಜಾಂಬವಂತ ತಾರಾದಿಗಳ ಬಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದವರೂ ಎಲ್ಲೆಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಡುಕಿದರು.ಸೀತೆಯ ಸುಳಿವು ಸಿಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.ಸ್ವಯಂಪ್ರಭೆಯು ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಗುಹೆಯೆಂಬ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಲೋಕದ ಒಳಹೊಕ್ಕು ಹೊರಬರುವ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಸುಗ್ರೀವನು ನೀಡಿದ ಗಡುವು ಅದಾಗಲೇ ಕಳೆದಿತ್ತು! ಅವನು ನೀಡಿದ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಶಿಕ್ಷಾರ್ಹರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.ತಾರನು ಸ್ವಯಂಪ್ರಭೆಯ ಗುಹೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಯೋಣವೆಂದಾಗ ಹನುಮನು ಸುಗ್ರೀವನ ಕುರಿತು ಭರವಸೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಮಾಡಿ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಹುಡುಕುವನೆಂದನು.ಆದರೆ ಅಂಗದನು ಸುಗ್ರೀವನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತನಗಿರುವ ಸಂದೇಹಗಳನ್ನು ಆಧಾರಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣದಂಡನೆಗೊಳಪಟ್ಟು ಸಾಯುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಪವೇಶವೇ ಸೂಕ್ತವೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿನು.ಅವನ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಮತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ ಕಪಿಗಳು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಗೆ ಮುಖಮಾಡಿ ದರ್ಭೆಯನ್ನು ಹರಡಿ ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗಿದರು. ಮಲಗಿದ್ದವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯ ತನಕ ನಡೆದ ಘಟನಾವಳಿ-

ರಾಮನ ವನವಾಸ

ದಶರಥನು ಮರಣ

ಖರಾದಿ ರಾಕ್ಷಸರ ವಧೆ

ರಾವಣನಿಂದ ಜಟಾಯುವಿನ ಸಂಹಾರ

ಸೀತಾಪಹರಣ

ವಾಲಿವಧೆ

ರಾಮನ ಕೋಪ

( ರಾಮಾಯಣದಲ್ಲಿಈ ತನಕ ನಡೆದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗಳು.ಇದು ಕತೆಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸುವ ಒಂದು ವಿಧಾನ.ರಾಮಾಯಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ಸಿಂಹಾವಲೋಕನ ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತದೆ)ಯ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.

ಎಷ್ಟೋಸಲ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಮುಗಿಯಿತು ಎನ್ನುವಾಗಲೇ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುವುದಿದೆ.ಇಲ್ಲೂ ಅದೇ ಆಯಿತು.ಬದುಕಿನಾಸೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಮಲಗಿದ ಕಪಿವೀರರನ್ನು ಬದುಕಿಸಲೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಜಟಾಯುವಿನ ಅಣ್ಣ ಸಂಪಾತಿಯು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದನು.ಅವನು ಬಂದಿದ್ದು ತನಗೆ ಸುಲಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಹಾರ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಸಂತಸದಿಂದ! ಅದನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾತಿಯು 'ಇದು ನನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಾರ್ಜಿತ ಕರ್ಮಫಲವೆಂದು' ಸಂತಸದಿಂದ ಗಟ್ಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಲು ಅಂಗದನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಗಾಬರಿಗೊಂಡನು.ಸಂಪಾತಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಜಟಾಯುವಿನ ನೆನಪಾಗಿ ಆ ತನಕದ ರಾಮನ ಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಹನುಮನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನ ತ್ಯಾಗವನ್ನು  ಕೊಂಡಾಡಿದನು.

ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಸಂಪಾತಿಯ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಬದಲಾಯಿತು.ತಮ್ಮನ ಹೆಸರು; ಅವನ ಬಲಿದಾನದ ವಿಷಯ ಕೇಳಿ ಇಡೀ ವಿವರವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿದನು.ಕಪಿಗಳು ಪ್ರಾಯೋಪವೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಮಲಗಿದ ಜಾಗ ಸಂಪಾತಿಯು ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಪರ್ವತದ ತಪ್ಪಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.ವೃದ್ಧ ಸಂಪಾತಿಯು ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಹಾರಲಾರದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.ಅವನ ಕೋರಿಕೆಯಂತೆ ಅಂಗದನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಗಿರಿಯಿಂದ ಕೆಳಗಿಳಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆತಂದನು.

The monkey soldiers who had gone in search of Seetha in the west, the east ,and the north directions returned being failed and went back to their regions by taking the permission of Sugreeva . The other remaining soldiers had gone in the direction of South. Those who had gone under the supervision of Hanuman, Jaambavantha, Taara and others searched everywhere. But they did not get even the slightest intimation about Seetha. The time limit which Sugreeva had given, passed by the time they entered and existed the amazing cave world of the great ascetic Swayamprabha. The monkey soldiers who failed to reach before the time Sugreeva had given would be subjected to his punishment as per his warning !. Taara who was scared of Sugreeva suggested that they all would stay in the cave of Swayamprabha. But Hanuman consoled him and spoke positive words of assurance about Sugreeva. And boosted everyone up to continue their quest further more. But Angada explained his fear and doubt about Sugreeva with proofs and decided to kill themselves by fasting unto death than getting killed by Sugreeva. The other monkeys too agreed with Angada and all slept on the Darbhe grass facing the South direction. The monkey soldiers who laid down , began to talk and natrate about the incidents that happened so far - 

The exile of Rama.

The death of Dasharatha. 

The slaying of Khara and other monsters. 

The death of Jataayu by Raavana. 

The abduction of Seetha. 

The death of Vaali.

The anger of Rama.

( These are the incidents that happened in Raamayana so far. This is the method of reminding the stories to the readers. This kind of flashback narrations are often seen in Raamayana here and there. )

Most of the times ,things begin when we think everything has ended. The same happened even here . Sampaathi ,the elder brother of Jataayu came to the place where the monkeys had slept. He came there as if a saviour of the monkeys who had slept without the hopes of survival.  Sampaathi had come there with a happiness of getting food to eat when he saw monkeys. He stated loudly and happily that it was the result of his good deed , done in the previous birth. By hearing Sampaathi, Angada woke up being scared. When Angada saw Sampaathi, he reminded him of Jataayu and he narrated the story that happened so far to Hanuman and praised the sacrifice of Jataayu to the skies. 

The mind of Sampaathi changed after hearing the story of Jataayu. He wished to hear the entire explanation of the story after hearing the name of his younger brother and his sacrifice . The place where the monkeys had slept to perform fasting unto death was the slope of the mountain where Sampaathi was residing. The old Sampaathi was unable to fly since he had lost its wings. As per his request,  Angada brought him down and took him to his people.
