 ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಾಯನಮ:

ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಹಕ್ಕಿ ನೋಟ-೨೭

ದಶರಥನ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಕಿನ್ನರಿಯಂತಿರುವ ಅವನ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ  ನಾಗಕನ್ಯೆಯಾದ(ದ್ವೇಷ) ಕೈಕೇಯಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲೆಂದು ಅವನುನು ಆಕೆಯ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಸಮಾನವಾದ ಅಂತ:ಪುರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು.ಮೋಕ್ಷವಿಲ್ಲದ ರಾಹುಗ್ರಹಣಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುವ ಚಂದ್ರನಂತೆ! ಪ್ರಿಯತಮೆಯು ಅಂತ:ಪುರವನ್ನು ತೊರೆದು ಕೋಪಗೃಹವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದಾಳೆ ಎಂಬ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಆತಂಕಗೊಂಡನು,ಕಂಡು ಕಂಗಾಲಾದನು.ಅವನಿಗರಿವಿಲ್ಲದಂತೆಯೇ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಒಲಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತೆ ವಾಗ್ದಾನದ ಉರುಳು ಹಗ್ಗವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕೊರಳಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಆಕೆಯ ಕೈಗೆ ನೀಡಿದನು."ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಬಾರದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವೆನು,ಕೊಲ್ಲಬಾರದವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವೆನು...ರಾಮನಾಣೆ!" ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನದು ಕೈಕೇಯಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನೇನು ಬೇಕು? ಅವನ್ನೇ ಗಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ತಪ್ಪುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ತನಗೆ ಅವನು ನೀಡಿದ ಎರಡು ವರಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುವಂತೆ ಕೇಳಿಯೇ ಬಿಟ್ಟಳು- ಕಾಮಮೋಹಿತ ವರದನಾದ ದಶರಥನಿಗೆ; ಅವನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಹಿಂದೆರಳದಂತೆ!-

.ರಾಮನ ಬದಲು ಭರತನಿಗೆ ಪಟ್ಟಾಭಿಷೇಕವಾಗಬೇಕು

. ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ರಾಮನು ಜಟಾಧಾರಿಯಾಗಿ,ನಾರುಮಡಿ ಕೃಷ್ಣಾಜಿನಗಳನ್ನುಟ್ಟು ದಂಡಕಾರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಪಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು

ದಶರಥನ ದು:ಸ್ವಪ್ನ- ಅಪಶಕುನ- ಆತಂಕಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಏಕಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಾದವು.ಅವನ ಬಗೆಬಗೆಯ ಕೇಳಿಕೆ, ವಿನಂತಿ,ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಜಗ್ಗದ ಬಗ್ಗದ ಕರಗದ ಕೈಕೇಯಿಯು ಅವನು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಉರುಳನ್ನು ಎಳೆದೆಳೆದೆಳೆದು ಬಿಗಿಯಾಗಿಸಿದಳು.ರಾಮನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಣವೂ ತನ್ನ ಹೋದೀತೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರೂ ಕೇಳದ ಕೈಕೇಯಿಯ ಹಟ,ಸವತಿ ಮಾತ್ಸರ್ಯಗಳೆದುರು  ರಾಜನಿತ್ತ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಈಡೇರಿಸಲು ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನೇ ಬರಬೇಕಾದಂತಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯುಂಟಾಯಿತು.

Kaikeyee had become a serpent woman who used to appear as a 'Kinnari' to Dhasharatha. He went to see his queen in her harem which resembled the heaven, only to find she was not there. The news of Kaikeyee being isolated in anger, frightened the king who resembled the moon which had been consumed by the inescapable eclipse. He went to his precious wife to convince since he never wanted to lose her. In the process of pleasing her he got trapped in her clutch where she got him under her control. Further assured Kaikeyee that he would do anything for her even if it was against the morality and would kill anyone even if he was innocent . After this, he sworn on Rama that he would follow the words that he had given to Kaikeyee. What more could Kaikeyee ask for ? Finally her strategy worked the way she had planned. She encashed the opportunity and asked Dhasharatha to adhere to his words by promising her. After that she told him to fulfill her two  boons by coronating Bharatha and exiling Rama. She demanded that Rama had to be exiled for 14 years and had to perform penance in 'Dandakaaranya 'by wearing the cloth made of the skin of a deer along with his hair matted.

Just imagine the plight of Dhasharatha! The nightmares, bad omens and the fear of Dhasharatha appeared before him simultaneously. The adamant Kaikeyee was not convinced by his humble requests and prayer instead bogged him down with her demands. She controlled his mind ,tightened her grip on him which made him suffer mentally even more. Dhasharatha left no stone unturned to change her mind and explained her how important and precious Rama was to him. Kaikeyee was so indifferent to the emotions of Dhasharatha that she was not

moved even after hearing her husband say that he would not be alive without Rama.

Dhasharatha was helpless and in a miserable situation .The jealousy of co wives made the lives complicated. At last Raama himself had to come to bring Dhasharatha out of this predicament and to accomplish the promise given to Kaikeyee.
