ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೭೧

ನೀ ಮಾಯೆಯೊಳಗೋ ನಿನ್ನೊಳು ಮಾಯೆಯೋ!!?

ಸುಮಾರು ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ನೆರಳಿನಂತೆ ತಮ್ಮೊಟ್ಟಿಗಿದ್ದು ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ, ಒಂದೇ ಒಂದು ಸಲವಾದರೂ ಶಂಕಾಸ್ಪದ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರದ, ಈ ಕ್ಷಣದ ವರೆಗೂ ಶತ ಪ್ರತಿಶತ ನಂಬಿದ್ದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನನ್ನು ಸಂದೇಹಿಸಿ,ಜರೆದು, ಹೀನಾಯವಾಗಿ ಬೈದು; ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಮ್ಮಿ ಅಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ಎಂದೇ ಹೇಳಬಹುದಾದ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸೀತೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ತನಕ ನೋಡದ,ಅದೂ ತಾನೊಬ್ಬಳೇ ಇರುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದ ಪರಿವ್ರಾಜಕ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನನ್ನು  ನಂಬಿ ಅತಿಥಿ ಸತ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದಳು ಎಂದರೆ ಏನೆನ್ನಬೇಕು?

.ಎಂತಹ ಸಂಕಟ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲೂ ಅತಿಥಿ ದೇವೋ ಭವ ಎನ್ನುವ ಅವಳ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಬೇಕೇ?

.ಅಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದವನನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದ ಮುಗ್ಧತೆ/ಮೂಢತೆ ಎನ್ನಬೇಕೇ?

. ಅಪರಿಚಿತನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವ ಮಾನಸಿಕತೆಗೆ ಏನನ್ನೋಣ?

. ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದ  ಸಂದೇಹದ ಅಣುವಷ್ಟಾದರೂ ಈ ಅತಿಥಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಾರದ್ದು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಊಟ ಬಡಿಸುವಷ್ಟು ತೋರಿದ ಗೌರವ ಮನೋಭಾವಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ಹೇಳಲಿ?

ಸೀತೆ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯಳೋ? ಅಸಾಮಾನ್ಯಳೋ!!?

ರಾವಣನು ಬಂದೊಡನೆ ಆಕೆಯ ಅಂದವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅಂಗಾಂಗಳ ವರ್ಣನೆ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ  ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರ ಬರವನ್ನೇ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ  ಅನ್ಯಮನಸ್ಕಳಂತಿದ್ದ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಅದು ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ! ಒಂದೊಮ್ಮೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ?ಸಂನ್ಯಾಸಿಯು ಶಾಪ ಕೊಟ್ಟಾನು ಎಂಬ ಹೆದರಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಆಕೆ ಸತ್ಕರಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೆ.

ಮುಂದೆ ರಾವಣನು ತನ್ನ ನಿಜ ಬಣ್ಣವನ್ನು ತೋರಿದಾಗ ಹೆದರದೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬಯ್ಯುವ, ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಅವಳ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಹೀಗೂ ಉಂಟೇ ಎನ್ನುವಂತಿವೆ.

ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಮಿಷಗಳನ್ನು ಅವಳು ಧಿಕ್ಕರಿಸಿದಾಗ,ಎಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೂ ಇವಳು ತನಗೆ ಬಗ್ಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಿ ರಾವಣನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರವಾಗಿ ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಅವಳು ತೀರಾ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯಂತೆ ಅಸಹಾಯಕಳಾಗಿ ರೋದಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ .

ಸ್ತ್ರೀ/ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಯಾಕೆ ಹೀಗೆ?

ನಂಬಬೇಕಾದವರನ್ನು ನಂಬದೆ,ನಂಬಬಾರದವರನ್ನು ನಂಬಿ ಮೋಸ ಹೋಗುವುದು ಅಂದೂ ಇಂದೂ ಇದ್ದೇ ಇದೆಯಲ್ಲವೇ??

Are you the manifestation of delusion or delusion is manifested in you ?

( Nee maayeyolago ,ninnolu maayeyo!!?)

Seetha who could not trust a man ,who had been with them as a shadow and who had been serving them for almost 12 years with no suspicious behavior not even a once in all those years, rebuked him ruthlessly, humiliated him, suspected his character and thrown him out who had a 100% trust on Seetha and Rama, then how could she trust a man whom she had never seen in her life before? How could she believe a Parivraajaka Brahmana and offered him hospitality who had come there when she was all alone?

• Should her nature and culture of treating the guests even in the difficult circumstances according to the great saying " Athithi devobhava" ,be appreciated?

• Was it her innocence or foolishness to trust a man who had arrived there at that time.

• What can be said to the mentality of sharing all her stories with a strange man?

• What can be said to her, who did not suspect a strange man even a little and for treating him with respect by offering hospitality when she could suspect Lakshmana who had been loyal.

Was Seetha ordinary ? Or extraordinary?

The moment Raavana saw Seetha, he was taken aback by her beauty and began describing her body. But Seetha did not pay any attention to his words since she was waiting for the arrival of Rama and Lakshmana being absent minded.  What if she had paid attention to his words? It seems as if she had offered him hospitality out of fear of being cursed by the saint. But later when Raavana presented his real face ,she faced him without being feeble and scared and the way she rebuked and warned him, truly surprises the readers. 

Raavana decided to take her forcefully when he realized that she was hard to be convinced and she expressed her defiance when she was offered benefits that she could get from Raavana.  Seetha wept and lamented helplessly as an ordinary woman when she was being abducted by Raavana. 

Why is a man or a woman like this?

 

Isn't it common that distrusting those who should be trusted and being cheated on by trusting those who should not be trusted ,now and then ?
