ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿ ನೋಟ-೬

ಸರ್ವ ದೇವತೆಗಳೂ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ತೃಪ್ತಿಗೊಂಡು ದಶರಥನನ್ನು ಹರಸಿ ಹೋಗುವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಶ್ವಮೇಧ ಯಾಗವು ನಡೆಯಿತು.ದಶರಥನ ಪಾಪಗಳ ನಾಶವೂ ಆಯಿತು.ಪುತ್ರಕಾಮಿಯಾದ ದಶರಥನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯಂತೆ ಋಷ್ಯಶೃಂಗ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳು ದಶರಥನಿಂದ ಪುತ್ರ ಕಾಮೇಷ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ನಡೆಸತೊಡಗಿದರು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವತಃ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ಅಗೋಚರನಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು.ಯಜ್ಞದ ಹವಿಸ್ಸನ್ನು ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ಬಂದವರು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅಲ್ಲೇ ನಿಂತರು.ಬಳಿಕ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನಲ್ಲಿ  - ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ದೇವ,ನೀನಿತ್ತ 'ಗಂಧರ್ವ- ಯಕ್ಷ-ದೇವ- ರಾಕ್ಷಸರುಗಳಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಸಾವಿಲ್ಲ' ಎಂಬ ವರದಿಂದ ಕೊಬ್ಬಿದ ರಾವಣ ಇಂದು ನಮಗೂ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಲೋಕಗಳಿಗೂ ಕಂಟಕನಾಗಿ ಮೆರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಅವನ ವಧೆಗಿರುವ ಉಪಾಯವೊಂದನ್ನು ನಿರೂಪಿಸು- ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದರು.ಆಗ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ದೇವತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ- ನೀವೇನೂ ಚಿಂತಿಸಬೇಡಿ.ವರ ಬೇಡುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಮಾನವರ ಮೇಲಿನ ಅಸಡ್ಡೆಯಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದನು.ಇದೀಗ ಅವರ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ರಾವಣ ವಧೆಯಾಗಬೇಕಿದೆ- ಎಂದನು.ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾವಿಷ್ಣುವೂ ಯಜ್ಞಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲೇ ಕುಳಿತನು.ಆಗ ದೇವತೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಮಹಾವಿಷ್ಣುವಲ್ಲಿ- ದೇವದೇವ, ಲೋಕಕಲ್ಯಾಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸದಾ ಇರುವ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಲೋಕಕಂಟಕನಾದ ರಾವಣನಿಂದ ಕಾಪಾಡು.ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನೀನು ದಶರಥನ ಮೂವರು ಪತ್ನಿಯರಾದ ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆ ಕೈಕೇಯಿ ಸುಮಿತ್ರೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಮಂದಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಗಿ ಜನಿಸಿ ರಾವಣಾದಿ ಲೋಕಕಂಟಕರನ್ನು ವಧಿಸಿ ಲೋಕಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಮಾಡು- ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದರು.ಅವರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯಿಂದ ಸಂಪ್ರೀತನಾದ ಮಹಾವಿಷ್ಣುವು ಹಾಗೇ ಆಗಲಿ, ನೀವಿನ್ನು ನಿಶ್ಚಿಂತರಾಗಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಅಭಯವಿತ್ತನು.ಮಹಾವಿಷ್ಣವು ತಾನೇ ಸ್ವತಃ ದಶರಥನ ಮಗಂದಿರಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಲು ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿದನು.ಯಜ್ಞದ ಪೂರ್ಣಾಹುತಿಯೂ ಆಯಿತು.

The Ashwamedha yaga was performed in such a way that all the Gods ,angels and all the people who gathered there were happily satisfied and blessed Dhasharatha. The sins of Dhasharatha were also absolved by Ashwamedha yaga. After this ,as per the wish of Dhasharatha to get male children ,he performed 'PutraKaameshti' as guided by Rushya Shrunga Maharshi. The Lord Brahma witnessed the ceremony by being invisible to others (except the gods). When the gods were about to receive the Yajna Havissu ( the food given to gods)one by one, noticed the presence of Lord Brahma . They all went together and expressed their fear to Lord Brahma about the demon king Ravana. They said that the atrocity of Ravana had crossed all the boundaries since he had received the boon from Lord Brahma. Ravana had a wish that he would not be killed by Gandharva, Yaksha, Deva and Monsters. While making a wish he did not include human beings since he was least bothered about them. Lord Brahma granted him what he had asked for. Because of this he filled himself with arrogance and had no fear of anyone. So Ravana was a threat to everyone including the gods.

Fearing of this,the Gods prayed Lord Brahma to find a way to destroy Ravana.

Lord Brahma understood everything and gave assurance to the Gods that he would be defeated by humans since he did not include them while asking for a boon. In the mean while Lord Vishnu presented himself in the 'Yajna Shaale' and be seated beside Lord Brahma. His arrival pleased all the Gods. The gods who had been serving  Vishnu in the welfare of the world expected him to  save them from Ravana. They all prayed Vishnu to destroy Ravana through the offsprings of Dhasharatha. In other words they requested Vishnu to take birth as four children from the 3 wives of Dhasharatha namely Kausalya ,Kaikeyee and Sumitra to put an end to the atrocity of Ravana and for the welfare of the world. 

Lord Vishnu being pleased by their request and prayer ,agreed for what they wished .

Thus Lord Vishnu decided to born as the children of the king Dhasharatha.
