ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ -೬೯

ಸೀತೆಯ ವಿಧಿಯೋ!,

ರಾಮನ ವಿಧಿಯೋ! 

ಅಲ್ಲ ಇಬ್ಬರ ದುರ್ವಿಧಿಯೋ!!? 

ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನ ಗ್ರಾಚಾರ(ಗ್ರಹಚಾರ)ವೋ!!

ರಾವಣ- ಮಾರೀಚರು ರಾಮಾಶ್ರಮದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.ಮಾರೀಚ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಅಪೂರ್ವ ಜಿಂಕೆಯ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ತಾಳಿದನು.ತುಂಬಾ ಹೊತ್ತು ಆಶ್ರಮದ ಆಸುಪಾಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸುತ್ತಾಡಿದ,ಸುಳಿದಾಡಿದ,ಕುಣಿದಾಡಿದ,ನೆಗೆದಾಡಿದ..‌ಎಳೆಗರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮೆದ್ದನು.ಕಾಡಿನ ಜಿಂಕೆಗಳು ಈ ಹೊಸ ಜಿಂಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದು ಮೂಸಿದೊಡನೆಯೇ ಅದರ ನಿಜಬಣ್ಣ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಿ ಓಡಿ ಹೋದವು.

ಹೂ ಕೊಯ್ಯಲು ಬಂದ ಸೀತೆಯ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ "ಸುವರ್ಣಮಯವಾದ ಕೂದಲುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ,

ಇಂದ್ರನೀಲಮಣಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನವಾದ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ,

ಬಾಲಸೂರ್ಯನ ಬಣ್ಣದಿಂದಲೂ, 

ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳ ಸಾಲುಗಳಂತಿರುವ ಚುಕ್ಕೆಗಳ ಹೊಳಪುಗಳಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದ"

 ಮುದ್ದು ಜಿಂಕೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಬಿತ್ತು.ಕಣ್ಮನಗಳನ್ನು ಸೆಳೆಯಿತು.ಉಳಿದಾದರೂ ಅಳಿದಾದರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ತನ್ನದಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಹೆಬ್ಬಯಕೆಯೂ ಸೀತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಿತು, 

ಮೂಡಿ ಬಲವಾಯಿತು.

ರಾಮಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರನ್ನು ಕೂಗಿ ಕರೆದಳು.ಜಿಂಕೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿದಳು.ಬೇಕೆಂದಳು.(ಕಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀತೆಯ ಮೊದಲ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊನೆಯ ಕೋರಿಕೆ). ಜೀವಸಹಿತ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದರೆ ಸಾಕಿ ಸಲಹುವ; ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದರ ಮೃದು ಚರ್ಮದ ಹಾಸಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಖಾಸೀನರಾಗುವ..

ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿಯ ವರೆಗೆ ಸೀತೆಯ ಜಿಂಕೆಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಮೋಹ ಬೆಳೆಯಿತು.ಅರಣ್ಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು ನೋಡಿದ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಇದು ಅಸಲಿಯಲ್ಲ, ಪ್ರಾಯಶಃ ಮಾರೀಚನೇ ವಂಚಿಸಲು ಈ ವೇಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆಂಬ ಅನುಮಾನವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದನು.

ಆದರೆ ರಾಮನು ಸೀತೆಯ ಕೋರಿಕೆಗೆ ತಲೆದೂಗಿ,ಛದ್ಮವೇಷದ ಅಸುರನಾದರೆ ಕೊಂದಂತಾಯಿತು,ನಿಜ ಜಿಂಕೆಯಾದರೆ ಹಿಡಿದು ಸಲಹಿದಂತಾಯಿತು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಜಿಂಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವ ತೀರ್ಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು.ಅಪೂರ್ವವಾದ ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವುದು ರಾಜನ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳಲ್ಲೊಂದು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಪಡಿಸಿದನು.ಇದೇ ತರ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಲು ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕಿ ಕುಳಿತ ರಾವಣನ ಇರುವಿಕೆ ತಿಳಿಯದಾದರು.

ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿರಲು ಹೇಳಿ ರಾಮನು ಜಿಂಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯಲು ಹೋದನು.ಮುಂದೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಜಿಂಕೆ.ಹಿಂದೆ ಹಿಂದೆ ರಾಮ.ಸೆರೆ ಹಿಡಿಯುವುದು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯವೆಂದರಿತ ರಾಮನು ಬಾಣಪ್ರಯೋಗಿಸಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದನು.ಜಿಂಕೆಯ ವೇಷದ ಮಾರೀಚನು ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ಸೀತಾಪಹರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ದೂರ ಹೋದ ಬಳಿಕ ರಾಮನ ಬಾಣದ ಗುರಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದನು.ತುತ್ತಾದನು.ನಾಟಕದ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗವಾದ" ಹಾ ಸೀತೇ,ಹಾ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ.." ಎಂದು ದಯನೀಯವಾಗಿ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ರಾಮನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಸಾಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಧನ್ಯತೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಬಿಟ್ಟನು.

 Was that the fate of Seetha ?

 Was that the fate of Rama ?

 Or the fate of both of them!!?

 Or the ill - fate or misfortune of

  Lakshmana!!!?

Both Raavana and Maaricha came near the hermitage of Rama. Maaricha disguised himself as a mesmerizing uncommon deer. He ( deer)wandered, played ,sprung, moved around the hermitage and fed on tender bermuda grass ( Garike). The other deers of the forest were surprised to see the new deer in the forest. When they came near and smelt the deer, the deers could make out the reality of the new deer and they ran being scared.

Seetha's eyes caught hold of the beautiful deer when she came to pluck the flowers. She was enchanted by the beautiful deer which had the golden hair, the horns which were equivalent to the precious sapphire stone of Indra. The color of the sun and glittering dots on its body resembled the array of the stars. 

The uncommon deer attracted her very much. The strong desire of possessing the deer alive or dead  manifested in Seetha. The desire deep rooted in her. She called out Rama and Lakshmana loudly; showed them the deer and expressed her wish to possess that. (The first and last desire and request of Seetha in the forest). She was so infatuated by the deer that she expressed her wish to nurture the deer if they would catch that alive and if they would get the deer dead then she desired to rest happily on its soft skin. But Lakshmana, who was wise and had the knowledge about forests, made out that the deer was not original, the moment he saw the deer. He predicted and expressed his suspicion that probably it could be Maaricha who was wandering in the disguise of a deer to trick them.

But Rama did not want to disappoint Seetha so he agreed to fulfill the wish of Seetha. Rama said that if it was the disguised monster then he would be killed and if it was a real deer then it would be nurtured.  Finally Rama made the decision of catching the deer for Seetha. He made it clear that ,possessing  uncommon things was one of the rights of the king. The three were engrossed in the discussion of the deer so much that they failed to make out the existence of Raavana there who was waiting for an opportunity to possess Seetha.

Rama went to catch the dear by commanding Lakshmana to safeguard Seetha. The deer was moving further and further while Rama was following that . Rama decided to experiment the arrow when he realized that it was hard to captivate the deer. Maaricha ( the deer) went too far so that it would help Raavana to abduct Seetha.  After running so far the deer or Maaricha got hit by the arrow of Rama. He took his last breath by calling out the names of Seetha and Lakshmana and cried pathetically as " Haa Seetha, Haa Lakshmana..."which was a part of the drama .He died with the reverence that he got slayed by Rama.
