ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿನೋಟ-೪೨

ರಾಮನು ದೋಣಿಯೇರಿ ಅತ್ತ ಹೋಗಲು ಗುಹ ಸುಮಂತ್ರರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಕಣ್ಣಿಂದ ದೋಣಿ ಕಣ್ಮರೆಯಾಗುವ ತನಕ ನೋಡಿ ಶೋಕದ ನಿಟ್ಟುಸಿರಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗುಹನ ನೆಲೆಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದರು.ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಂತ್ರನು ಮೂರುದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ತಂಗಿದ್ದು ರಾಮನು ಚಿತ್ರಕೂಟದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸತೊಡಗಿದನೆಂಬ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಗುಹನ ಸೇವಕರು ಬಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ಬಳಿಕ ಅಯೋಧ್ಯೆಯತ್ತ ರಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದನು.

ರಥದ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದಲೇ ರಾಮರಥ ಬಂತು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದ ಪುರಜನರು ರಾಮರಹಿತ ರಥವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಗೋಳಾಡತೊಡಗಿದರು.ಮತ್ತೆ ರಾಮನು ವನವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟಾಗ ಆದ ರೋದನಗಳ ಪುನರಾವರ್ತನೆ! ಜನರಿಗೆ ಮೊಗ ತೋರಿಸಲಾರದೆ ಸುಮಂತ್ರನು ಮೊಗಕ್ಕೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಮುಸುಕು ಹಾಕಿ ದಶರಥನಿದ್ದ ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯ ಅಂತ:ಪುರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.ಮೌನ.ಸ್ಮಶಾನ ಮೌನ.ಸುಮಂತ್ರನೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನೇ ಕಂಡು ಅಳಿದುಳಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಸೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳಕೊಂಡ ದಶರಥನು ಎಚ್ಚರ ತಪ್ಪಿದರೆ ಕೌಸಲೆಯು ಕಣ್ಣೀರಾದಳು.ಸುಮಿತ್ರೆಯು ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಗೆ ಸಾಂತ್ವನದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದಳು.

ಸುಮಂತ್ರನು ದಶರಥ- ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯರಿಗೆ ರಾಮನ ಯೋಗಕ್ಷೇಮ ಮತ್ತು ಆತನಿತ್ತ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯು ಶೋಕವನ್ನು ತಾಳಲಾರದೆ ದಶರಥನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿದಳು."ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಿಂಹವು ಇತರ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿದ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪುರುಷಸಿಂಹನಾದ ರಾಮನು ಭರತನಿಂದ ಆಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಈ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸನು" ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯ ಈ ಮಾತು ದಶರಥನನ್ನು ತುಂಬಾ ನೋಯಿಸಿತು.ದಶರಥನು ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯ ಕ್ಷಮೆ ಕೇಳಿದನು.ಇದರಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ತಪ್ಪನ್ನು ಅರಿತುಕೊಂಡ ಕೌಸಲ್ಯೆಯು ದಶರಥನ ಕಾಲಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸೆಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದಳು. ದುಃಖದಿಂದಿರುವ ಪತಿಯನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಸಮಾಧಾನದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ರಾಮನು ತನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳಿಸಿದ ಸಂದೇಶದಂತೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಳು.

ದಶರಥನು ಆತ್ಮಾವಲೋಕನ ಮಾಡತೊಡಗಿದನು.

Guha and Sumantra stood watching while Rama was moving ahead in the boat.  They watched him until he disappeared and went beyond their sights. After that Guha returned home along with Sumantra with grief in their hearts. Sumantra had stayed there for 3 days. He decided to return to Ayodhya only when the servant of Guha brought the news of Rama reaching Chitra Koota and beginning his new life there.

The people of Ayodhya came to know about the arrival of Rama's chariot. But they lamented to see the chariot without Rama. The grief and the sorrow of the departure of Rama kept haunting people again and again. Sumantra ,being unable to face the people ,went to the harem of Kausalya to see Dhasharatha, by covering his face with a cloth.  Everything was silent there! a grave Silence. Dhasharatha fell unconscious again who lost the hope of seeing Rama when he saw Sumantra who had come alone. Kausalya shed tears for her husband who was falling unconscious often. Sumitra consoled Kausalya.  Sumantra conveyed the message of Rama to Dhasharatha, Kausalya and Sumitra. He told them about the well-being of Rama.

Kausalya rebuked Dhasharatha out of grief  and stated in anger that " the lion and the other animals of the forest do not eat the meat of the animals which are being killed by other animals. In the same way Rama who is equivalent to lion would never enjoy ruling the kingdom which would be reigned by Bharatha ".

These painful words of Kausalya stabbed Dhasharatha hard and he apologized Kausalya for his mistake. Kausalya realized her mistake of rebuking her husband, when she came back to the reality .She fell to the feet of Dhasharatha and prayed to him to forgive her. She consoled her husband who had lost himself in the deep grief and she followed the message of Rama.
