 ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯನಮ:

ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೩೮

ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ-

ಒಂದೊಮ್ಮೆ ದಶರಥನು ಕಾಮಾಸಕ್ತನಾಗಿ ಕೈಕೇಯಿಯಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗದಿರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ ಏನಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು?

 ಅರಮನೆಯತ್ತ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದ ದಶರಥನು ರಾಮನನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿ ಅತಿಯಾದ ನೋವಿನಿಂದ ಎಚ್ಚರ ತಪ್ಪಿ ಬಿದ್ದನು.ಕೈಕೇಯಿಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿ ಬರಗೊಡದೆ ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದ ಅವಳ ಅಂತ: ಪುರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.

ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ವನವಾಸ.

ದಶರಥನಿಗೆ ಶೋಕವಾಸ.

ತುಂಬಾ ದುಃಖಿತಳಾದ ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಸುಮಿತ್ರೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಪಡಿಸಿದಳು.ಅವಳು ರಾಮನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಅವನು-

ಸೂರ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯ

ಅಗ್ನಿಗೆ ಅಗ್ನಿ

ಈಶ್ವರನಿಗೆ ಮಹೇಶ್ವರ

ಶ್ರೀದೇವಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೀಪ್ರದ

ಕೀರ್ತಿಗೆ ಕೀರ್ತಿಪ್ರದ

ಕ್ಷಮೆಗೂ ಕ್ಷಮೆಯಾದವನು

ದೇವತೆಗಳ ದೇವತೆ

ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ವಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ-

ಇಂತಹ ರಾಮ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಬಳಿಕ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಾಭಿಷಿಕ್ತನಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ಈಡೇರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನಗೊಂಡಳು.

ಅತ್ತ ರಾಮನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಯೋಧ್ಯೆಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಲು ಹೇಳಿದ ವೃದ್ಧ ತಪಸ್ವೀ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರನ್ನು ಸಂತೈಸಿ ಅವರಿಂದ ಬೀಳ್ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಯೋಧ್ಯೆಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ದಶರಥ-ಭರತರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಕಾಣಲು ಹೇಳಿದನು.ಸಂಜೆ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಲು ಒಪ್ಪದ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ತಮಸಾ ನದೀ ತೀರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ತಂಗಿದರು.

 ಮರುದಿನ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮೀ ಮುಹೂರ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು 'ನಾವು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಯುವ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮರದಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಲಗುವಂತಾಗಬಾರದು.ರಾಜನು ತನ್ನ ಸುಖವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಬೇಕು; ದುಃಖವನ್ನು ಹಂಚಬಾರದು ತಾನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಅನುಭವಿಸಬೇಕು' ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾ ಸುಮಂತ್ರನಿಗೆ ರಥವನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಲು ಹೇಳಿ ತಮಸಾ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿದರು.

There is a question:

What might have happened if Dhasharatha had not gone to Kaikeyee to satisfy his physical pleasure?

Dhasharatha returned to the palace with a painful heart and unable to stay away from Rama. He fell unconscious out of grief . But he did not allow Kaikeyee to come near him and asked Kausalya to come for help and went to her harem.

Exile for Rama

Grief for Dhasharatha. 

Sumitra consoled Kausalya who was in a deep sorrow.  She spoke about Rama and his devine attributes, which are as follows...

• "Rama is Sun for Sun".

• Agni for Agni.

• Maheshwar for Eeshwar.

• Shreepada for Shreedevi.

• Keerthipada for Keerthi.

• He had become the forbearance for the forbearance. 

• God of the gods.

• Superior among all the animals. 

Kausalya was consoled when she was told that  Rama who had all the good attributes would return to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile and accomplish their wishes by ascending the throne. 

On the other hand, Rama consoled the old ascent Brahmanas and sent them back to Ayodhya who requested Rama to return to Ayodhya. Later he told his subjects who had been following him to go back to Ayodhya and to treat Dhasharatha and Bharatha with all love. Rama along with his subjects reached the shore of the river Thamasa in the evening. They had to stay near the shore of Thamasa as it was getting dark. The following day ,Rama woke up in the Brahmi muhoortha and told Sumantra that they had to move on and his subjects should not face a situation where they had to sleep under a tree again because of him. He stated that a king should distribute happiness and peace to his subjects not the sorrow or pain and pain must be endured by the king only. Rama commanded to keep the chariot ready. Rama ,Seetha and Lakshmana continued their journey towards Dandakaaranya and crossed the river Thamasa.
