 ಮಾರುತಿ ವೀರಮಾರುತಿ! ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾರುತಿಯು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನಿಗೂ ರಥವಾದ! ಮಾರುತಿಯ ಹೆಗಲೇರಿದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು ಮಾರಕವಾದ ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನೆಸೆಯಲು ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತು ಮೂರ್ಛಿತನಾದನು.ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೊತ್ತಿನ ಬಳಿಕ  ಮತ್ತೆ ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಏಳು ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಒಮ್ಮೆಲೇ ಹೂಡಿ ಮಾರುತಿ- ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣರನ್ನು, ನೂರು ಬಾಣಗಳಿಂದ ವಿಭೀಷಣನನ್ನು ಪ್ರಹರಿಸಿದನು.ಇವನ್ನು ಹಗುರವಾಗಿ ಕಂಡ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತುವಿನ ಕವಚವನ್ನು ಬಾಣಗಳಿಂದ ನುಚ್ಚುನೂರು ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತುವೂ ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

ಘನಘೋರ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯಿತು. ವಿಭೀಷಣನೂ ತಾನೇನು ಕಡಿಮೆಯೆಂಬಂತೆ ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ  ತೊಡಗಿದನು. 

ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು ಕೋಪೋದ್ರಿಕ್ತನಾಗಿ ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತುವಿನ ಸಾರಥಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.ವಾನರವೀರರು ಅವನ ಕುದುರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ರಥವನ್ನು ಧ್ವಂಸ ಮಾಡಿದರು.ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ  ಹನುಮನ ಕೈಚಳಕವೇ ಎದ್ದು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. 

ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತು ಮಿಂಚಿನ ವೇಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಂಕೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಹೊಸ ರಥವೇರಿ ಬಂದು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ತೊಡಗಿದನು. ಮಂಡಲಾಕಾರವಾಗಿ ಬಿಲ್ಲನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸುತ್ತಾ ವಾನರರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸತೊಡಗಿದನು.

ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನೂ ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ಕಸರ ಮಾರಣ ಹೋಮ ಮಾಡಿದ.ಅಸ್ತ್ರ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಸ್ತ್ರಗಳ ಅಮೋಘ ವಿನಿಮಯ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತು ಆರಲಿರುವ ಹಣತೆಯಂತೆ ಪ್ರಜ್ವಲಿಸತೊಡಗಿದಾಗ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನು ಯುದ್ಧಾಂತ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಐಂದ್ರಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹೂಡಿ-

"ಧರ್ಮಾತ್ಮಾ ಸತ್ಯಸಂಧಶ್ಚ

ರಾಮೋ ದಾಶರಥಿರ್ಯದಿ|

ಪೌರುಷೇ ಚಾಪ್ರತಿದ್ವಂದ್ವ:

ಶರೈನಂ ಜಹಿ ರಾವಣಿಮ್||"

'ಧರ್ಮಾತ್ಮನೂ,ಸತ್ಯಸಂಧನೂ,ಅದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಪೌರುಷವಂತನೂ ಆದ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯಿಂದ ಎಲೈ ಐಂದ್ರಾಸ್ತ್ರವೇ ರಾವಣನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತುವನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸು'ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿ ಬಾಣವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟನು.ರಾಮ ಮಹಿಮೆ! ಅದು ರಾಮಬಾಣವೇ ಆಯಿತು! ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತುವಿನ ತೇಜೋಮಯ ಶಿರವು ಶರೀರದಿಂದ ಬೇರ್ಪಟ್ಟು ನೆಲಕ್ಕುರುಳಿತು! ದುರಾಚಾರಿ,ದುರಹಂಕಾರಿ ಆದರೆ ಅಪ್ರತಿಮ ಸಾಹಸಿಯ ಬದುಕು ಅಂತ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.

ಗಗನದಲ್ಲಿ  ನೆರೆದಿದ್ದ ದೇವತೆಗಳೇ ಮೊದಲಾದವರು ಸಂತಸದಿಂದ ಹೂಮಳೆಗರೆದರು.

ವಾನರವೀರರು ಕುಣಿದು ಕುಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಬದುಕಿದರೆ ಬೇಡಿ ತಿನ್ನುವೆವು ಎಂಬಂತೆ ರಕ್ಕಸರು ಲಂಕೆಯತ್ತ ಓಡಿದರು.ಗಾಯವಡೆದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಾದಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸುಷೇಣನು ಆರೈಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದ. ರಾಮನು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣನನ್ನು  ಆಲಂಗಿಸಿ ತನಗಾದ ಆನಂದವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದನು.

ಇಂದ್ರಜಿತು ತಾನು  ಸತ್ತು ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ ವೇದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಟ್ಟ.

ರಾವಣನಿಗೆ 'ಅಳು' ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಮತ್ತೇನಿದೆ?

Maaruthi the brave Maaruthi ! Our Maaruthi became the chariot even for Lakshmana ! Lakshmana who climbed the shoulder of Maaruthi began to throw the dangerous arrows which made Indrajith fell unconscious. After some times, he regained his consciousness and attacked Maaruthi - Lakshmana by unleashing seven arrows simultaneously upon them and attacked Vibhishana with 100 arrows. Lakshmana who took the action of Indrajith lightly, broke the armour of Indrajith into pieces with his arrows. Indrajith too did the same. 

The terrible war took place. 

Vibhishana too involved himself in the war as if he too was not inefficient. 

Lakshmana who was furious, killed the charioteer of Indrajith. The monkey warriors killed his horses and destroyed the chariot.  Hanuman's sleight of hand was being highlighted in this.

Indrajith went to Lanka in the speed of light ,came back in the new chariot and indulged in the war. He began to kill the apes by swinging the bow around. 

Lakshmana too slayed the monsters in the same way. The precious exchange of artilleries took place . When Indrajith began to sparkle brightly as if the light was about to extinguish, Lakshmana inserted 'Aindraasthra for the end of the war and cited - 

"Dharmaathma Satyasandhascha

Ramo Daasharathiryadi !

Paurushe chaapratidwandwa :

Sharainam Jahi Raavanim II"

Lakshmana prayed to the Aindraasthra to slay Indrajith the son of Ravana by the greatness of Rama who was the follower of righteousness and truth. After praying he released the arrows. The greatness of Rama ! That became the arrow of Rama ( Ramabaana) ! The sparkling head of Indrajith got separated from the body and fell to the ground ! The life of the evildoer, the arrogant but peerless adventurer got terminated. The Gods and others who had gathered there in the sky showered flowers with happiness. 

The monkey warriors hopped being overjoyed. 

The monsters ran towards Lanka as if they would live by begging if they were remained alive. Sushena nurtured Lakshmana and others who were injured. Rama expressed his happiness and joy by embracing Lakshmana. 

Indrajith by being dead gave up the stage for Ravana. 

What else is there for Ravana except weeping ?
