ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೭೦

ಚಿನ್ನದ ಜಿಂಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬಯಸಿದಾಗ ಸೀತೆಯು ಹೇಳಿದ' ಈ ನನ್ನ ಕಾಮನೆಯು ಭಯಂಕರವಾದುದೇ ಸರಿ.ಇಂತಹ ಕಾಮನೆಯು ಸಾಧ್ವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತವಲ್ಲ....' ಮಾತುಗಳು ಸೀತೆಯು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾಳೋ ಎನುವಂತಿವೆ.ಮುಂದೆ ಹಾ ಸೀತೇ,ಹಾ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ... ಎನ್ನುವ ರಾಮನ ಅಣಕು ಧ್ವನಿ ಕೇಳಿದ ಮೇಲಂತೂ ಆಕೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಆಕೆಯೇ ಆಕೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ಪುರಾವೆ ಒದಗಿಸಿದಂತಿದೆ.ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಮಂದಿ ರಕ್ಕಸರನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೂವರೆ ಮುಹೂರ್ತ ಕಾಲ ಗುಹೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೇ ಇರುವಾಗ ಬಾರದ ಸಂದೇಹ ಈಗ ಹೇಗೆ ಬಂತು?ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಣ್ಣನ ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗು ಎಂದಾಗ ಅವನು- ಅಣ್ಣನು ಅಜೇಯ.ಯಾರೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಏನೂ ಮಾಡಲಾರರು.ಅಣ್ಣನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಸ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.ಅವನು ಬರುವ ತನಕ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿರಿಸಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವ ಹೊಣೆ ನನ್ನದು- ಎಂದಾಗ ಸೀತೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಕರ್ಣ ಕಠೋರ ಮಾತುಗಳು-

.ನೀನು ನಿಮ್ಮಣ್ಣನಿಗೆ ಮಿತ್ರ ರೂಪದ ಶತ್ರು.ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನಗೆ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವಿಲ್ಲ

. ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲಿನ ಮೋಹದಿಂದಾಗಿ ರಾಮನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ

.ನಡತೆಗೆಟ್ಟವನೇ,ಕ್ರೂರಿಯೇ,

ಕುಲಾಧಮನೇ, ನೀನು ದುಷ್ಟನು.

. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಲಾಗಿಯೇ ರಾಮನ  ಸಂಗಡ ಕಾಡಿಗೆ ಬಂದೆ.ಅಥವಾ ಭರತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಬಹುದು

.ನಾನು ಗೋದಾವರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ಸಾಯುತ್ತೇನೆ,ನೇಣು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆಯೇ ವಿನಾ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಕಾಲಿಂದಲೂ ಮುಟ್ಟಲಾರೆ...

ಇವು ಸೀತೆಯ ಆ ಕ್ಷಣದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ಕಾಣಿಸಿದರೆ

 ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನ ಮಾತುಗಳು-

.ತಾಯೇ! ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ದೇವತೆಯ ಸಮಾನಳಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಈ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಉತ್ತರವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ

.ನೀನಾಡಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರ ಬಾಯಿಯಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಮಾತುಗಳು.ಇವು ಸೋದರರ ನಡುವೆ ಒಡಕನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತವೆ

.ಗುರುವಿನ ಆಜ್ಞಾಧಾರಕನಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಶಂಕಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವೆಯಲ್ಲಾ! ನಿನಗೆ ಧಿಕ್ಕಾರವಿರಲಿ.ಇಂತಹ ಆಡಬಾರದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿ ನೀನೂ ವಿನಾಶ ಹೊಂದುವೆ

.ವರಾನನೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಮಂಗಳವಾಗಲಿ.ವನದೇವತೆಗಳು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಿ...

ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನ ಅಸಹಾಯಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು.

 ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಲಾರದ ಮನದಿಂದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ತೊರೆದು ರಾಮನತ್ತ ತೆರಳಿದನು.

ನಾವು ಕೇಳಿದ ಕತೆಯಂತೆ 'ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರೇಖೆ'  ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ!

When Seetha desired to possess the golden deer she opined that the desire of hers was truly terrifying and such kinds of wishes and desires were not right for the virtuous women. These lines sound as if she was interrogating herself. More than this the words she told Lakshmana after hearing 'Haa Seetha ,Ha Lakshmana ',the mocking voice of Rama( mimicked by Maaricha),seems as if she gives proofs for herself. 

How did the doubt occur in her then, which did not occur in her when Lakshmana and she were alone in the cave for 1 and half hour during the time of confronting thousands of monsters. She told Lakshmana to go for the assistance of Rama . For which he said that his brother Rama was unconquerable and nobody could do anything to him and Rama had kept Seetha under his protection .Lakshmana firmly told her that it was his responsibility to safeguard Seetha until his brother returned. The way Seetha spoke to Lakshmana when he spoke about his responsibility of safeguarding her was too harsh and ruthless. 

The harsha words of Seetha to Lakshmana:

• Lakshmana was a foe disguised as a friend to his brother Rama .And she would not trust him.

• Lakshmana was not going to protect Rama since he had infatuation on Seetha. 

• Called him characterless, cruel, wreck and wicked.

• He had come to forest along with Rama to get Seetha into his possession. She suspected that he might have been sent by Bharatha. 

• She would either die by drowning in the river Godaavari or hanging herself but would never touch any other man even by her feet.

These words throw light on the character of Seetha at that moment. 

The words of Lakshmana:

•  He addressed her as his mother and said that he would not answer her for whatever she had told him since he considered her equivalent to the goddess. 

• He stated, the words that she had uttered were generally the words which  women would say in society. And these words would create discord between brothers. 

• He expressed his grief for being suspected by Seetha. He asked her how she could suspect him who was standing there to follow the command of the Guru. He expressed his defiance towards Seetha and cursed her that she would be annihilated since she had uttered the words which was not supposed to be said.

• He wished Seetha who had a beautiful face to be auspicious and to be protected by the goddesses of the forest. 

The above lines depict the helpless condition of Lakshmana. 

Eventually, without any option, he went towards Rama by deserting Seetha ,though he never wanted to leave her alone there.

The story that we have been listening about 'Lakshmana Rekha' ( the line drawn by Lakshmana) doesn't appear here!!.
