 ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯನಮ:

ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿ ನೋಟ-೧೧

ಗಂಗಾ ಮಾತೆಯ ದರ್ಶನ- ನಮನಗಳ ಬಳಿಕ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರರು ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ ರೊಂದಿಗೆ ದಟ್ಟ ಭೀಕರವಾದ ಕಾಡನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದರು.ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರರನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ರಾಮ;ರಾಮನನ್ನುಸರಿಸಿ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ ಹೀಗೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರರು ಇದು ತಾಟಕಾವನ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅದರ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು-

ತಾಟಕಿ ಒಬ್ಬಳು ಯಕ್ಷಕನ್ಯೆ.ಸುಂದನೆಂಬ ರಕ್ಕಸನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾದಳು.ಇವರ ಮಗ ಮಾರೀಚ. ಅವರವರ ಕ್ರೂರ ಸ್ವಭಾವಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಋಷಿಗಳನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಿತರ ಜೀವಜಂತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸುತ್ತಾ ನಾಶಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ.ನಂದನವನದಂತಿದ್ದ ಈ ವನ ಇಂದು ಇವರಿಂದಾಗಿ ನರಕದಂತಿದೆ.ದುಷ್ಟಚಾರಿಣಿಯಾದ ತಾಟಕಿ ಇಲ್ಲೇ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡ್ಡಗಟ್ಟಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದಾಳೆ- ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾ, ಅವಳನ್ನು ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೆಂದು ನೋಡದೆ ವಧಿಸು ಎಂದು ರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಆದೇಶಿಸಿದರು.

ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಸಾವಿರ ಆನೆಗಳ ಬಲವುಳ್ಳ ವಿಕಾರ ರೂಪದ ತಾಟಕಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಳು.ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರ ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಳ ಝೇಂಕಾರ ಕೇಳಿ ಕೋಪೋದ್ರಿಕ್ತಳಾದ ಅವಳು ಇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳ ಮಳೆಗರೆದಳು.ಮಾಯಾಯುದ್ಧವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದಳು.ವಿವಿಧ ರೂಪಗಳನ್ನು ತಾಳಿ ಭ್ರಮೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿದಳು.ಕೊನೆಕೊನೆಗೆ ರಾಮನ ಬಾಣದೇಟುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹಿಸಲಾಗದೆ ಮಾಯಾಯುದ್ಧವನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡತೊಡಗಿದಳು.ಮೊದಮೊದಲು ರಾಮ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೆಂಬ ದಾಕ್ಷಿಣ್ಯದಿಂದ ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.ಆದರೆ ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಸಹಿಸಲಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಾಗ ತಾನು ಕಲಿತ ಶಬ್ದವೇಧಿ ಬಾಣಪ್ರಯೋಗದ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದನು.ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರರೂ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮುನಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಹರ್ಷಿತರಾಗಿ ರಾಮ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದರು.ತಾಟಕಾವನ ಮತ್ತೆ ನಂದನವನದಂತಾಗ ತೊಡಗಿತು.

ರಾಮಬಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲ ಬಲಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ- ದುಷ್ಟ ತಾಟಕಿ!

ಕಲ್ಲೆಸತದ ಮೂಲಕ ದಾಳಿಗೈಯುವುದು ಅಂದೂ ಇತ್ತು ಇಂದೂ ಇದೆ.ಇದು ದುಷ್ಟರ ಒಂದು ದಾಳಿ(ಕು)ತಂತ್ರ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ?

After worshipping and taking the blessings of the river Ganga, Vishwamitra accompanied by Rama and Lakshmana entered the dense forest. Rama shadowed Vishwamitra and Lakshmana shadowed his brother Rama, walked into the forest. While walking in the dense forest  Vishwamitra recounted a story about the forest which they had entered into. The forest was called 'Tataka Vana'. There was a yaksha woman known Tataki. She was the wife of a demon called Sunda and they had a son named Maaricha. They were merciless and cruels in nature .They had been torturing and slaying the sages and other living creatures of the forest. The forest which was jubilant (Nandana vana)earlier turned into hell later (Tataka Vana)because of these demons. 

Vishwamitra who could sense the presence of evil Tataki who was standing in their way at a little distance, commanded Rama to slay the cruel Tataki not even considering she was a woman.

Tataki was standing in their way. She had a fearsome appearance and her solidarity was compared to thousands of elephants. 

She was ferocious and outraged by the buzzing sounds of the bows that were being carried by Rama and Lakshmana. She attacked them by taking nebulous form and she showered the stones on them(Maya yudha). She created illusions by taking different forms to confuse them.

She attacked them abstractly when she realized, it was impossible to face the mighty Rama and to bear the force of his arrows .

Rama hesitated in the beginning to attack Tataki since she was a woman but later he realized how evil she was and decided to kill her through the skill of 'Shabdhavedhi' which means Rama had the ability to attack her hearing the direction of the sound though she was invisible. Finally Tataki was slayed by Rama. Her defeat and death brought light in the forest. Vishwamitra, other sages and gods were delighted by the valor of Rama and Lakshmana and praised them. Tataka vana liberated from the demon Tataki and became Nandana Vana again.

The cruel Tataki was the first pray to the arrows of Rama.

Throwing stone at someone is the strategy of some cunning minds which existed  then and exists even now.
