ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೧೩

ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರರು ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರೊಡನೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಾಶ್ರಮವನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿದರು.ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಮಹಾವಿಷ್ಣುವು ವಾಮನನಾಗಿ ತಪಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದನು.ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಇದು ವಾಮನಾಶ್ರಮ.ಮಹಾನ್ ತಪಸ್ವಿ ಕಾಶ್ಯಪನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುದರಿಂದ ಇದು ಸಿದ್ಧಾಶ್ರಮವಾಯಿತು.(ಮಹಾನ್ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿ ಬಲಿ ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿಯು ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಸ್ವರ್ಗವನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.ಅವನನ್ನು ಮಣಿಸಲು ಮಹಾವಿಷ್ಣುವು ವಾಮನನಾಗಬೇಕಾಯಿತು.ಅವನು  ಪುತ್ರಾಕಾಂಕ್ಷಿಗಳಾದ ಕಶ್ಯಪ -ಅದಿತಿಯರಿಗೆ ಮಗನಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ದನು.ವಾಮನನಾದನು.ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯಂತೆ ಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಪಾತಾಳಕ್ಕೆ ತಳ್ಳಿ ಇಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಸ್ವರ್ಗದ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

ಬಳಿಕ ವಾಮನನು ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ವಾಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.)

ನಾನೂ ಇಲ್ಲೇ ವಾಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ಮುಂದಿನ ಯಜ್ಞವು ಇಲ್ಲೇ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರರು ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಏಳು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲದ ಮಹಾನ್ ಯಜ್ಞಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರರು ದೀಕ್ಷಾಬದ್ಧರಾದರು.ಋಷಿಗಳ ಕೋರಿಕೆಯಂತೆ ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಆರು ರಾತ್ರಿಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಯಜ್ಞ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಬದ್ಧರಾದರು.ಐದು ಇರಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯಿಲ್ಲ.ಆರನೇ ಇರುಳು ಯಜ್ಞ ಭಂಜಕ ರಕ್ಕಸರಾದ ಸುಬಾಹು ಮಾರೀಚರು ಯಜ್ಞ ವೇದಿಕೆಯತ್ತ ರಕ್ತ ಮಾಂಸಗಳನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಧಾವಿಸಿದರು.ಮೊದಲೇ ಯುದ್ಧ ಸನ್ನದ್ಧರಾಗಿದ್ದ ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರು ಸಮರ್ಥವಾಗಿಯೇ ಅವರನ್ನು ತಡೆದರು ಹಿಮ್ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಸಿದರು.ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನು ಮಾನವಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಾರೀಚನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಬೀಳಿಸಿದನು.ಆಗ್ನೇಯಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಸುಬಾಹುವನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಕೆಡಹಿದನು.ಇವರಿಬ್ಬರೇ ಉಳಿದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಉಳಿದ ರಕ್ಕಸರ ಪಾಡು ಹೇಳಬೇಕೇ?

ಯಜ್ಞ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಸಂಪನ್ನಗೊಂಡಿತು.ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರರು ಸುಪ್ರಸನ್ನರಾದರು.

ಮೇಲ್ನೋಟಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರು ಬಂದ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಈಡೇರಿತು.ಆದರೆ....

Vishwamitra reached 'Siddhaashrama' along with Rama and Lakshmana. Vishwamitra narrated them a story behind the name of the hertmitage. Earlier it was known as Vamanashrama since Vishnu was enlightened by the spiritual powers in the Avatar of  Vamana in the same hermitage. Later it was called as 'Siddhaashrama' as the great ascetic( Thapaswi) Kaashyapa was enlightened by the spiritual powers in the same hermitage .

The mighty Bali Chakravarthy defeated Indra in the battle and confiscated the heaven. To defeat Bali, the Lord Vishnu had to take the Avatar of Vamana. So he was born as Vamana to the couple Kashyapa and Aditi who were in the expectation of a male child. As per the request of the Gods, Vamana(Vishnu) defeated Bali by pushing him down to the Inferno (paathaala)with the force of his foot and crowned the god Indra the king of the heaven again. Since then Vamana recided in the same hermitage .(this is the story behind the hermitage which was known as Vaamanashrama).

He reverted and said to Rama and Lakshmana ,that was the place where he resided too and the sacrificial ritual (Yajna) was also going to be performed in the same hermitage. 

Finally everything had been arranged for the yajna. Vishwamitra performed his spiritual rites before the Yajna had begun and asked Rama and Lakshmana to do the same and to be prepared. They did not face any amiss for five nights .But on the 6th day of the Yajna the two hideous monsters Subaahu and Maaricha rushed towards the place where the yajna was being performed. They spilled and poured the flesh and blood to pollute the ritual. But Rama and Lakshmana was not unprepared. They faced the two Monsters audaciously and made them retreat. ShriRama instead of slaying Maaricha threw him into the ocean with his arrow through Maanavastra. But he slayed Subaahu through Aagneyastra. And killing other monsters who came with these two was not an impossible task for Rama and Lakshmana.

Eventually the ritual completed without any distractions. Vishwamitra was rejoiced by the successful completion of the Yajna.
